Rukunetsu
FANTASY DRAGON FINAL QUEST 21 HERE Project R's first and hopefully not last attempt at an album. Beats are made from small samples from both the DragonQuest 8 and FF13 ost's respectively. As always, music is free with pay being completely optional. With that said, I hope you find it somewhat enjoyable OCR. Take care everyone.
Gollgagh
Dragon and Fantasy are swapped in the kana (so it reads Dragon Fantasy Final Quest); is that intentional? Also, does this actually have any remixes or does it just sample FFXIII and DQVIII?
Pl511
Man, I love those Final Fantasy tracks. Really awesome work as usual. Well worth paying for. ^^
Rukunetsu
@ Gollgagh 1) That was an error on my part regarding the Kana I'm afraid ^^ 2) No proper remixes per se - just beats made around various samples from both osts (as you said). But thank you both for checking it out.
Calum
Really amazing work Ruku! Digitally Strange World is one of my favourites! You keep true to your style but there's so much attention to detail and little touches within these tracks that it keeps everything real interesting. Keep it up man! Modus
Yay, been waiting! Have to ask, which ones sample Naoshi Mizuta and from what source? He's my absolute favorite VG musician. Strangely, track 3 is one of my favorites. Your style makes gloomy sound dark and soothing. Track 2 has great energy too. Give me a week so I can pay what you deserve. Great work, as expected, and nice album art. You, halc, and bLiNd are OCR's triumvirate of sound, as far as my ears are concerned.
Rukunetsu
@Modus - that would be number 11 (the more calm pieces before the percussion kicks in); Name of the song would be SynchroDrive. That said, you don't have to pay anything. : ) that's totally up to you man; but thank you either way for even considering it.
Dj Mokram
I knew it! You're the secret child of Noriko Matsueda and Takahito Eguchi, and this is in fact the soundtrack to the long awaited Racing Lagoon 2. Personal highlights include Wish 4 You (captivating), Mystery Tower Groove (soothing), Jazzy Travelin' Wagon (soulful) and Nameraka na Bresha (groovy). The (intentional?) mid 90s hiphop references were right up my alley, with nods to the likes of The Pharcyde and Tribe Called Quest among others. From a compositional standpoint you've made incredible progress, turning the sampling technique inside out and exploiting your strengths. The beats bear your trademark-style and are jazzy as heck. Everything is flowing and it's just a pleasure to listen from start to finish. Even forays into a more electronic sound like in Digitally Strange World manage to keep the groove steady and the emotional chords aplenty. Mitsuto Suzuki seems to have been somewhat influential, which makes me wish you'd tackle the soundtrack of The 3rd Birthday sometime. Hard to believe this is your debut album, but here's to many more my friend, for this is solid gold. Thanks for doing what you do best and for keeping at it. You're an inspiration.
