When is the FFVI Album release date?

I thought the release date for the FFVI album was set for December 18th, but I've seen and heard nothing about it since the second Kickstarter went up. Is this happening tomorrow? Before my wedding on the 29th?! I must have this music at my wedding! OCR, don't fail me now!

I believe he's referring to the kickstarter page that says "We’re shooting to release the album around the 25th anniversary of the Final Fantasy series, December 18th, 2012." Of course that's not a release date announcement, but that's where the December 18 date came from.

Patience is required for things like this. Always has been, always will be.

It was a goal, not a hard release date. The aim currently is to have the album ready asap though, so it'll be out there soon enough!

It's practically an OCR tradition to speculate about tentaitive release dates that are nowhere near the actual release. People were anticipating the release of Double the Trouble for over a year now. Maverick Rising was... god, I don't even remember how many years "delayed". Albums happen when they happen, man, if you start getting excited about hard dates you'll go crazy.

Just to comment - certainly this has been the "norm" with OCR projects, but since this one had such a big Kickstarter backing, I think it's fair of the backers to expect something a little sooner than later. I'm all for quality if that means a little delay, sure, but with all the huge push, excitement, and momentum built into the Kickstarter campaign I think it would be a disservice to everyone involved if it does end up delayed a year or however long. Just my opinion.

That said, I'm really looking forward to this album and I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
