Bundeslang
The People's Remix Competition 259 PRCv10-25 Hello everyone and welcome to the People's Remix Competition! This is already the last regular PRC of 2013 and the 10th season of PRC. Because last round was extended, the round started later as in the usual schedule, but the deadline will also be a bit later as usual. The remixing stage of PRC260 will start after the remixing deadline of this round directly and that round will be a bit longer as usual, as it is a special anniversary edition. Last round only one song appeared before the regular deadline, but after extending it twice, 2 other songs and 1 bonus mix where added, bringing the total to 4 songs. Because not many people voted, it was a close call and Esperado and Showroom Dummy tied for first place. They both picked a source. Im gonna go with "ezios family" from assassins creed. Its a nice emotional song that you could really do alot with, and i think the remixers will enjoy it. heres a midi that seems to be alright of it. http://www.hamienet.com/midi35435_Ezios-family.html hello!for next round I pick Batman title theme for Gameboy, it's a very good and simple theme! I will try to do a bonus MIDI is here: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/gameboy/Batman_-_Intro.mid Source 1: Assassins Creed 2 (PC) - Ezio's Family MIDI Wikipedia Source 2: Batman(GB) - Title Theme MIDI Wikipedia ThaSauce link: Click here to submit. GOOD LUCK! PRC instructions Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 20 MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed (only as Bonus Mixes). If anyone has problems with uploading songs to ThaSauce let me know (in this thread) and post a download link to your song in this thread (so I can upload it to ThaSauce). Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by FRIDAY December 13th 2013 at 10:59 am ThaSauce time: check my signature (below) or the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. Note that this is a different deadline as usual. Two days extension. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. You are free to create a second ThaSauce account for that, it's needed to be able to upload a second remix. You can also post the song in this thread if that doesn't work. Then I'll make sure it works. Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted in this thread. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score. The winner of this round may select the source for PRC261 because PRC260 will be a special anniversary edition.. The winners of PRC258, Showroom Dummy and Esperado, both can take part in this round by remixing the other's source. However, they are also free to submit a bonus mix, remixing their own track, or doing both as an eligible entry. You can find the full rules list at this page as well. Doulifee's PRC Archives! Esperado
i suppose i should have specified that it was from assassins creed 2. not to nitpick.
OneUp
The Assasins Creed one is beautiful and would take some time to remix, I also like the Batman a lot and think I'll try that one. Edited December 2, 2013 by OneUp
MindWanderer
Oh, that Batman one is catchy once it gets into the meat of it. And, if my ears do not deceive me, the Assassin's Creed one actually uses almost the exact same chord progression! These will go nicely together. My new CPU and RAM arrived today, so with luck I may have time to make something for this on my new system.
DZComposer
Hmm... I just may need to give this one a shot. These two almost sound like they could be poly-melodically combined without much alteration.
Eino Keskitalo
If anyone is up for a collab, I could play some modest guitar to the Batman source tune. edit: Wow, the Assassin's Creed source is really really nice, and very remixable to boot. I can do that too! (but *very* modestly) --Eino Edited December 9, 2013 by evktalo
Sir_NutS
I started something, I hope I have time to finish it.

Troyificus
I started something. Then abandoned it. Then started something else. And abandoned it. I may start something else. But I doubt it.
Bundeslang
Because there are only 20 minutes left and no songs submitted I've extended with two days because I'm not able to check the status tomorrow.
Esperado
looks like ezio and batman got beat by the baddies.

Troyificus
Eino And Trism, like batman and ezio, show up to save the prc once again! We were not the remixers this competition deserved; but we were the remixers this competition needed.
Esperado
We were not the remixers this competition deserved; but we were the remixers this competition needed. the remixer you have with you is better than the remixer you left at home. -ancient chinese proverb. Bundeslang
It's results time. Total number of mixes - 2 Total number of votes - 4 Maximum Score - 13. Evktalo did a good job, but still ends with the last place place wooden spoon with 9 points. And the winner of PRC259 is Trism with 12 points. Congratulations Trism. You are the winner. You may select the source for PRC261. Send your source to me (with a MID/MP3 file, otherwise send a second source with a MID file) by PM, or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). You may select any source from any game, as long as it doesn't have an Overclocked Remix and it hasn't been on PRC before. Check it at the list: http://sites.google.com/site/bambombim/prc http://bambombim.googlepages.com/PRCRemixList.doc (also downloadable via the link above). Send your source as fast as you can, but before next Friday, 27 December 2013. PRC260 already has started. The link to the thread is here. Eino Keskitalo
Congrats Trism for the win! Thanks guys for the comments. I agree, the mixing needs work so many thanks for the pointers MindWanderer and Esperado. Very useful constructive critisism there! --Eino
Troyificus
Yay! Thanks for the votes and critiques everyone! And thanks to Eino for being and excellent opponent as aways. I agree that I really need to learn how to humanize the strings and whatnot. With regard to MindWanderer's comments; I had no idea what the song actually sounded like going in. I always make a point of not listening to the original track when doing PRC entries. I actually thought it was a piano only track based of the midi, so similarities to the original are purely coincidental and actually a bit of a compliment Edited December 15, 2013 by Trism
