Silent Hill Challenge

I'm kind of a wimp when it comes to scary stuff, so I've decided to play Silent Hill in the dark and with headphones. No playing during day, without sound, or with other people. I'm going to post my progress each night here (please notify me if threads like this are not allowed). Why would I post this here and not document it in a journal or something? Well, I do better at keeping commitments if they become public.

Explored almost all of the school and solved the hand puzzle. It was pretty scary at first but killing everything helped.

Haha right on. I've been wanting to do the same, but i'm a complete wimp as far as scary games go.

Playing scary stuff with a mate can be fun. Had great fun with a friend playing through some of amnesia dark descent - i didn't even know that he's a pussy just like me before that.

Solved the music puzzle and got to the other school. "The monster lurks" + hanging body + shotgun + music = I'm done.

I remember late one night I was playing (this was around the time the game came out in the first place) and my sister was watching me play.

Then the locker scene.

After that we took a break and then I saved and called it quits in a bit for the night.

fun fact, playing silent hill is easier during night in a dark room. why? because the room being only lit by your TV allow you to move around without the flashlight.

game is scary indeed, but you have more room to avoid monster.

I played the school area and then decided not to pick the game up again. I yelled a lot when playing it. Don't give up Necrox.

Since it seems like the opinion is that I'm quitting.

I spent a chunk of the time running around until I found that stupid clearly-in-plain-sight drainage valve. It took me even longer to actually find where the dang key went. Boss fight was tense, ending was trippy. And after all that running around, I really didn't feel like finding a path to the church.
