Pl511 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I'm currently halfway through an original and after a couple of listens through I realised that it could be turned into a pretty cool remix of the main Skyrim theme with a couple of changes to the melody. What is the stance at the moment on releasing a song as part of an album (paid), and then submitting an altered version to the OCR judges? Quote
ad.mixx Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I'm sure it wouldn't matter. I think a metroid prime mix on this site went through a similar process. Can't remember the exact name but I think it's fine as long as it's your property. Feel free to sell your remixes too. Lots of people do afaik. OCR won't be involved with any of that, though. Quote
DarkeSword 🎮 Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 If you decide to take one of your originals, modify it into a remix, and then submit that, that's fine by us. We're cool with it. You own the rights to your original track, so you can do whatever you'd like. Feel free to sell your remixes too. Lots of people do afaik. OCR won't be involved with any of that, though. ...eeehhhhhh... Quote
Rozovian Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 OCR would never accept it. It's not something we do. Quote

Well... actually, we at OCR would recommend licensing it first... The people who 'get away with it' haven't gotten caught, they licensed somehow, or they got permission and they're paying royalties. ad.mixx Posted October 24, 2014 Posted October 24, 2014 ehh my bad. i could've sworn that some people did sell their remixes.. specifically from this site. but i see what you're saying now. Quote
