Bundeslang
The People's Remix Competition 300PRCv12-14Hello everyone and Welcome to the People's Remix Competition! The voting stage of PRC299 has not ended yet, check the Ocremix Page or ThaSauce Page and make sure to send your top 4 at ThaSauce or by PM at Ocremix. Another milestone for PRC, round 300 is coming up and the contest exists 12.5 years. For this round, we return to the start of PRC, when Reelmojo started the contest. 7 People entered the first round, and Aluminum was the first winner of a PRC round ever. The contest was started to give sources which didn't have much popularity and remixes some love. 7 songs was a nice result for the first PRC round, however the source of that round still has no Ocremix nowadays. However, another past runner of the PRC and ORC, The Orchicalcon, did a remix of the source for the fifth Ocremix Album. Maybe this anniversary edition is a good moment to give the source a second attempt. If anyone is interested in the songs of PRC1, I don't think they are on the web anymore but I still have them, so if you would like to hear them, post a reply here. Source: Doom 1 - Hiding the Secret, E1M9 (PC) MIDI Source Information ThaSauce link: Click here to submit To submit a song at the compo page a ThaSauce account is required. If anyone has problems with registering or uploading the song to ThaSauce (like last round), please upload the song somewhere else and post a download link in the thread. I recommend Soundcloud, don't forget to allow downloads to enable me to upload the song at ThaSauce. To register and submit, do the following. Click the ThaSauce link. Click the 'You are not logged in' button in the upper right. Click on 'register' (at the bottom). Read the terms and click 'I agree to these terms'. If you don't agree with them, upload the song somewhere else and post a download link as mentioned above (by doing that, you allow me to upload the song at ThaSauce. Continue the process by filling in your information. A confirmation mail will be send. There might be some issues with it (meaning that you don't get it), if that is the case, upload the song somewhere else as described above. Once registered, login with your username and password, go to the mentioned page and submit the song. If you want submit two or more songs you can create multiple ThaSauce accounts or upload the song somewhere else and post the download link. PRC instructions Limitations at ThaSauce require your entry to be 20 MB or less in size. Length for length's sake and MIDI rips are not allowed (only as Bonus Mixes). Entries must be posted in the ThaSauce link by Monday July 6th 2015 at 2:59 am ThaSauce time (10:00 UTC, 11:00 GMT), check the ThaSauce page for the exact time left. You may enter as many mixes as you like and work with as many people as you like on each mix. You are free to create a second ThaSauce account for that, it's needed to be able to upload a second remix. You can also upload it somewhere else and put a download link in this thread Do not make qualitative comments on an entry until the results of the vote have been posted in this thread. Mixers cannot vote for themselves but if they vote they recieve a free first place vote added onto their score. The winner of this round may select the source for PRC301. That round will have two sources. Everyone is allowed to enter this round. Reelmojo (if he's still around) has a vote that counts twice. You can find the full rules list at this page as well. GOOD LUCK!
Eino Keskitalo
Oh wow, 300th round. I do feel obligated to enter, I must say! Nice idea for the source, too!
Bundeslang
The ThaSauce page seems to be working again. There's also a possibility to post a Splice URL. I just had a quick look and I think Splice is something in which you can share your projects (for example FLP files when you work with Fruity Loops) and get some plugins etc. For more information: check splice.com It might look that it is possible to submit another song at ThaSauce when you have submitted, but that is not the case. Jonathan!
I'll give this one a go. As a heads up, the deadline in the original post is wrong (Tuesday 5th July doesn't exist)

Sir_NutS
Happy Birthday PRC! Funny how a great percentage of my OCRemixes are from PRC. This compo keeps me mixing when I'm in a slump and helped me find some awesome under appreciated songs. I don't know if I'll be able to do this one, but just wanted to chime in. I hope PRC continues to #500 and beyond.
Jorito
Whohoo, happy BD! My time didn't really allow for participation lately, but I did keep an eye on each round in the compo. Will probably have some time in a few weeks to give a shot at participating once or twice again. Just pick a track that's so inspiring that I can't refuse
FastnBulbous
Pulled a sickie from work today and ended up finishing the track way ahead of schedule
Paladin
Nice one, Fast. Meant to have recorded vocals for mine, but it never happened. Will be submitting what I have, though.

Eino Keskitalo
I've transcribed some stuff on the guitar, hopefully I have a moment for recording.
Bundeslang
Welcome to the voting stage The mixing stage is over. This round has 3 songs. To vote, do the following: Visit the stated ThaSauce Page and listen to all the entries. Scroll to the form at the bottom of the screen. Fill in the entries from first to third. State a reasoning for it. Participants are encouraged to vote and leave feedback. However, they may not vote for themselve, they should leave the third box empty. They get a free first place if they vote. Non participants are encouraged to vote to decide the winner and leave comments as well. Always look in this thread to find out who's the winner of the round after the voting stage instead of only looking at ThaSauce for the results. All past organizers of PRC (so not me) will have a vote that counts twice. You have until THIS Wednesday, July 8th 2:59 am ThaSauce time to vote. Check the ThaSauce page for the exact time you have. The winner may choose the source tune for PRC2301.Check the ThaSauce Page to vote.If anyone have issues voting via ThaSauce you can vote by sending me a PM at Ocremix. Eino Keskitalo
Ahhh, I didn't realize the deadline was a bit earlier that I am used to with PRC (maybe because it's been a while since I participated?)
gercr
Ahhh, I didn't realize the deadline was a bit earlier that I am used to with PRC (maybe because it's been a while since I participated?) yeahh, I was working on something too, and thought I had time to finish it today. too bad, I really wanted to make something for this. Paladin
Bad times. :/ When you said you'd be working on it this morning, evktalo, I was thinking "blimey, the deadline's at about 10 or 11am in Finland". That would've been an impressive feat.
Cash
If it's not too much trouble, could there be an extension? The more songs the better, IMO.
FastnBulbous
I have no problem an extension. Would be good to widen the competition.
Eino Keskitalo
Well, I recorded the guitar, and I might add a bit more to it, even without extension (which sounds like a good & popular idea!) I'll sub a bonus mix at least soon (should really work on my project tracks tho!) The daughter helped out mapping the piece out: Troyificus, FastnBulbous and Paladin
Bundeslang
Since the deadline is over for almost a day already, it's too late to still give the extension. But everyone who is still working on something is free to post a download link here in this thread. I can add the songs later to ThaSauce as bonus mixes. Paladin
Nice, evktalo! Very atmospheric. The second page of the score was the best bit, hands down. Eino Keskitalo

Bundeslang
Looks like we all won... Good times! Nope. It's results time. Total number of mixes - 3 Total number of votes - 3 Cash got three second places, but ends with the last place wooden spoon. FastNBublous got 7 points and second place. And the winner of PRC300 is Alex Smith by unanimous decision with 9 points. Congratulations Alex Smith, you are the winner. You may select a source for PRC301. PRC301 will have two sources. Send your source to me (with a MID/MP3 file, otherwise send a second source with a MID file) by PM, other options are PM me @ ThaSauce or by e-mailing to bambombim@gmail.com (I prefer a PM @Ocremix). Send your source as fast as you can, but before this Friday (10 July), 10:59 AM ThaSauce time. You may select any source for any game, but not a source with an OverClocked remix or a source which has been used in PRC before. An overview of the past PRC's can be found in the following links: http://sites.google.com/site/bambombim/prc http://bambombim.googlepages.com/PRCRemixList.doc (also downloadable via the link above).
