Black Mage Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Here's an interesting experiment in interactive sequencing, The ReactOgon. The creators of the ReactOgon call it a “chain reactive performance arpeggiator”, which dynamically shifts its patterns and sequences based on coded discs placed on the flat-panel interface. The ReactOgon It has something of a retro 70's Star Trek vibe about it. Quote
kamoh Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 I'm sad now because I thought this was going to be some sort of UFC75 review thread... Quote
Crazyonr1 Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Thats pretty damn sweet, but I bet it'll cost a pretty penny when the guy commercializes it Quote
Dyne Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 That is a pretty cool device there. Reminds me of Haken Audio's Continuum in that it's touch sensitive. Though, this Reactagon takes it to the next level with some of the features it has. I'm rather impressed. Quote
The Pezman Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 I'm not sure how intuitive this would end up being... having no clear indication of what a given hexagon's pitch value could make things very confusing. Quote
BardicKnowledge Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 The guy who leads the electronic music club here at Iowa State is working on a lo-fi Reactable -- hopefully the club decides to make a better, fully functioning one. In any case, the video he has up is pretty good -- Quote
Fishy Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 This is fantastic because it can be mathmatical or aleatoric, whatever you want it to be. The mixing features are a sweet addition, and the transpositions are awesome. Obviously its a bit more limited then a normal sequencer, but its something you wouldn't get bored with quickly. Quote
