Here's an interesting experiment in interactive sequencing, The ReactOgon.

The creators of the ReactOgon call it a “chain reactive performance arpeggiator”, which dynamically shifts its patterns and sequences based on coded discs placed on the flat-panel interface.

It has something of a retro 70's Star Trek vibe about it.

That is a pretty cool device there. Reminds me of Haken Audio's Continuum in that it's touch sensitive. Though, this Reactagon takes it to the next level with some of the features it has.

I'm rather impressed.

This is fantastic because it can be mathmatical or aleatoric, whatever you want it to be. The mixing features are a sweet addition, and the transpositions are awesome.

Obviously its a bit more limited then a normal sequencer, but its something you wouldn't get bored with quickly.
