Used my keyboard to figure out the notes then I fixed them b/c my god, the left hand stretches 2 octaves frequently on the arp.  I'm guessing Akira did this all one handed ...That sounded wrong (or maybe that sounded right).  (Probably used a mouse).  Anyways...how's it sound?

O right.  Source:

Bumpity bump response!

Yeah, sorry 'bout the mod review thing not working as it should as of late; the staff that normally run it are experiencing a critical existence failure.

I'll give some thoughts on it to help you out (you might've actually asked me earlier, but the message got lost in the discord shuffle - really sorry about that!).

I do like the overall quality of your instruments - much better than the Silent Hill instruments, even - but I'll be straight and say this is likely too conservative for OCR. The instruments are pretty close, and the overall arrangement is similar to the source (without the texture change made in the source in the piano). I hear the subtle changes made in the arrangement (like at 0:55 - 1:12, for example), but it's likely not enough for the panel to call it sufficiently interpretive. It's great stuff in it's own right, OCR be damned, but it'd likely be rejected for being too conservative.

(Note: I'm only commenting on whether it'd pass the OCR panel or not because you're marking it for mod review :P

Hopefully this sentiment won't be shared by the panel.  I have to disagree.  There is notational edits at many parts (0:11, 0:37-0:52 for example).  0:55 to 1:33 the rhymic notation and operatic-ish support lead is quite different from the source material.  Again, 2:22 to 2:42, there is rhythmic alterations (especially with the organ-like electric keyboard).  NVM on last prior bit that I had to remove...don't want to undermine my own chances lmao

(edit2-run on) I had to timestamp all this crap to clear things up.  Hope you don't mind ;)

Also, let me add that conservative stuff - conservative medleys included - this awesome remix  have passed before.  So...  I hope this opinion doesn't color the other J's perspectives too dramatically.

And thanks for the comments.  Best wishes.

*MOD REVIEW*

Hey. I think I'll disagree with Gario on this one about the conservativism being too much. Is it conservative? Yes, I think it is. Do I think there's more you can do with it? I do. Trust me, I'm all for being minimalist in music sometimes, but I think with a source like this there's a lot you can do with it. Then again, you may not WANT to do anything with it, which is an artistic choice you're free to make, especially with this being a sort of horror genre piece of music. I'm going to mark as complete, and you can roll the dice with the judges on whether or not this is enough of a new take on the piece to pass. I'm more optimistic than Gario, but I still see his point.

*MR OUT*

I've reviewed your remix and have set it to Completed status, indicating that I think your remix is ready to be submitted to the Judges Panel. Congratulations!

If you feel like you still need to work on your track and want more feedback, you can change the prefix back to Work-in-Progress and we'll go through the review process again.

If you decide to submit your track, please change the prefix to Submitted after sending your email. Thank you!

Wow OCR Forum didn't inform me of this response.  Well.  I feel "done" with the arrangement side of things for now.  If there is some simple changes I *have* to make in order to get this posted if all else fails, I'll consider 'em.  Thanks for the update XPRT.  Ye, I already subbed it, so the dice have been rolled haha.  :D

Right, changing status now.
