  3. Oh, c'mon, this remix deseves much more attention! Orchestra is not my favourite stuff, tbh, but when it's made right, it clicks SO HARD. This track is just awesome, seriously. I love how from cartoon-ish, carefree intro it evolves into something majestic, something solemn, simply epic, which makes me think about Venice for some reason (maybe because the arranged theme here is mostly "Swimming BGM"? ) and then it returns back to its playful beginning Sweet thing for sure! P.S. All hail dat accordion!

  4. I'm going to work on my track this week and try to submit it next weekend. Just have a question though: is the goal to make this track sound spooky, or is that description simply playing off the month? What I have right now doesn't really classify as "spooky," so I just want to make sure.

  5. "it's the same thing each time" is just a crutch that idiots lean on when they want to criticize a thing but are too stupid to recognize anything reasonable worth criticizing

  6. Thank you very much for your detailed and helpful feedback! Yeah, there will be improvised solos from both the lead guitar and tin whistle. I like my musicians to have some creative wiggle room when doing music like this because 1) they LOVE to just do their thing and 2) it sounds more natural and organic. The ending will sound better through live performance as we will be able to make that transition more natural and it will also have some improvised effects too :). I am glad you like the arrangement as a whole and I might still tinker with the end to see what I can do. Thank you again for your feedback and taking the time to listen!

  7. This divide and conquer thingy sounds like it makes a lot of sense. I've decided to cut down a bit on the drum and bass, and focus on trumpet right now. Because of the embouchure this is quite difficult to combine with flute, but I'm managing. This doesn't mean I'm not playing any drum and bass anymore, but it's just not a priority. I've got some experience with learning how to play instruments, so I know I'm not going to become a great drummer in a month. Also not in a year, or two years. I'll probably never become a really good drummer, but that's all relative. Like DusK said, becoming mediocre at everything sounds like a great bet, since it'll be useful for my own recordings and compositions. The same with bass, trumpet and whatever other instruments I might wanna play later. And I just generally always want to keep improving, no matter how good, mediocre or bad I'm at it. I think that kind of mindset is important if I want to make a living out of music. After downloading the app Garpocalyps recommended to me I've been getting my music making a bit less chaotic and more streamlined. I'm starting really easy, with just practicing bass once a week, drums once a week, trumpet daily, composing daily and flute whenever I've got some time left. But I'm planning on getting things a bit more frequent. Carbunkl sums it up pretty well. Everyone, thanks for all the advice!! I'm gonna keep all the words that have been said here in mind.
