  1. I'm very pleased to announce that @XPRTNovice has claimed Andross! He has yet to decide on a source, but I have no doubt that he'll remix a winner. Welcome aboard! EDIT: SF64 will be the source for this remix. ----- I don't know the fate of our plans for collaborating this track yet. What I can tell you is that the Andross monologue WILL go ahead, even if I have to make it a separate track. More on this later, once I have a chance to get to it. Two claims left!

  2. Another shameless triple-post: @YoshiBlade has claimed Boss A from SF64! He just sent me an awesome drumstep/dubstep WIP - another outstanding addition to our project! Wow, just one claim left on the regular album - so close!

  3. I'd just like to thank everyone for staying in touch - it's 3 days before the deadline and I've received word from just about everyone on the project on where they are. This is great! For the few stragglers, please let me know where you're at when you get a moment - even if you just tell me you're alive and that you heard me. LOL ----- I told everyone we would have a script ready for the deadline for our narratives and we've got two draft scripts so far (big thanks to @TheChargingRhino and @classic_gamer_76 for writing these up!) - they are pretty solid in writing and concept so far, but I still think I need to go over them a bit before I feel we can share them with the team. I'll probably have one I can post by Saturday. What I'm trying to do is think of overall concept right now - these were originally supposed to be simple, quick intermissions to give a bit of a context to the journey, but after a lot of discussion with those involved (and some advice from @YoshiBlade - thank you again for all your comments and suggestions!), I've been encouraged to really think about building an overarching story behind this and work the dialogue into how the album flows. This would turn our currently musical album into a remix/audio-drama hybrid - sounds cool, but it would have to be done right to be taken seriously. I'm going to really consider this before I commit to rolling this out (hence the delay in posting a script). More to come on this, stay tuned.

  5. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) Round 76: Vectorman - Ocean Midi: http://compo.thasauce.net/files/materials/MnP76_vector-ocean.mid Youtube: "Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye! There is a mystery lurking deep within a realm unbeknownst to mere mortals. The ocean is hiding something. Not giant squids nor fascinating and mysterious creatures. There are tales of a green man made of spheres crusading deep within the depths of the realm. His vectors are not clear nor how he manages to move, but for reasons beyond our understanding as if pure magic whenever he has been spotted there was musical accompaniment in the form of Ocean from this so called Vectorman." -APZX Deadline: July 12th Wed @ 1PM Vote Ends: July 14th Fri @ 11PM Submit your remix Here when completed. MnP ARCHIVE - made by Trism MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required. MnP Instructions/Guidelines Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. Most or all of the source notes must be present (but not necessarily in the exact same order), secondly the mood (energy, pacing, feelings being conveyed etc) should also be retained. For example, a source tune that is fast-paced and energetic that's remixed into a mellow/chill-out theme would be a hard sell. If you decide to do a genre swap (i.e. symphonic to techno), make sure that the conditions of #2 are met. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. Please don't make any comments about people's entries - including your own - until the Voting process is concluded. BONUS entries are exempt of this rule. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Competition Code and Conduct MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)
