  1. Hello friends! Mazedude here. And for those of you who don’t already know, I’m at it again… making another ambitious album with plans for funding via Kickstarter. This one is even on a grander scale than American Pixels. Here’s the thing though… it’s not VGM. It’s something completely different. Check out the video below to hear me explain the vision: Yep, Bible music. Take a verse, and compose what it sounds like. This project has been in the brain for years… and I’m finally doing it. To read more, explore the verses chosen, and to subscribe or pre-order, check out the website: https://www.wordsandversesproject.com/ Also feel free to like the project on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Words-and-Verses-a-Biblical-Music-Project-113182900391305/ And I’m not saying this everywhere, but I’ll say it here… there’s a very good chance that this will grow beyond the first album, and into a project that will ultimately require other composers. I’ve already had several fellow music-makers reach out, indicating that they’d be interested in contributing to future albums should this endeavor make it to that point… so if this idea is speaking to any of you reading this, to where you might want to help some day, let me know here: https://www.wordsandversesproject.com/composers Otherwise, keep your eyes open as this heads to Kickstarter! (And if you want to help me fund the campaign itself, take a minute and pre-order here for additional bonuses later on: https://www.wordsandversesproject.com/pre-order) Thanks everyone; feel free to reach out with any questions! Stay tuned! PS - I'm nearly ready to share a few WIPs, which I'll probably just showcase in this same thread, so follow along and keep an eye out.

  2. Hello OCR! We have a very special remix contest happening this month over at dwellingofduels.net, involving crossover with OCRemix for the upcoming Final Fantasy III [NES] album! All entries for this month are encouraged to be submitted to OCR after the voting phase for consideration on this album, and will be fast-tracked through the OCR judging process! Any song from the FF3 soundtrack is allowed (note: this is the Japanese release of FF3 on NES, NOT the game known as FF3 in America which was for SNES). There are a few songs that are more 'preferable' from the soundtrack and do not currently have representation on the album: Crystal Cave Battle theme Crystal Room Opening Theme Return of the Warrior The Way to the Top Cute Little Tozas Sailing Enterprise Veggies of Geseal Castle of Hain The Requiem Swift Twist Good Ol' Fellows In the Covert Town Salonia Deep Under the Water The Invincible Forbidden Land The Dark Crystals What is Dwelling of Duels? Dwelling of Duels is a monthly VGM cover competition. Competitors submit redone versions of game music and the entries are voted upon by the community. Entries must comply with the rules, briefly put as following: The song must follow the current month's theme The song must be previously unreleased The song must not be shorter than 2 minutes The main instrument must be played live Check out our full rules page for more info on how to enter! Deadline for submissions is September 28 at 06:00 PM Eastern.

  3. So much for quitting coffee...But I did manage to do a 180' on that stupid submission that I had and produced this. Consider it a BONUS. But not a Troll entry. Except maybe that snare drum is a bit on the troll level volume-wise. Arg. Stupid E/Q. Also @TheVideoGamer, if you got something to show for, why not share it in the Request Post?

  4. Given the popularity of Tim Follin's OSTs for remixing here, I'm really surprised that Sky Shark hasn't been looked at before. It's got some great source material for a heavy metal mix or some EDM. Given the creativity here, though, I think that it could be taken anywhere. Sky Shark was one of the first NES games my brother and I remember playing, diving a P-40 Warhawk against innumerable foes proved to be quite the challenge to us for years. The soundtrack always stuck even into college - on , I still listen to it! Even if nobody mixes it, I'd highly encourage just giving it a listen. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_8zoBmDPxA

  6. Man. I picked a bad time to quit caffiene. My mind cannot slog through an idea right now. Maybe a MIDI rip clusterfuck. But beyond that, can't promise anything good. Or at all. I submitted something. Something horrifying. I'm so sorry Tim Follin T_T
