  1. You see, when people are in awe in the face of something they cannot comprehend, they rely on their imagination to patch the holes.
  2. In fact, a lot of fan art out there involve Terra and Schala and some sort of "in" or "out" relationship.
  3. Well, ragequitters should be banned anyway. If you hate losing, play better.
  4. Come on, Economizer + Quick Vanish Doom
  5. I should not have to impose limits on myself to make a game "fun." Oh, walking was boring until I setup a minefield in my backyard.
  6. The materia system was bunk, it suffered from the same issues FF6 had, it was more profitable to make everyone a magic user.
  7. Trust me, you don't want a remade FF7. You wont be as emotionally invested, you won't be surprised by anything, and it'll simply suck because it always kinda sucked.
  8. It can be done if you accept some variation. Using the flashback as a "framing device" seems to me the better choice. I can't think of a movie that pulled it off. Yes, it's a bit of a non-standard narrative, but hey, it's all about experimentation.
  9. Yay, everyone is on the forums, now lets turn these reds into nice blues.
  10. Well, time travel logic can be a bitch. Basically however it's rather simple: Evil sorceress wants to destroy the world, travels back in time, she dies, possess another sorceress, they both die, and she then tries to merge all the timeline in one singularity, she fails, travels back in time to possess another sorceress, causing herself to be caught in a time loop. Squall and the gang were orphans, who trained in gardens as Seeds, without realizing that GFs were sapping their memory, so the sorceress was a complete stranger to them, except Irvine, who couldn't pull the trigger on his mother. The GFs also served as a connection between Squall and Laguna's memories.
  11. Well, only after they stopped sending them to America...
  12. Ok, so update time. 1. The Coop / Piano + Orchestration Registered on the forum, no WIP 2. Brandon Strader / "ethnic instrumental" Registered on the forum + WIP 3. Gario / Minimalist? Not registered, no WIP 4. Hy Bound / Dubstep Registered + WIP 5. ZeroBoros and Swann / Trance/DnB Registered + WIP 6. Rozovian / DnB/Jazz Registered + WIP 7. AaronD / Orchestral Techno Registred + WIP 8. HitoriJaNai / New age Registered No WIP 9. DarkeSword / world/contemporary Registered + Completed. At this point, I am glad to say that everyone has selected a genre, and what I've heard shows that there is a lot of variety in the interpretation of the original. Due to how the project is growing, I would urge everyone who hasn't registered on the forum to do so. Then contact me or Arcana to get added to the contributor's group. There are some discussion taking place for which the input of everyone involved would be nice. The time line I promised is gonna take some time, mainly due to these things happening on the forum. Once decisions have been made, we will get moving accordingly.
  13. FF8 has a thing playing against it, if you are used to big flashy spells, then when you start playing FF8 you abuse the GFs. However, the real power is behind physical attacks and magic junctioning. And when you do it right, the battles get shorter, more exciting, and you get to play a whole different experience. At that point you can spend some time exploring a well fleshed out world, enjoy a very complex card game system, and enjoy a complex story that does not depend on one character shutting up about something (Except Irvine, who isn't sure of his own memories at that point). Sure the plot isn't hole proof, but it isn't has horrendous as FF7's is with the lack of logic.
  14. Dude, FF8 has a much stronger story than FF7. FF7 is filled with plot holes and motherfucking TIFA NOT TELLING THE TRUTH TO CLOUD WHICH WOULD HAVE PREVENTED METEO FROM BEING CAST IN THE FIRST PLACE. Boobs for brains is responsible for most of the destruction in FF7. Hell all the characters are fucking idiots and its obvious that they were built around getting the "plot" to a specific place without regards to personality or character development. And the idiots in this game: "Oh so Sephiroth needs this huge temple to be turned into a black materia? Cool, lets do it for him." Cloud was manipulated, but it doesn't explain all the others being idiots.
  15. ... Give us time to catch up... I don't know about Arcana, but I figured we'd figure this out as we went along. This is exceeding all expectations and due to my lack of experience with these projects, I'm a bit overwhelmed.
  16. Promise me, you will make a thread for me when my birthday comes, I'd hate to not have one or to have to make my own.
  17. We will stop accepting contributors tonight, at midnight Eastern Time (GMT-5:00). If you absolutely want to be in but have no clue what "genre" you will pick, just say so and I'll add you to the list of contributors. Sorry about the rather strict cutoff point, but even the contributors seem to think that hurrying up this project is the way to go. Again, thank you all for participating and now we simply have to move toward a release. Also, if you are a visual artist and would be interested in providing art for this project, contact me, we could use at the very least a CD cover.
  18. Makes sense, he didn't post his birthday publicly on OCR. Even then, some people also post it and don't get birthday threads...
  19. I used to have a preliminary treatment of a Metroid movie, based on the first Metroid. It kinda went like this: Samus arrives on Zebes and starts fighting her way to the old Chozo armory where the missile hupgrade for her suit is, it's an all out action scene. Until she fights a space pirate, where we get a flashback to her home planet being wrecked by the pirates. Flashing between the emotional tragedy and the cold calculated battle between her an the pirate until Samus wins. More exploration. Once she reaches the Chozo statue holding the missile upgrade, she touches the statue and flashes back to her childhood on the Zebes with the Chozo, how they healed her and educated her. We get a first glimpse of Mother Brain. With the missiles, she goes to find Kraid, who holds the upgraded suit, and part of the key to Tourian. She fights towards Kraid showing how she got the suit, and her training as a "Chozo warrior." When she is almost up to Kraid's lair she finds a federation scout corpse, who happens to be a member of her former squad. She then flashes back to her training with the federation, and we get a first glimpse of Adam as her CO. She then battles Kraid, and after a tough battle, she gets the Varia suit and the first half of the key. All she needs now is to defeat Ridley. She makes her way towards Norfair, and we are treated to the relationship between Samus and Adam along the way, there are hints of a budding romance, but at the same time, we see Samus gets dissatisfied with the Federation and their methods. Having reached Lower Norfair, Samus walks into a large cavern, where Ridley is waiting. Ridley taunts her, tells her that he knows they've met before. Flashback to Samus' parents death at the hands of Ridley. They battle. Samus is getting her ass handed to her, however she recognizes a Chozo rune on the wall, blasts it open and grabs the ice beam. She then freezes Ridley mid flight, sending him plummeting in a deep chasm, followed by a nasty crashing sound. Samus finds the second half of the key and makes her way to Tourian. This time, her mind is on Mother Brain's betrayal of the Chozo and the destruction of Zebes. She was away with the Federation, and they refused to help her planet, stating it would be too expensive and not part of their duty. A bitter Samus walks into Tourian, and she faces metroids. The battle is hard, but she survives thanks to the ice beam, she slowly crosses the tunnel to Mother Brain, battered and bruised as she is, she manages to defeat the defense systems, and as mother brain begs for her life, she takes the killing shot. But Tourian is about to self destruct, so she rushes to the surface, makes it into her ship that was at a safe distance to see the explosion. Samus removes the power suit, and see a picture of Adam she has in her ship. She sees the day she left the Federation. Adam had just died, and no one cared beyond calling him a hero. She says that she will not stay behind as there are enemies to fight out there. In the past, Samus leaves aboard her ship, back to Zebes, Samus sheds a tear or two, gets in the pilot seats and leaves Zebes. Roll Credit. Bonus Scene, the gunship is shot down.
  20. And still the drops are not rare, I got like 3 items today, and 4 last night.
  21. Actually, I'd like to make elevator music, but I don't quite know which instruments to pick.
  22. Well, I may have something in mind now that I'm playing around with the midi version... BUT I HATE YOU FOR MAKING ME DO THIS.
  23. My hopes for submitting a track died when The Coop asked about level of quality. I can't provide quality...
