  1. Did nobody bother to watch the Punch-Out!! trailer I posted the other day? :/

I saw it when it was first shown back in October. I'm not too fond of Little Mac's new look, and the ring's a little too dark for my taste, but the music was enough to get me pumped for this game.

  2. Chickenwarlord: :shock::shock::shock:

Please, never do that again. I see why they were rejected.

It wasn't rejected. OLR isn't for remixes not good enough for OCR. They're their own thing full of weird shit like what he posted.

  3. Just wanna say, HD Remix is absolutely awesome, but it's really, REALLY hard. I can't beat Easy mode. I've tried different characters, I've continued over 15 times, but I just get owned over and over even before the last fight.

It used to be harder. I don't think I've ever gotten past the second stage in the arcade original, even on the easiest setting.

Akuma is still pretty impossible though. I fought him for about an hour and got utterly raped.

  4. it bothers me to see neminem with the mage. like, he's been around aeons longer than me, but i still think of it as my mage, y'know? first game i ever played emulated was ffIII (in ninth grade, i think, like 2000), and i just relate with that.

I was in the same boat when I first joined. I really wanted to use the Terry Bogard avatar, but I already associated it with Instrument of GAWD, so I used Marco from Metal Slug for a while instead.

  5. I thought Sonic was in because he was the most requested by fans, and Snake is in because Sakurai and Kojima are friends or something. Also, Snake was supposed to be in Melee, but they ran out of time? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Snake is in Brawl because Kojima wanted Snake in Melee, but it was already too late to add another character when he brought it up with Sakurai.

  6. Please tell me that... you talked to everyone on that THE END? screen.

Nice out of context quote. He was talking about Earthbound's ending, not Mother 3

You play a young boy who grows up in a house with his Mom and sister(s), whose Dad is always away, presumably on some business trip? Mother 3 throws all this out the window.

Not really. The absent father is till there in Mother 3. The only difference is the player actually gets to see him this time around. He's still absent for most of the story.

  7. From the ReMix Changelog:

"ReMixes may be removed from this site for a number of reasons:

    * if it is determined to be 'stolen'

    * primarily or entirely not created by the submitting artist

    * directly sampling the game audio, a.k.a. 'ripping,' with minimal original contributions (e.g. a few breakbeats layered on top)

    * based off a MIDI arrangement, a.k.a. 'MIDI ripping,' with only instruments changed (no original notes)

    * if it fails to meet several of the other submission standards pertaining to originality and content

    * at the request of the ReMixer

  8. Isn't this game copyright infringement...? If so, we may have some tasty opportunities to stop certain people from ruining my goddamn lunch

It falls under fair use as parody, so no.

Majesco did have this to say about it though

Food lover and culinary cutie Cooking Mama is a virtual chef who believes that good home cooked food, properly prepared from the best ingredients, can bring people together around the table and make the world a happier place. That's why Mama is taking a stand with oven mitts raised high against the latest PETA objection targeting her freshly released videogame, Cooking Mama World Kitchen, that shipped this week for Wii™ from Majesco Entertainment Company (NASDAQ: COOL). Mama wants people to know that World Kitchen includes 51 recipes from around the world, ranging from vegetarian fare like miso soup and rice cakes to international delicacies like ginger pork and octopus dumplings.

"I would never put rat in my Ratatouille," said a feisty Mama while beating some eggs. "Like any accomplished cook, I create my recipes to appeal to a broad range of tastes and preferences. My only goal is to ensure you leave the table well fed."

Cooking Mama World Kitchen includes more than 25 vegetarian-friendly recipes including delicious breakfast, dinner, dessert and snack options. And, while Mama is not a vegetarian, she fully supports the humane treatment of animals, particularly for her canine protégé Max who makes his doggie debut in World Kitchen.

    About Cooking Mama World Kitchen

Developed by Cooking Mama Limited, the second installment of the fan favorite Wii series is filled with new features including kitchen mini-games, 3D graphics, chef customization and 2 player cooperative cooking. A bonus hidden mode will even surprise gamers with competitive play against the original "master cook!" In World Kitchen, preparation mistakes are events unto themselves since new mini-games add hilarious fun with Mama's lovable canine, Max. Finally, a new customization feature lets players create their own personal chef or even an adorable mini Mama!

  9. I'm actually more interested in the nighttime levels than the daytime levels. The speed sections seem look too autopilot for my tastes. At least with the action levels, I'll be able to control Sonic instead of just watching him speed through the level with minimal input on my part.

Definitely renting it though. I'm a bit of a masochist and I wanna see how horrible the controls are this time around.

  10. Nice work, Polo. I was planning on posting the doc robot portrait, but it slipped my mind.

not done yet, still have to rip these bitches myself

You could also just gank them from sprite sites like this one, though it's best to wait until after you finish the game (spoliers and all).

To help out a bit, here's some Pigmasks, with alt poses to spice things up since they're all just palette swaps

    Pigmask:

    alternate sitting verion

    Pigmask Captain:

    Pigmask Major:

    facing diagonally

    Pigmask Colonel:

saluting version to match his battle sprite

EDIT: I just noticed the general lack of Mother avatars, despite it having its own section, so here's a bunch of submissions from Mother 3 and a three EB enemies (Mad Duck, Enraged Fire Plug, and Mystical Record). Names are in the file names

And here's a rar of all the submissions in this post, for your mass downloading convenience.

LT: Lots of good stuff in here, so I chose what looked best; excellent stuff!

  11. I found the portraits for the other four robot masters from Mega Man 9 at some Mega Man wiki

    Jewel Man:

    jewel.gif

    Bee Guy:

    hornet.gif

    Plug Man:

    plug.gif

    Tornado Man:

    tornado.gif

There's also an in-game sprite in each boss' article, but they're all larger than 32 X 32 (except for Tornado Man)

    LT: Mucho bueno.

A few more Mega Man 9 sprite rips. First, some logos.

    Dr. Light Logo:

    DrLight.gif

Also available in black if it's too similar to the Dr. Wily logo.

Dr. Right Logo (from the Japanese version):

    DrRight.gif

    Again, also available in black

While I'm at it, here's Mr. X's logo from Mega Man 6.

    And two new portraits.

    Helmetless Mega Man:

    Proto Man:

LT: Pretty complete collection we've got now!

  12. You guys, I don't think he was asking for remixers who also make original electronica - I think he's asking for electronic music that has the general kind of "style" a lot of remixes have (arists similar to, not artists from).

I don't think he's specifically asking for electronic music, either. He just mentioned it as something that comes close to what he wants (professional music with no vocals), but is still somewhat lacking (no melody, repetitive).

  13. Earthbound Zero / Mother 1

I think I'm one of the only people that actually enjoyed that one. Then again, I'm biased since it's the game that actually got me into the series (after watching the commercial). The difficulty didn't bother me much, since I wasn't yet spoiled by Earthbound's relative easiness.

About a year ago, Mato started tinkering around with a Mother remake by hacking Earthbound. Unfortunately, doesn't look like he's working on it at all now.
