  1. ok I'm done. Here's the finished version: MP3 --outdated YouTube: --outdated Any feedback will be greatly appreciated! Dj Mystix
  2. Thanks Robbie! Antissa by E.S. Posthumous; wow! I never heard this song before. It's beautiful. I'm glad my remix reminds you of such an excellent song. Here's hoping this time, this remix gets through the panel. Any suggestions? (Other than ending that I still have to polish)
  3. Remix Link: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3443029/EternalTears2_DjMystix.mp3 This is the second time I am revisiting this song (last time was 10 years ago). It's one of my favorite video game songs. The mix starts with a piano riff taken from Lost Odyssey - Parting Forever. Since the source is very short, I merged it one of my own songs I wrote some 10 years ago. Hope you'll like it. 4. Congrats Robbie! Very happy for you although if you ask me, there was no way on earth this could get rejected.
  5. Robbie, Awesome stuff. I don't think anyone can do 80's better than you. Loving it. vox seemed a but off but as you said you're going to rerecord and mix it. You are filling a huge gap in the music left by Modern Talking, Pet Shop Boys, Bad Boys Blue and many others. Looking forward to another great song from you. Best of luck!
  6. Doni, Great job Doni once again. Tabla in the intro was very nice. This song is much better than your previous two songs (don't take it the wrong way, I love both of them, this is just better). Very good dance track. The only thing I can point out here is that some parts of the song could've been shorter (less repeats) to keep up the interest. Overall, this track has very high probability of getting positive response from judges. Best of luck!
  7. Here's one more of em. This time, I attempted a latin disco (calypso, cajun and flamenco) version of Outrunner's "Picture the River". The original track seems inspired from Magical Sound Shower so I decided to mix both of these tracks into one: Current WIP: [Removed] source: [Removed] Still need to fix some sound mixing, I'm kinda stuck and really don't know how to make it sound better. btw, Magical Sound Shower part has not been added yet. Appreciate all feedback!
  8. I wasn't complaining about the instruments used, it was about the way they are recorded. Seems like a normal line-in/mic input was used to record them. They are not clean. The only thing you need to do for now is to re-adjust volume levels of most of the instruments and also, try to remove the mastering plug-in and post it as it is (flat EQ). Many of people here can help you with mastering the song. good luck!
  9. Ok, now the drums are fitting in the beat but it is still badly recorded. How are you recording your samples? This still needs re-mastering. Please don't feel bad. I really like this but I just want it to be more polished. or may be I have problems with my ears. Just wait for someone else's comments before doing version 3
  10. Robbie! What have you done man! I can't stop listening to this. Its like as if Pet Shop Boys were to create something new in 2010, it would've sounded something like this. This song is way way.... way better than all the crap I see on tv these days. I want more of these please!
  11. @minimal, @Doni: Thanks! I'm definitely going to do one minor update but Darksiders has got my complete attention for now
  12. Very nice! Excellent use of synths! sounds ready to sub! good luck!
  13. Brilliant!! This is the absolute most amazing song I've heard in a while. Man, there is sooo much to learn from you! 1000 thumbs up! No need to re-record vox, just submit it. There is not even the slightest of possibilities that it can get rejected!
  14. I like the source music. As for your remix: First of all, I think you need to get rid of the midi'sh feel of the song and clean the samples. Some mastering and using a better preamp can fix this. Also re-adjust volume levels. There's one instrument in the background (intro part) which feels a little offbeat. Also add some more reverb to the the leads. You should also change the drum patterns (but may be that's just me, the drum pattern didn't seem to fit in). Introduce some more stuff in the background (as in synths, arpeggios). Some phaser/flanger on some of the background instruments won't hurt as well. The source is a great track and I believe this remix can turn out to be excellent. I would like to hear more polished version of this. Keep at it!
  15. Robbie, Thank you for those encouraging words, as always. Funny I didn't even think about Madonna while creating this. Actually, my source of inspiration was your castlevania remix Arpeggios hmmm. I realized that by the time I was finishing this. You will notice some synth apreggios at the later part of the track but it is soo much in the background that it can almost go un noticed. I will add another layer of arpeggios and will post it again. Once again, thank you for your valuable comments. Afterall, you are master of this genre
  16. no feedback as usual. Probably no one's interested in this game or may be source is too old. Well, let's be positive (may be no one found any problem with it ) Hope that Judges like it.
  17. Very very nice! I was not familiar with the source but absolutely love this. thumbs up all the way!
  18. Let me know when you read this. Need to catch up with old times.

  19. I've just heard a couple of the tracks and they are very nice. You're really good at orchestral music. Will listen to the rest when I get back home. good stuff The choir sound very real. Is it recorded? I've never able to find choir samples that I can manipulate in a software.
  20. One more thing, the lead synth and one of the background synth sounds too close. As I said before, may be increasing lead's velocity will clear this out.
  21. Yeah. I don't know what happened to OCr. Not much feedback these days. Anyway, I just came back from a business trip and getting your tune. Will be back with comments in a short while. You can take a listen to my new song in the mean time (lol! I know) Let's help each other out. http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=27026 will edit this post later EDIT: (After listening) This is one of my favorite musics of all time and I was thinking of remixing it too but then decided to go with the one above. I think the intro dragged too long and lost it's charm after a few measures. Also the lead needs to stand out a little more. You should also add some more stuff in the background (other than drums and percs). Anyway, can't go wrong with "Vampire killer" Are you doing an electro album? because your previous track "SOR: Dirty Alien" was also a bit similar.
  22. ok sorry for the inconvenience. Here's the final version. I'll wait for a couple of days before deciding to submit. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Video: MP3: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3443029/My%20Remixes/Konami%20World%20-%20Lament%20of%20a%20Warrior.mp3 Title: Lament of a Warrior Game: Konami Wai Wai World 1988 / Getsufuu Maden 1987 Console: NES Original Composer: Kenichi Mastsubara thoughts? Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZbhk7am-wM http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3443029/Getsufuu%20Maden.nsf (Track 2 and 7) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3443029/Wai%20Wai%20World.nsf (Track 5)
  23. I always loved Konami World on NES and always hoped that this type of game would become common and we get to play games like Capcom universe or Sega Galaxy. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. This is a remix of Fuuma's theme which is present in both Konami World and his own game GetsuuFuu Maden. Currently WIP Let's see if you can guess the music genre I attempted within first 40 seconds... EDIT: Posting final update. link not available at the moment. Original (From Getsufuu Maden): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZbhk7am-wM
  24. Although I'm not too much in piano solos, I think it needs some polish. For example, you could raise vocal volume and apply some more reverb/echo to make it sound more clear and nice. A little bit of mastering will make this sound way better than it is now I think. Also I'm not familiar with the source, probably didn't notice it in the movie. But you have a good voice. Keep it up and best of luck!
