  1. Hey there! Quick one, I'm about to submit a track sized at around 10MB (It's 7.3 minutes long too) soon. Is it an acceptable size or do I have to take down bit rate a bit?
  2. Thank you! I love Xenoblade too. It has become one of my most favorite games of all times. Thanks a LOT!! I was incredibly nervous when the mix reached 7 minute mark and have tried everything I could to keep the listener's interest up. Looks like mission accomplished (I hope) Claire indeed has, once again, did an amazing job. I personally think her vocals are better than the original!
  3. hell yes! and thanks to Wes! It would be great to have you on this mix as well. I will PM you the details. Many thanks for the help!
  4. 5. Awesome! I'd like to have the entire strumming part and the lead for "toberu mono" re-recorded. Would be great if you can help with that! EDIT: I can send you the entire guitar section (solo'ed). will PM you the part.
  6. Thanks a lot! I would love to have someone provide the guitar and violin part while I wait for Sabrina to finish the vocal part. I usually don't get much response but anyway, I have posted this on collab/recruit section and hope to get someone contribute their skills: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?p=857608#post857608 I'll try to ask Level99 if he can help with the guitars (he has mad guitar skills)
  7. Hey there! Anyone interested in giving me a hand with their amazing guitar and/violin skills? My vocal track is almost finished and while we wait for the vocalist to provide final wav, It'd be great to have the sequenced guitar and violin replaced with the real deal. Please have a listen and let me know if you're interested: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=39192
  8. Oops! Thanks for pointing that out, after fixing velocities and a little bit of mixing, I think vocals are okay now! You know I took out MagnaCarta 2 from this track because you didn't like it I agree with you on this and I think I can do something to fix the point where Cammy's theme kicks in. but right now I can't write a single note (soo tired). Thank you for the great suggestions, it was really helpful to cleanup the track here's the version with "fixed" vocals: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3443029/My%20Remixes/OCR/Finished-Xenosaga-Lod-3.mp3
  9. Hey Thanks! total burn out here at the moment. I've been working on this track for last 7-8 hours and can't think anymore. The track is almost finished can use a bit of mixing fixing here and there but I'm open to all feedback/suggestions It is still a xenosaga/legend of dragoon remix. I could write original stuff between vocal breaks but that's not what I usually do so xenoblade and cammy are just supporting elements here Finished version (almost): [length: 7:30 minutes] http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3443029/My%20Remixes/OCR/Finished-Xenosaga-Lod-3.mp3 EDIT: (Fixed) Someone just pointed out that vocals are too loud and so is the piano on Cammy's theme. will fix it in the next update.
  10. yay! another collab with Claire! After listening to Claire's vocals, I decided to completely redo the whole track from scratch with a totally new style to match her amazing vocals. Wrote some original stuff for the intro: WIP1: New Version http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3443029/My%20Remixes/WIP/NewMix21-Xenosaga-Lod.mp3 Very initial work but appreciate any feedback/suggestion while I try to finishing it up
  11. My god! When it started, I was like.... eeeehhh it's okay! then the vocals came in and blew me away! This is an amazing track!
  12. One last update: Added video and tweaked some velocities and mixing here and there. I'm done with this mix: 'Timeless Devotion': Hope you guys like it
  13. Hey! Thanks a lot for the awesome comments. Glad you liked it. Actually, your Outrun remix (here) inspired me to add a little flavor of MSS to this mix I understand what you mean by extending the ending a bit with cutting bass on a measure and all that I always try to limit my ending buildup to 3-4 measures max because judging from my experience, people get bored quickly if you repeat a part too much. That's why I play safe and keep it short but I totally get what you're saying.
  14. One more update; I am now done with this mix and ready for submission. Appreciate any comments/critics/suggestions: Final Version: (Timeless Devotion: A tribute to the 80s) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3443029/My%20Remixes/OCR/TimelessDevotion.mp3
  15. so I finally decided to pursue and finish this track. I really wanted to do a pure 80s pop song so you'll hear all kind of 80s stuff. It is almost finished and ready for feedback which, as always, is greatly appreciated btw, the main song here is Persona 2 (Maya's Theme) Remix Link: (updated to final verison) (Timeless Devotion: A tribute to the 80s) http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3443029/My%20Remixes/OCR/TimelessDevotion.mp3 Sources breakdown: (They are mostly overlapped) 00:00 - 00:37 : DKC2 (Mining Melancholy) 00:19 - 00:37 : Persona 2 (Map) 00:38 - 01:34 : Persona 2 (Maya's Theme) 01:35 - 02:00 : DKC2 (Mining Melancholy) 01:53 - 02:39 : Outrun (Magical Sound Shower) 02:40 - 02:59 : Persona 2 (Maya's Theme) 03:00 - 03:32 : Original Stuff Sources: Donkey Kong Country 2 (Mining Melancholy): Persona 2 (Map): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pw6-LkojX28 Persona 2 (Maya's Theme): Main Song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-JWhM_aMthE Outrun (Magical Sound Shower):
  16. Just saw this message (I usually don't come to this page). Been very busy with work these days. Hope you're going great too :D

  17. Aright! So the arrangement is mostly finished. Now I need vocals before I can mix it any further. Link: Almost finished arrangement Some points: - Vocals are placeholders at the moment - The whistle at 02:56 - 03:32 is a placeholder for "Toberu Mono" vocals. - Ending drum pattern to be re-written a bit. - mixing is not done. Needs polish after real vocals are added. Hope you guys like the arrangement. Can't wait to have Sabi's vocals
  18. Great work DJP. Being a programmer/developer almost all my life I know how most of the code that we write isn't "visible" to anyone but it makes a world of difference on the back end. Keep up the great work!
  19. I hope I can live up to the expectations. and yes, you should totally do another Zanarkand mix; that would be awesome. While you're at it, why not try your hands on mixing multiple sources? I think "eternity" from FFX-2 can definitely flow with "To Zanarkand"
  20. Actually, the transition happens at 00:40 (The violin lead is part of Suteki Da Ne) but I still agree with you on 01:14 and will definitely do something about it. And yes, the main song is going to be Suteki Da Ne with Toberu Mono acting as bridge and Shenhua as Intro and ending) I have plans to add orchestral strings, horns and stuff to this mix but overall, I do want to make it sound like a chillout-pop song (I should probably stop doing chillouts now; don't know how many I have done already). btw, Sabrina has agreed to work on this track. I will try to get it finished by either today or tomorrow and hand it over to her.
  21. Thanks! I had Sabrina's name in mind as well Let's see if she agrees to do this! Just before I go to sleep, one more update with a little bit of "Toberu Mono" added: Draft 2 (still very rough and lacks TONS of background stuff)
  22. 'Just This Once': Download MP3 Vocals: Sabrina Valenzuela Violins: Amaterasu Guitars: Magellanic Sources: ShaHua (Shenmue): Suteki Da Ne (FFX): Toberu Mono (The Last Story): ----------- History ----------- This one has been in my todo list for a long time. I just finished playing The Last Story and got blown away by "Toberu Mono". So here I am paying my tribute to Nobuo Uematsu with a little bit of Shenmue touch. Just started working on the track, following is my currently draft/idea (very rough at the moment): Draft 1 (Made within a couple of hours) Draft 2 Almost finished arrangement Please ignore the vocals for now, they are just placeholders to give the vocalist some idea of the mix's structure. Sources: ShaHua (Shenmue): Suteki Da Ne (FFX): Toberu Mono (The Last Story):
  23. . Love you for that. Thanks! Then you, my friend, is the best judge of it because that was the whole point. It should NOT feel like a slideshow if you are not familiar with the sources. If you are, then you should be able to identify overlapping of the sources (both Captain Tsubasa sources are overlapped and Mega Man one is overlapped by piano from intro). What "surprised" me was the fact that most of them overlooked everything else that were "yes" in the mix (IMHO). I don't even know what to do with this other than getting rid of half of the song and call it a Mighty Final Fight remix. I don't think this mix needs that so this will never see the light of day on OCR Oh well. better luck next mix I guess!
