  1. Happy Birthday! and thank you for the unlimited inspiration that you call OCR. Have a good one!
  2. Suikoden is on my todo list for a very long time. Whenever I get the chance, I'd like to work on these (My favorite tracks from the series): Suikoden II - Reminiscence: Suikoden III - Opening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8z_hCwrNcLs Suikoden IV - Opening: I would love to see someone giving the series the attention it deserves.
  3. I think this sounds absolutely fantastic!! I love this mix and really hope it makes it through the mods/panel. Just noticed a tiny piercing at 0:49 on left ear but maybe you can ignore that for now. Make sure it is gone once you submit it to the panel though. Best of luck with mods/panel! Hope to see this on OCR frontpage someday.
  4. Cool! Just added mine: http://gplus.to/MansoorNazar
  5. okay you got me there. I agree there are so many "unwanted" scenes in the movie but the last hour makes up for it I guess.
  6. I thought the movie was awesome and seriously, if you're going for a Transformers movie expecting excellent acting and character development plus deep story with twists and turns, as they say, you're doing it wrong. I watch Transformers only for the mind blowing visual effects and nothing more. I think Transformers 3's last hour is the most amazing 3D roller coaster ride I've experienced in a while. It seems Mr. Bay know he can't do intense drama/romance/comedy scenes so he relies totally on some silly jokes here and there, a little bit of romance, some eye candy scenes and FOCUS on blowing up stuff. I don't understand when people say they loved Avatar but didn't like Transformers. Why? Because Avatar had an excellent story? (same story as Lion King 2) superb acting? absolutely not. It was those mind bending vfx. I'd watch a movie like this any day and will not mind a T4 or a T5. For "intelligent" movies, we have people like Christopher Nolan to please us. Anyway, those are my thoughts (and my shield is up)
  7. Beautiful! I love the bass a lot. I still have two concerns which can put this mix at risk on Judge's evaluation. The lead instruments are not very strong, although I love them as is, but I know how hard it is to meet the OCR bar. The other is mixing, may I point you to one of the most awesome mixing/master tools ever, Ozone Izotope. It will solve your mixing problems almost completely since it has TONS of templates you can choose from and keep the one that makes the most sense. Finally, do very minor adjustments here and there and you're done. http://www.izotope.com/products/audio/ozone/ Try to turn off your current limiter/mixer and pass the track through izotope and see the difference yourself. (EDIT: If you want, pass me your track with limiter/master/mixer turned off and I can do it for you and PM you a few mixing options that you can evaluate before going for this tool) For leads, maybe #2 will solve it. You might want to either EQ/reverb them right or find better alternatives. I would love to see this on OCR, it has tons of potential. Best of luck!
  8. Absolutely loved this! No more complains other than mixing. This track deserves to be EQ'ed a little better. As Guifrog mentioned, take out the limiter if it is enabled and focus on your master tool (what are you using?). Also, not important, but sometimes, leads (especially synths like the one at 1:47) can sound a lot better if you apply heavy reverb on them (try experimenting). One more request, although I could hear some arpeggios but I think when the lead plays for the second time, you could introduce those overused synth arpeggios that goes from one octave to another while panning ( OCR loves it ) Great stuff dude!
  9. Amazing album. The quality of the tracks is off the charts. Loving the 3 tracks on FP, Lulza's 'Lies Within Dreams' sooo soo sexy, Rozo's 'Reverse Rain' has such a dreamy feel to it. DjMokram's track is middle eastern music done right!!, OA/DA's track is excellent, feels like it can totally fit in today's NiGHTS game, AkumajoBelmont's tracks are soo addicting ..... can go on and on and on..... loving the album Great work everyone and thank you OCR for yet another great album.
  10. Very nice! brushed drums used very effectively and gives me tons of inspiration to do something like this. Smooth mix!
  11. DISCO!!! One of my favorite tracks from the album. Just love it. It's like Kylie Minogue met Rick Astley. Total awesomeness!!
  12. I couldn't stop myself from giving some attention to much deserving Mighty Final Fight. Here's just a concept: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=35822 I'm hoping to get this done within this week.
  13. okay! So how come VROOM got official status before even first wip was submitted? (Sorry, I'm just curious)
  14. okay here I am again mixing ridiculous amount of sources together. Usually, it takes me a couple of hours to come up with a concept but this one took a whole day. I'd like to know if you guys like it before I continue in this direction. Does it sound good? It's basically a blend of Rock and Chillout. Starts with Captain Tsubasa and then currently at Mighty Final fight. I will be using AkumajoBelmont's "For You" in place of Dr.Willy since I now have his go ahead Concept: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3443029/My%20Remixes/WIP/MFF_WIP1.mp3 WIP2: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3443029/My%2...P/MFF_WIP2.mp3 Finished: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/3443029/My%20Remixes/OCR/MightyFinalFight_AllOrNothing.mp3 YouTube: (Helps a lot if you want to know which part of the mix belongs to what source) Sources: (00:00 - 00:40) Captain Tsubasa 2 - RioCap Enemy Theme (00:41 - 01:57) Mighty Final Fight - Round 2: (01:58 - 02:27) Captain Tsubasa 2 - TOHO Team: (02:28 - 02:57) Tecmo Cup (Dream Team's Theme): (2:58 onwards) AkumajoBelmont's "For You": http://ocremix.org/remix/OCR02121/ (Source: )
  15. I've been working on a Mighty Final Fight + Dr. Willy mix and ever since I accepted "Wicked Child", I can't focus on it anymore. Thanks for messing up my mix!! few questions: 1. So we submit our mixes directly to OCR panel stating that they are part of this album. right? 2. The preview is awesome, why haven't you posted it here? restricted? 3. What is stopping this album from getting official on OCR?
  16. Awesome! Looks like this project has been going on for a while (5th deadline???). I hope I can find some time to finish a track before July 31. Here's how I work, I only work on one track at a time and usually stick to it until it is finished (takes some 3-4 days when I actually start making music) but I spend like tons of days to just think about the track. I'm sorry I haven't gone through the full thread but is there a special style you have restricted this album to?
  17. Wow! I can't believe I didn't know about this project until Guifrog just pointed me to it a short while ago. Can I take "Wicked Child" please? If yes, Can I mix it with these? Castlevania: Lament of Innocence - Anti-Soul Mysteries Lab Curse of Darkness OST: Baljhet Mountains
  18. One of my favorite videogame tracks of all times; I like it. Bass is nice, the synth string chords are way too loud, some times overshadowing leads. The piano lead at 1:38 is a bit out of rhythm. You converted the track to a 4/4 measure so you should also improvise a bit on the lead. You may want to introduce some synth arpeggios. Keep it going, would love to listen to a more polished version.
  19. I'm greatly impressed by the significant boost in Judge's Evaluation queue recently. Excellent job guys. One quick question (probably asked a 100 times before so sorry about that): How many NOs are required for a rejection and how many YESs are required for an acceptance? (just curious as to me, it looks like at least 3 for NO and 4 for YES, correct?)
  20. Brilliant work here. Loved the shuriken-sharped bass. Excellent stuff!
  21. Hey man! Haven't seen you around for a long time (or maybe just because of different time zone). It sounds awesome and would perfectly fit in the game itself. I like the transition to faster tempo and percussion stuff. The only thing bothering me is the kick and snare. Kick can use more punch and snare can be replaced with something with high reverb/delay to fit in the overall mood of the track, but that's my personal preference. Loving it otherwise.
  22. lol! Sorry about that; I didn't realize that until now, hehe (should've just edited the last message).
  23. I can tell you this, it will not make it through judges panel. Here are the reasons: 1. Very midi'sh sounding. If you want to use instruments like piano, violin, sax in your mix, you either find some incredibly good samples and then apply enough articulation to make them sound human OR ask someone to play the real thing for you. There are tons of people around here who can do that for you. 2. Only one instrument plays at a time will not make your track sound very interesting. So when you play the violin or sax as lead, make sure you have some instruments playing in the background to support the lead. Just the simple piano won't cut it. No intention to upset you but this require a lot of work before you can hand it over to judges. Keep working at it, add at least some string chords, percussion or any kind of layer in the background, maybe some harp arpeggios can make it sound better. Also, rain effect can take a back seat when leads are playing. Keep at it and best of luck!
  24. I absolutely love the soundtrack!! This track deserves waayyyyyy more attention/love. I'm definitely up for this. I just wish I can find time for another mix cuz I just finished one and the process usually eats up my entire social life.
