  1. Hell yes! Too bad they had to go I bet they had some awesome plans under their sleeves that will never see the light of day. Well, we can always hope the main man behind the project, whoever that is, will resurface in the future in another company. That is all.
  2. Yeah, the fishing and quests got a lot of bashing from reviewers, I may be wrong, but I think JRPG's are getting bashed just for being a JRPG these days. I think NIER is a lot more mature in its representation and is based on real and pure emotions. Quests are 100% optional, so don't pay much attention to how they hack it in reviews. I think the RPGfan reviews and the gamecritics review are the best ones. http://www.gamecritics.com/trent-fingland/nier-review Although the actual combat gameplay isn't the best around, it's well rounded and the magic is very unique. I just finished my second playthrough last night, and I am very pleased. I'm pretty sure I'll be back for another go in the future. And oh boy the music: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7uj_9D31ug0
  3. Thanks pal! I think I'll order it then.
  4. Hey guys, I was wondering if there is a lot of lag on this game online? Is it stable? I got a 3mb broadband connection. Edit: Cool, I got post 666, the number of the beast as Maiden would say it lol
  5. Indeed! Self exploration is key. The music is astounding, and a lot of the tracks compliment the events in the story as detailed and beautifully . Listen to the Kaine / Salvation track, it's one of the most emotional pieces I've heard in years! The singer, the foreign words and notes are all spectacular.
  6. Sometimes fewer words means more than many. You should play Nier lol.
  7. This game is a lot of fun as well. The music is ace, the characters are out of the box and very interesting. There's a lot of well written dialogue and excellent moments in the story. Check out RPG fans newest review, they even gave it editors choice: http://rpgfan.com/reviews/Nier/index2.html
  8. I just like to say, this game is truly a beautiful experience, and I absolutely love it. That's all. EDIT: This thread is not necessarily about selling the game to trolls. It's about starting a mellow discussion among those who've played it, and if others are interested in it, read a few posts down for the review you can't read due to the fact that you are an-alphabet lol (Probably? If you're not, I am sorry - you're one of the good guys). Don't be a hussy, open the book of magic... ... and experience something entirely different.
  9. This is horrible news.. HORRIBLE.. Portnoy's departure to me, is like saying: The band is dead. He was the ultimate drive within the band. Oh-well.. looking forward to seeing what Portnoy does next. EDIT: Alright now I am PIST OFF.. I just read Portnoy's own words on the Dream Theater site.. I read this: I honestly hoped the band could simply agree with me to taking a bit of a "hiatus" to recharge our batteries and "save me from ourselves". Sadly, in discussing this with the guys, they determined they do not share my feelings and have decided to continue without me rather than take a breather. FUCK the guys in Dream Theater I say... cold F'n bastards!
  10. Depends what music it is. Here's a fast example, about half way into the tune there's a shred solo: http://ocremix.org/forums/showthread.php?t=30860
  11. Thanks pal! Long time no see, how's your own ReMix craziness going?! OMFG thanks for the comment back at you.. may metal take us all into the darkness! \m/
  12. \m/ (oo) \m/ Hell yes!! Glad u guys enjoyed it.. keep on rocking pals!
  13. Sure, should be fine. Since it's primarily designed for both electric guitar and bass.
  14. You can make great sound with Guitar rig, we only use guitar rig for our stuff. But if you're going live a lot, I wouldn't rely on Guitar rig. Peace!
  15. Hi, glad you like it! We often go for the more Pantera mix between bass and guitars where they unify into one sound. But in large section of the tune the bass is very present as the main focus in the backing. The drums are in your face just the way we want it, we love it when it's played very tight. We could make it more 'human' in every little detail, but we prefer not to. We don't see the negative in doing and making sounds that aren't always natural to perform in real. The magic of computer composing
  16. I totally respect your opinion! Most people Love Sonic, Metroid, Mario and Zelda for the same reason, that they keep it simple. To me though Metroid wasn't quite that kind of game, I always thought it looked like something more, that wasn't explored, so to me, getting a big story in a Metroid game is a dream coming true. BUT, if they don't give it a full effort, it's a horrible choice to go that way.
  17. To me, the designs and visuals that follow the Metroid games are screaming for more story.. they have some great concepts going on that could bloom a lot with a great narrative.
  18. I hate all Metroid games due to the lack of interesting story and cinematic. I heard this one will have that, so I'm in!
  19. Bump in hope of a little more appreciation, we did give a lot of effort you know!! LOL!!!!
  20. Heehee.. Glad you guys like it! For clearance on the source material, here are the track names: In the beginning - Character selection screen (MK1) Character selection screen (MK D. Alliance) And The Subway (MK & MK3)
  21. So... we love Mortal Kombat, decided to do a ReMake, and here it is! Actually we finished this one quite some time ago, but got a little lazy on actually releasing it. It's one of our personal favorites of what we've done. It contains Frank Johansen's wicked Vocals. Hope it is enjoyed... http://www.thedualdragons.com/Dual%20Dragons%20Music/Mortal%20Confrontation.mp3 We might make a video too, already tried but horrible lack of quality footage of Scorpion and Sub-Zero fighting. Oh well.. ENJOY! YEAH!!
  22. Lol, well, the Wii has no good games! LOL Personally I prefer HD resolution and a good controller. But I'd get this for the wii anyway, but I would undoubtedly prefer a PS3 release. No denying that. I love the PS3 controller -- hate the Wii controller. Sad but true.
  23. Too bad, let's hope we get it then. Although I'd prefer a PS3 release over the Wii release.
  24. I consider myself very open minded myself, and we both prefer studio music. I know a lot of friends who are very stiff about the few bands or band they listen to, many follow the band(s) on tour and often they are quite obsessed about them. I guess one of their reasons for going is: WOW I was in the same room as those guys! Now THAT'S an experience! lol
  25. Well, since the smell was the reply focus you obviously didn't pay attention to my other reasons that far exceeds smell lol. I just don't prefer it for the MANY reasons I listed. Pay attention before you reply next time
