Alright here are some suggestons: In the intro, you should definetely put some reverb on the strings. The horns... don't sound that real. It's also WAY too long and repetitive. It think you need another intrument the second time the melody plays. A violin or harp will do perfectly. Perhaps already a small percussion part in it. Then on to the main part: It sounds like a copy of the theme only then with some diffrent sounding instruments. Where's the original stuff? The song desperatly needs some countermelodies. And, like the others already said, it needs dynamics. It's like listening to something that's played in another room, trying to break free. Don't get me wrong; I like your mix so far, but it needs to be improved if you want a shot at being accepted.

I like it, especially the intro. But I get the feeling that the song is building up to a climax that never comes. I mean, the transpose can't be THE part we're all waiting for. And I think it still misses something, another medlodic instrument, but since it's ambient it's probably intentionally

I think you should put a link to the private forums there and perhaps a progress list (which song has a wip, where is it and when was it last updated. Perhaps even how far it's completed). Damn Right Its my territory! So, you wan't a sort of marching beat, am I right? I think a floor tom or perhaps Timpani is more suitable for the particular mood of the song than a snare... Hmm... If you wan't me to record a live loop, your going to have to wait a while - I don't have access to recording hardware at home (or even a drumkit for that matter), but my school might let me record it... and if they don't I know a couple of people with 'bedroom recording studios' (and drumkits). Although, only the school has access to timpani. And I don't even know If I have permission to use them. But I'll see what I can do. Thanks man. Besides, I have the time. First WIP date isn't even due and the mix is almost done. It's the drums from 1:10 - 2:08 that I want to replace with your drumming. EDIT: Hmmm... I guess "Rise of the Shadow" isn't going to make it as a name then?

Alright, the intro is not building up to anything. Perhaps you should begin with one instrument less. It's also too long. You're waiting before anything - finally - happens. After that, the transition is way too sudden. And it seems a little out of tempo. At the second part, I suggest another background string-kinda instrument to do some chords or something. To make it less empty. And of course, it could use some more original material.

Hey Pi, I already PM'ed you about this some time ago, but I'll ask it again: Can you make a "private" section of our Project's Forums where we can post near-finished tracks when the time comes and discuss things that "outsiders" shouldn't know about? It could become quite useful in the near future. P.S. Any update on the artwork yet?

Yeah, I remember about 10 months ago, Darkesword told the Megaman X project to wait a little longer untill some projects were finished. Guess he didn't tell the other project cause it's hard to find something NOT project-realted these days. Ah well, as long as we make sure ours stand out from the rest everything'll be fine.
