Futurama has always been a show that requires one or two times to really appreciate. This hasn't changed. It's pretty much the same writing staff too (and I love those guys to death), I believe in this season .

You're a let down. Meh.

Obviously you haven't watched enough Eurovision! Some countries can deliver serious oddities.

Digging this. The arrangement and unique approach weighs up for the slight lacking production. Like Larry said, the vocals needed some de-essing and they're wobbling pretty badly. The piece as a whole though is really nice, flowing and an interpretive arrangement. I personally liked the key change, very eurovision song contest! Overall a good track that could've used some extra polish but is unique and cohesive enough to squeak by. YES

OCR02643 - *YES* Kirby Super Star 'Blowing Bubbles in Space'

Like Andrew pointed out this could've used some more "modern" textures too to flesh out the rather sparse soundscape. However the tracks stands firmly on it's own two feet. The use of sound fx is charming and the arrangement develops nicely over time, some very good personalization going on too! While not as strong as your recent stuff this is still good enough to pass. Thanks for the updates (and noticing that I confirmed that Manami did MM1 ). Could you link to some sources for these? Yoshihiro Sakaguchi not doing Ducktales for example. Not that I don't trust you, it's just for the sake of being professional. We're also currently very busy with behind-the-scenes stuff but having a thread like this will help a lot when we get around to updates so thank you for starting it!

Hehehe 808. Well, I personally like the approach. The issue is that the mixing isn't doing the fuzzy minimal approach any favors. The buzzing bass pushes everything else back and most instruments reside in the same frequencies. If the mix was a little bit more daring and relying less on four-bar-loops I could forgive the sparse soundscape actually. You have some nice ideas on how to arrange the source, just take them to the next level! If the mixing was more even and spread out over the frequencies (I can even see using the same sounds as okay as long as they're sculpted a bit better) this would be in much better shape. Very retro! I use a Sanwa-modded Street Fighter IV Standard Edition stick for all my 360 shmups. They say Seimitsu sticks and Sanwa buttons are better for shmups but I'm doing quite well with this set-up.

Ditto in Sweden and I know it's spreading in UK. I'm pro-Spotify and since we don't want monetary compensation I doubt there'll be any issues?

Well, I'll get right on it then. My biggest issue is that this remix could've been over around 4 minutes in. The repetition is a big issue in an otherwise very good arrangement. It's nice that you found a beatslicer (they're fun) but it's not enough to carry the track variation-wise. There's some clever development but like I said, overall this could've been about two minutes shorter. On the plus side though production is good, sounds are interesting and the small theme is handled pretty well. Some additional variation, especially the theme in a different setting, would help though. Thought the trumpets sounded pretty good all things considered though I wish another instrument would carry the track from time to time. The entire track is kind of dragging because there's a lack of variety in both melody, backing and dynamics. This track definitely does a lot of things well but I find myself getting extremely worn out around the 3-minute mark every time I listen.. More variation (dynamic, melodic and in "sound") would really help this. Right now it's balancing the border but the length and lack of variation makes it fall on the NO side of it, sorry man. OCR02010 - Omega Five "Neon Glaciers"
anosou replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
Yeah, Iwatsuki liked this remix and most of the IWADON tribute album. He's a great guy I've actually played him a few rounds in Tekken 6, he plays a good King. -
Definitely a great start here! I think the ending is a bit odd, the rain comes suddenly and the synth seems unnecessary. Otherwise this does a lot of things right! There is a great foundation here, the groove is very nice. Samples are generally quite good but needs to be handled a bit better, fx and sequencing needs to be a bit improved. I agree with OA that the bass and beats could be a little fatter, more present, but it's a good way there. Try mixing in some reverb and really making sure everything sits snugly in the mix, add some additional variation to the beats/arrangement and you should be in much better shape. NO(resubmit)

*NO* Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess 'Club Impaz'
anosou replied to Palpable's topic in Judges Decisions
Definitely not a bad first try, let me just say that! However there are some problems here, most have been pointed out too. My main issue is the quality of the sounds and sequencing. The first sound introduced just sounds really flat and dull for a synth sound. The piano is robotically sequenced too and the pan flute synth again sounds very flat and dull. The arrangement definitely could've gone further in changing up the source, especially since the melody's kept intact pretty much all the way through. The backing patterns are also very repetitive, try switching stuff up to add some variation! NO -

Trés sex. Clever, personal arrangement that really develops the source. Very impressed at how far you took these 8 seconds! Production is above the imagined bar and performance is sexcellent. Some really sexy runs going on here. Dhsu is sex. SEX.. uh.. I mean YES -
OCR02231 - *YES* Final Fantasy 5 'Twisted Devil, Grinding Soul'
anosou replied to OceansAndrew's topic in Judges Decisions
A compelling blend of orchestra and synthetic. Didn't think the mastering was spectacular but the dynamics are kept intact and the track does sound good and balanced. Arrangement is held back but in a tasteful way, while it could've really exploded I'm not upset that it didn't! Sequencing could be a bit more realistic (strings especially) but overall it's all good. This track could've been improved further but as it is it's pretty solid, definitely digging the later ethnic vibe! A nice take on the source that just about squeaks by for me. YES(borderline) -

I've used Reason forever and used Reason + Record since the Record beta. It's a solid combination of software I must admit.
