Sonic's always been arrogant and too cool for school. In Sonic 1 and 2 he's get pissed and tap his foot if you made him wait. Additionally, Sega's marketting and advertising departments were on record saying that the tried to make a Sonic look cooler and have "more attitude" than Mario, his chief competition at the time. He's always been like that, and like they said above, he's been portrayed that way in all the cartoons, comic books, and such 15 years ago. The more recent games are a different intepretation of the character, but fundamentally he's the same quirky, attitude filled hedgehog. DID IIII DO THAAAT??? HEH HEH HA *SNORT* .... okay that's enough Steve Urkel stuff.

Live and Learn is cool... I also liked Open your Heart. Mystic Cave Zone would be tight. lol. Any old school level redone with some new music would be awesome. But hey, any form of rock music in Smash Bros is welcome. That genre was sorely lacking from the smash series (with the exception of the Fzero levels). This update has made me a giddy fanboy... seriously. but the delay in Japan and the TBD for North America has made me a little sad since I wanted this game so badly in a month and a half. Man.... at least they're making sure it'll live up to all the hype they're creating... even if they have to delay it.

This is so freakin' exciting! It's like ... my little first grade fantasy came true 16 years later! Happy days my friends! Happy days! I'm just... in awe to see Sonic in motion in those videos. I mean, there was speculation, but seeing him in action is .... *jaw drops* I'm so excited.

I'd imagine all this music will be in the final release outside of Japan, but weird that he wouldn't just show it to everyone... again, nice find, sir. You know, I just came to another realization... one day, these updates will stop. I'm so used to being online at 2 in the morning and getting the update. What am I going to do? Sleep? I should start planning. Haha. I guess I'll be playing Smash Bros Brawl. Teehee.

I just came to the realization that if I want Smash Bros Brawl to have the same shock factor that I'm expecting, I'm going to have to stop looking at the Brawl updates. I'm already hyped about this game... seeing all these updates, listening to the music.... I'm going to have to go on lockdown and not view them soon so I'll be surprised by everything in the game (small and big).

Yeah, you could control Tails in S2. It wasn't technically an official co-op mode, but you could do it and help out your friend playing Sonic. Sonic 3 actually gave you a coop mode though. This is pretty exciting. I wonder what that crpytic last sentence means exactly. That sounds pretty cool. I wonder if you can customize characters, or level them up in single player, somehow. Hmm. Interesting.

Are there any places selling new Wavebirds cheap? You know, retailers that haven't realized WaveBirds aren't obsolete yet. I know WalMart was selling corded GCN controllers pretty cheap... My Cube controllers are screwed, blued, and tatoo'd from close to 6 years of nonstop smash bros playing... DAMN MUSHY BUTTONS! GRAWR!

<3 this game. Been wanting it ever since I saw it previewing in Nintendo Power YEARS ago... saw a friend with a rom of it, but always wanted to play it on a real system. It's like StarFox and Gunstar Heroes mixed together. What's not to love?! That's right. Nothing. I love Treasure. I really do.

Neato. I wonder how this will work. If he may surpass even Ness, I doubt they'd remove or replace Ness. We have to find out if Lucas will surpass him (whatever surpassing entails... hopefully not replacing.) Anyway, if you ask me, Sakurai just confirmed Ness is in the game through his little comment. For one to surpass another, we'd have to have a confrontation... /my two cents

updated!!!! Tons of new stuff, it just needs to be mastered a little and I think I'll be more on track with it. go to my MySpace. I added a longer break a little bit of filtered drums, and another pad that really makes the melody sound much more full. I'm really liking how this one is turning out! Once the vocals are added in I think it will be killer.

@shadowolf Escape from New York was used a lot in MGS1... A LOT of references that Kojima has gone on record giving tribute to... after playing MGS1 go watch it. The little sub especially, a lot of scenes are tributes to the movie, snakes personage too, because Kojima was a fan. its hilariously awesome. Seriously, for a MGS fan its real cool. MGS2's Plissken was also a reference like you had up there. I dig it.

Okay, first of all, I'm sorry for essentially abandoning the internet. Second of all, I have a new WIP!!!!! It's very very early, and I just wanted to get my thoughts down into a file because I have been talking to a great vocalist that may be willing to lend her talents to this song. For those of you that don't know, this an early WIP of "The Best is Yet to Come" from Metal Gear Solid 1. You know, the real celticy theme. I swear, I'm going ti make this one real good. Promise. This is one of my most favorite themes in video games, so I have to do it justice. Everywhere I've been to has the same campus-wide policies for plagiarism where even copied sentences or phrases are considered plaigarism and are subject to student expulsion and possible legal action... actually, you know, you have a point. I love MGS, and pretty much know the game and the story back and forth, but ... for the life of me cannot remember where the theme is in the original game... besides some of the trailers they released for it. @JackKieser Plagiarism is merely taking something and claiming it as your own. Now there's a gray area, but we just don't know if the Tappy was influenced by the song, or if he tried to pull a fast one. There is no denying the song is similar (Very very similar). I disagree with you though, I do think there are more than enough similarities to justify looking into the situation more. If you listen to the 'Troika' and 'Zimdor' (which essentially use the same themes, one is quieter than the other), you'll think it's a variant of the Metal Gear Solid music... I know I did the first time I heard it. I have these songs in hand, and they're ridiculously close to the MGS theme. At the very least it's worth looking into ...

I certainly hope not. I don't imagine it would, because the MGS theme copied or not, will always be the MGS theme in my eyes. I have to many memories with that MGS series and that song, for it not to.

A lot of people have speculated that the reason we haven't heard the MGS theme for a while in the newer trailers or in Portable Ops was because of this, but that's just rumors. I remember hearing it in the original MGS4 trailer, but again, that was over a year ago... Additionally, in Smash Bros Brawl's website they premiered Snake's level music, the MGS4 Love theme, and not the classic Metal Gear Solid theme that we would expect to hear. I mean, clearly it may still be used, but still odd, which is just fueling the rumors. I do really wonder if Konami is phasing the song out and keeping it on the down low...
