Yeah, but I can always hope for more DK Country nods. lol. Is it me or did Zelda and Peach turn to stone when Petey slammed the cages together?
-
wow!! That's really cool!! The scenes we've seen so far are really epic!!! It's cool to see Rob in yet another game. Single player story information makes me happy. Petey Pirahnna was never a favorite of mine, but he looks pretty evil. Dude, he likes owns Peach and Zelda in those cages smashing them together. Damn, that's mean! haha. And where'd that cannonball come from? King K. Rool?

agree with you sir. I hope its not SO easy to do that you can't master it... I mean, no one would say they've mastered double jumping merely because "mastering" a simple double jump is ridiculously easy and .... just... it's not meant to be hard thus everyone does it. I hope that's not what the clawshot (and all the other tether recoveries become: just another special move.... not a wicked awesome way to recover because you've practiced pulling it off. you know the instant I saw Zero Suit Samus's tether recovery I thought they might have gone with the auto target to ledge thing (primarily by means of the diagnol plasma whip). I don't know if ZSS has the same autoledge targetting thing that Link's clawshot has, but my guess is that all characters able to do a tether recovery now have this kind of functionality. That's the first real gameplay mechanic alteration that I'm not too sure if I like. Don't really know how it works yet though, either. So more info would be cool. Now if it can home in on other things in the air, that would have some real use... I'm really curious about it all now. More questions! More questions! All in brain. Ahh.

I really don't think it should be easier, because when they make something "easier" often times it takes away more complicated scenarios that you could have once done ... I mean, I'm sure accessibility to use these types of techniques is useful for people that aren't used to Smash's mechanics, but seriously, It appears to be limiting when compared to Melee. And now that you can charge the spin attack for added damage, I'm willing to bet a quick up+b won't be nearly as powerful as it was in Melee. This is a huge change to the play mechanics for Link. I mean, you shouldn't be using the spin attack very much on the ground anyway, but still. It may increase his jump distance though. Those subtle changes will alter Link's playstyle a lot when you get down to the nitty gritty. May be for the best, or for the worst, but being a creature of habit that fears change, I'm in that adjustment phase. Hehe. May be cool. I'll give it a shot. Link was my main in Melee. Fox was 2nd. Haha, but I've already told everyone that I'm going to main Snake for brawl since I'm in love with the MGS series regardless of whether Snake sucks total ass or not. haha.

man, they jacked with the way the hookshot *ahem* I mean 'clawshot' fires... hell... it was not hard to aim... *grumble grumble* I liked how some official moves were a little tougher to use with precision in melee. I always had the hookshot thing down and could hit it right where I wanted it every time, but I'm a little sad that now it'll all be the same n00b moves that everyone can pull off. accessibility... sheesh. Hopefully you can still somehow get it to shoot like the old one... or else the hookshot is no longer as useful as it once was... hell, if your opponent knows you're hooking right on to the ledge EVERYTIME its practically useless.

I dunno. I kind of doubt that they'd take Ness out. He's been in both games. I mean, clearly we just don't know, they could remove him but I'm kind of feeling that they wouldn't remove a character that's already so unique that additionally was from the first game. But then again, I don't know what Sakurai will do... My money is on Ness coming back, but ... that's just my guess ... anything could happen. I think I'd be a little sad if Ness was gone.

Uh huh. K. lawl @ you. Hmmm... i wonder what her final smash is.
-
Was there ever any doubt that it wasn't confirmed? ... or was that sarcasm ?
-
Peach Confirmed on the site... ... for the idiots that said there wasn't enough proof... *shakes head in disdain* Peach is lookin' cool though! It's much better to see all the detail in these larger shots than that little video we got. The detail in the dress is crazy awesome.

Neato!!! I'm so glad to see more characters with this ability. I always loved playing as Link with that hookshot... Sheik should also have this ability with her whip and all. I always hoped that some crappy character (like Bowser) would get an awesome recovery of climbing a wall .... maybe with his claws... you know, the way Wolverine used to do it in the old Genesis X-Men games. Just sink your claws into the side of a wall and make a climb up. Maybe as you ascend you'd slow down in a few seconds and eventually fall, making it kind of a last ditch move like the hookshot or grapple hook. Seriously, I love this, they need more "special" kinds of recovery moves like the hookshot and plasma whip ( was that what Sakurai called it?). For real. Cool update. Zero Suit Samus keeps sounding better and better with every update!

' Well, it'll be cool to see some character art from old games, although, realistically this is pretty useless imo. What's the point? If I wanted to do this I could download a zillion different images from the net and just copy-paste them together in PhotoShop with more ease and more functionality. There has to be more to this. I don't believe Nintendo would put some "creation feature" into a game that does nothing more than waste space (and time). Sure, it might be fun, but maybe creating an online avatar or something? Maybe wallpaper for the background for the menus. There HAS to be something more to the whole sticker concept than just sticking stickers on to a piece of virtual paper and saving it... I mean even Camera mode could save interesting shots IN-GAME... I mean, this is just 2D images that you just place... that's it?! In fact, I BET THIS is the online component of Smash Bros! I bet you'll share these online... i bet that's what SSBB's "online functionality" will be (taking into account Nintendo's reluctance to pursue a real online gaming experience). Now if you could make levels and place stickers into those levels (like you can in the LittleBigPlanet video demonstrations) then that's useful little feature... but... just paper? Meh. It'll be fun to collect them, it was always fun unlocking something in Smash Bros Melee... but.. again, the concept is kind of "meh" for me.

This was a pikachu in one the links above. I thought it was kinda cool. http://annaj.deviantart.com/art/Pikachu-9232698

Well, Jesse James and Meowth were in Yellow version... Ash and pals were in Puzzle League on N64. Not to mention all the voices from the Pokemon themselves are from the show. So there is some kind of precedent that they don't mind borrowing from the show. Meh, they could make it happen if they wanted to. Not holding my breath, but if they really wanted to they could. It's all Nintendo's property. @ this update: Hmm, I'm willing to bet some scrolling stages will just see a change in current direction, while others will just be shifted a little. All stages probably have a set couple of directions you can go in. Shifts down in stationary stages will be annoying; the horizontal area to get knocked out of will be the same, but the distance you can go vertically will be greatly diminished. I doubt they would make it so that their is no platforms to land on... I don't think it makes sense to be like that... but... it IS the devil. This seems like it has a high propensity to get really annoying. It'll probably end up bunched with other moves people hate.... like Togepi's NightShade attack. Interesting, but... meh. Obviously, this pales in comparison to the wicked awesome Pokemon trainer announcement, but then again, almost anything probably will. Edit: that foosball is the devil.
-
I'm cool with that, but ... I have a special place in my heart for Jesse, James, and Meowth...... ... that's right.
-
okay I have to say it... I wouldn't mind a clone of the Pokemon Trainer. I know they've already said officialy that no more clones will be around, but ... Team Rocket ftw! Maybe an assist trophy.
-
Final Smash will be like 10+ Pokemon doing some giant combo attack. That's my guess.
-
... dude, it's going to be rock paper scissors thing. Squirtle will probably be all speed and the weaker of the three. Ivysaur will be balanced between speed and attack power, Charizard will be all heavy powerful yet slow attacks. That's how it will be. I have forseen the truth in my mind's eye! I am a little sad that it's not Ash, but here's hoping for an alternate color scheme wear he's got an Ash look. I hope we can hear the trainer scream out commands.... awesome times. EDIT: I'm kind of afraid to ponder how the Final Smash will work.........

Pokemon Trainer! Oh My God!!!!!!!!11111111 THAT IS HOLY FREAKIN' CRAP AMAZING! New battle style!! NEW ! This is the new kind of crap I WAS looking for! ! !_^___^^ happy. PLUS IT'S FREAKIN' POKEMON...! /fanboy /FANBOY!! OMG!

in one of the movies Link does that now when he's charging his smash.. it's in the videos. i've seen it with mine own eyes.

Im pretty sure that thunderbolt attack isn't a projectile... I think the simplest way to put it is that the Franklin Badge will protect you from things that could be reflected by Fox (...or absorbed by Ness... or also reflected by Zelda). >_< Theoretically though, if we were going to be REALLY story sensitive it would make the holder immune to most everything Pikachu's got, but there's no way in hell that's happening. cool. I'm diggin' the fact that you kind of wear this item. It's kind of like the bunny ears, but ... more wearable. This kind of makes me hope for more wearable items that have various enhancement and such.

True. When this stuff gets brought up I always remember a lot of Capcom's fighting games in the last 5 years... it's all jazzy and not the first kind of music you would originally expect in a game devoted entirely to fighting. Things will mesh well, I'm comfortable knowing that it's worked in the past.

Well, everyone had a blocking animation in Melee, just the bubble obscured it. Meh, I just thought it was one of those hard last minute shield usages where you hear like a thud upon impact and see no bubble. It could be Ike pulling up his sword after Aether and not reacting to the damage too. It's vanity shot... that's all it is.
-
haha!! PIT!! this is pretty cool, I can dig it. So they come out dash at people and attack. that's cool. I'm glad we're seeing some final smashes that aren't just uber versions of special attacks. Now some cool interesting things. I'm diggin Palutena. Look at those little Centurions... they're all over the background and everything... I bet this is one Final Smash that looks great in motion... I bet the pics don't do it justice. I'm digging it. Edit.... I'm kind of wondering if Palutena is a 3D model or a 2D image.... *shrugs*

But... that's where Wario's "WarioWare" themed level would come in..... it'd be trippy too! /alliteration EDIT: The music. Let me put my 2 cents down. They gave us stellar music in Melee and I want that same calibur of awesomeness to return. Synthesized music is often kind of bland and not nearly as expressive as the real thing... because it's not real. THEY CAN BE though... I'm cool with midi's, but make them damn good midi's... the Ocarina Medley on the SmashBros site was amazing, but.... this Kid Icarus one... not so much. Again I'm cool with Midi's as long as they're GOOD. Seriously, towards the end of the Kid Icarus song it sounds like a midi that someone has applied soundfonts to at the end... no lie. All those orchestra hits and stuff. I just don't want the audio quality from the second game to drop down a peg as the new one comes out. And I doubt that will happen, but... yeah, it does feel a little forced. That's all I'm saying.
-
Yeah the whole Twilight Princess recorded vs. midi thing does pop up in my head... I mean, I love TP, don't get me wrong, but there's a difference between the midi style classics from the Zelda series and some really nice recorded styles, like from, say, Shadow of the Colossus, and Smash Bros Melee. I feel like Nintendo has kind of fallen down a peg. I certainly hope they use real recordings as opposed to a MIDI version, because its just so much more dynamic and high quality. Brawl will be a great game, but when a developer has gone the extra mile to hire an orchestra and other musicians to get the themes really hammered out, it just makes the game that much more appealing... that much more refined and polished. I mean, I mentioned Shadow of the Colossus earlier; the music in that game REALLY adds to the entire package, it gives it that extra bit of polish that makes it a stellar game. I feel like most of Nintendo's games are a little behind the curve in this respect. There are exceptions that prove the rule, but ... generally speaking, Nintendo reeeally prefers midi over live recordings. ... I do wonder if the music they're releasing on the website is final and merely an arrangement of what a live recording will end up. Anyway, if the music isn't live, since they're more or less saving money by not having to hire live musicians, I hope that they're at least using that cash to make the game better in other aspects. If we get a ridiculously stellar game and a midi soundtrack I'm cool with that. The way its turning out, Brawl is already looking real awesome.
