  1. Don't know how I feel about this one..... I mean, the Kid Icarus music isn't the greatest, but compared to some of the themes we've already heard in Melee and from Brawl, this is isn't sounding too great imo. Yep, I have to agree, of all the songs I've heard this one I like the least... the main theme was okay, but the graveyard and death song I didn't like too much. Kinda sounds like something I might have heard in an upper echelon N64 title. :-/ There are better renditions of this song elsewhere.... I love ya Sakurai, my man, but I'm not not diggin this update. Try again.
  2. Yeah the Yoshi invulnerability is annoying, but then again it IS yoshi after all... hehe.

  4. That's cool. Interesting that some characters will be invulnerable from flying away during attacks. Shortly after the sword he won't flinch. Wow, but if he's invulnerable with his triple jump... wow... that can really help in getting back to the level when you've been knocked off. That's a REALLY good ability to have, it will change the dynamics of edge-guarding a little when playing against Ike. Additionally, battles with heavy characters are going to be really interesting now with that no flinching deal. Cool. Even though they've always been real powerful, I always thought that heavy characters were at a disadvantage to the lighter characters just because their slowness really hindered their ability to fight back. An increased damage taking ability will really improve them. That's the most interesting part of this update I think..... okay, well, that an Aether. =) And I also have to give props on the character animations. They LOOK good so far... reallllly good, but as fast as Smash Bros is, I wonder if we'll even notice them.
  5. I'm happy to see items that change up the strategy of the game a little. It seems like they're really pushing that idea of setting "traps" and using strategies to lure your opponents towards certain areas ... I can see some real interesting uses for the smoke.... I mean if you put that on a small ledge while someone is trying to recover, it could really mess with you... that is, if the smoke actually covers things well... I'm unsure if Sakurai has allowed the smoke to remain there relatively transparent so that we can see people are running around under the smoke, or if it is indeed relatively easy to see through. I guess the more smoke balls and colors you have the more chaotic it would end up.
  6. Neato. Smoke nades. That's a cool idea, I never thought about it being in Smash Bros, but I can see some cool shenanigans occuring from it. Thumbs up. Good update... although it'll be hard to top last Friday's.
  7. That's true. At first I was like... *gasp* this is Heavenly Sword? Crap. but... then I started playing through the demo again and again and understanding how the fighting system worked and it's actually really cool. It's not really interesting until you know what you're doing... and the game doesn't help itself. I mean they give you a lengthy written button config entry on the menu, but a tutorial for the demo would have been nice. It was just "meh" for me too before I started really getting down how combos and counters worked. I played the GRAW2 demo, and was really unimpressed. The demo was interesting, but seriously, it felt like it was a dumbed down port of the Xbox360 version... clearly wasn't using the full potential of the ps3. I might need to open a Japanese account. . . .

  9. Even if clone characters are scrapped it brings up more questions. Do the orignial clone stay? Will they be removed? Get their own movesets? OR will the original clones stay and future ones stay out? anyway, I'll take it all with a grain of salt. .... and a wag of the finger at that SonicBrawl YTMND entry...
  10. NOW I REMEMBER! It reminds me of Rocket Knight Adventures... but that wasn't on Nintendo.... Sparkster was on SNES, but I believe it was all Lizards by that point... so I dunno... *shrugs* Looks like it's shootin' something. We know Konami is involved... what if Sparkster made a return? I know it cannot happen since that game occurred on the Genesis, but that pig really reminds me of some of the shooting turrets that had pig heads on it... anyway... There are tons of clues to game information and enemies in this single update we just need to see if any people recognize anything. Someone already graciously posted that Kid Icarus pic earlier of the ghostly female character Pit is looking at.
  11. well, if there are videos that push the story along like sakurai says I'd imagine adventure mode in brawl will be kind of an amalgam of the melee event matches and melee's adventure mode... you probably play as multiple characters through out the entire mode... thats my guess, but it's pure speculation... it's all awesome though. Wow. Very cool. Some of those pics are really interesting to look at... far more dramatic than any of the stuff I've seen from Nintendo... the angles and everything. Wow. Cool. Edit: I am so happy to see that they're fleshing out Smash bros, and not just doing what worked in the past. Seems like we'll be getting a game filled to the brim with stuff to do. I wonder if there will be voice acting.......................

  14. Where'd you get the GRAW2 demo? I don't think I recalled seeing it on the Playstation Store... is it available for download somewhere else? I'm pretty satisfied with my PS3. It's got WAY more play-time so far than my cherished Wii. And I'm excited after Sony's E3 showing. But its true that the Xbox360 is the only system not going through a drought right now...

  16. wow, that PhotoShop manipulation shows an area that looks a lot like some of the areas in Fire Emblem (on GBA) where monsters were. Hmm. Cool. This is pretty cool update, I had a hunch that those statues were in that level. I'm happy to see floors breaking and stuff. I hope its at least as entertaining as things were in the Dead or Alive series when stuff would break. From the looks of it, it seems really entertaining with all the stuff going on in the background, crumbling statues and catapults. Cool stuff. Really cool stuff. *stoked*
  17. http://strike911.sanctuslegacy.com/Strike911-StalkingTheWatchman.mp3 Okay, so as of late I've been kind of trying to add my own sound and style to remixes and such, but I decided that this time I was going to try to do something a little more mainstream sounding ... something more like traditional trance (I have a way of wanting to add strange things that don't belong in trance into my mixes...meh, go fig. It either sounds okay or it bombs, lol. No inbetween.) So I took the conservative route and made something with a huge build up and just a traditional, conservative trance song. It's still a work in progress and is nowhere near final but it's nice to touch base back on the stuff I was originally trying to make when I first starting mixing... before I decided to try different things on for size.... anyway, please have a listen and if you want tell me what you think. I know it needs some mastering badly and probably a better ending, but I'm still working on it, so please bare with me. Hope everyone likes it, I've spent a lot more time on it than I was originally expecting to.

  19. Wait, isn't Ike also supposed to be in the new Fire Emblem game coming out on the Wii? I'd be kind of sad if Marth was gone... so many memories from Smash. Although, it would be cool to see some mages or a theif sneak there way into the roster, since it seems a lot of characters are using swords... *shrugs*
  20. I love Fire Emblem, but I think there are some better well-known characters that need some love on the new roster. I mean lets face it, Fire Emblem is one of Nintendo's lesser known (or played) titles when you compare it to the Pokemon series, Zelda, and the almighty Mario franchise... Still though, I'm hella excited for Ike. I'd put my money on seeing a whole slew of Fire Emblem characters as assist trophies... there's a lot of options there. ... and hell, there are so many people with bad attitudes in this thread, it's a bit depressing.

Okay, with Smash Bros Brawl on the horizon, I was just itching to make a Smash Bros remix... and I'm in the middle of remixing the main theme from Smash Bros.... you know, the one that is in the opening movie in Melee. Yeah, you know it. http://strike911.sanctuslegacy.com/strike911_ssbm_wip.mp3 I just wanted something really dance-y and a little trance-y, but with a real groovy feeling. Lots of "y"s in that last sentence. Anyway, have a listen. =) Please keep in mind this is only a WIP, but if you have any suggestions or anything lemme' know! I always wanted to remix this song and I'm pretty satisfied with the way this EARLY EARLY EARLY wip has turned out. Your comments are appreciated a hundred times over.
