  1. Updated! I added more, additionally I added the De Rol Le boss music (Caves boss) at the end. Which I need some assistance in deciding whether to remove the theme .... I personally feel the Vol Opt theme (the original one in the beginning) sounds a little stronger... *shrugs* You guys tell me. I'm really thinking about removing the last bit... it doesn't sound quite right, I don't think the notes are correct... Hmm... the moer I think about it the more I don't like it. Update is at the same link as the first post. =)
  2. I thought the general consensus was that that was a Fire Emblem related insignia? Bowser looks cool. Although, not really excited by this update. Never played as Bowser. I think the more important piece of information is when Sakurai mentions : "If you think [the characters are] all going to be the same as they have been, it’ll be rough for you." I think that's pretty much a confirmation that any "tiers" or theoretical systems of balance (or imbalance) that were in existance from Melee, will drastically be altered. I'm willing to bet we'll see some major balancing going on that will change a lot of dynamics regarding what characters will get played the most. Could this mean the erradication of tiers by balancing, or merely the shifting of tiers where we see characters like "Fox" and "Marth" replaced by characters that were originally thought poor choices (IE "Pichu" etc.). I'm not saying any of these examples specifically, again, they're merely examples. I mean, very few people used Bowser that I knew of, and everyone else I talked to seem to agree that they didn't play (or know people) that played well with Bowser in Melee. So do you think they'll be balancing him out to be a contender with more popular character choices? It'll be interesting to see who gets dumbed down and who gets a little better. I know a perfect balance isn't possible, but a little more balance will never hurt. Especially with characters that few people played with!!! All in all this news makes me happy.
  3. I know, seriously. What the hell were those crazy bastards thinking. I'm just tired of all of Nintendo's bullshit. You know what they should do? They should just stop making any new Smash Bros games altogether, sign on as a subsidiary of Square and make another game like Smash bros, but with all FF characters. Geez, all this turtle and mushroom BS. That shit never sells.
  4. Seems completely logical, well thought out, unbiased, and above all else, very fair to everyone else that plays Smash Bros. and lol @ Atma.
  5. I think Bosses from any Nintendo games are good candidates. There is a high volume of bosses from all these games, they're obscure yet retain a personality that is (usually) unique. I mean what about Minardi or Saturos from Golden Sun, highly interesting characters but not well known enough for a playable character slot imo. A whole slew of Fire Emblem characters can fit in this area too. Perhaps some Pokemon gym trainers (again, sidenote, I'm really hoping for Jesse and James from Team Rocket! You can't tell me those two (plus meowth) wouldn't be awesome... and a great choice to boot). Hmm, I'd be willing to bet we'll see a ton of Zelda characters... so many, but also characters like Petey Pirahnna, possibly Donkey Kong Jr. Andross would be interesting in evil scientist Monkey form! If Ganon isn't a playable character then GANON... in giant pig form. Eggplant Wizard maybe? There are A LOT of characters from Super Mario RPG that you could pick... seriously... tons. ... you know I wish they had regular baddies show up more frequently (LIKE THEY DID IN MELEE EXCEPT MORE OFTEN...) but now I'm off topic. Man, I would freak if Mother Brain from the Captain N TV show suddenly appeared...
  6. There's no way that no shields will ever happen. Shielding has been a giant part of Smash since the N64. CPU players also very rarely use shields in Melee, and when they do you can't see them. No doubt in my mind that they're still in. None. Man!! Hammer BroS! Sweetness!! And Samurai Goroh!! Very cool. It's like an infinitely cooler PokeBall! I mean, if you have to run away from invincible characters, that kills the idea of them being NPCs that fight alongside you. They must be just like Pokeballs, but that's pretty cool still. I guess this does verify that Samurai Goroh isn't playable though... so bad times, but ... good times too. Interesting update! ALTHOUGH, i wish they were simple, strong NPCs that would fight alongside you like a regular character. But... meh, its cool... I don't know quite how I feel about this, I know the fanboy inside of me is raging because we'll see a lot of cool interesting Nintendo characters showing up, but then again, we'll lose a few playable characters that we were trying to guess. I wonder who's next? Ridley? Team Rocket? I would be a happy camper if Team Rocket showed up. Seriously, with the whole "Jesse-James-Meowth that's right" SHABANG! You know, this might be a good idea. So you know, at first I thought, we were getting some sham of an item, but after I think it through, its actually a cool idea... hopefully there are a lot of little small characters from games that we love in there. I mean, little characters like the Skull Kid, Peppy or Slippy? Maybe we'll see Saasrahla hand us boots, or Zoras, gorons... Toad? the Koopa Kids? Maybe some Pikmin? Hahahahaha.... and why isn't the Nintendog or the Hammer Bro listed as another Assist Trophy? Are they going to make another bogus update with the Nintendogs and just tell us more info that we already know. I hope not. I'm satisfied though with this update. It's nice to see lots of new stuff like this in one nice update!
  7. Teching is catching yourself on a surface from a previous hit. Hit one of the shielding buttons (L or R) right before you hit the surface and you'll recover and not bounce or anything. It's a life saver. Additionally, you can jump and hit the shield button and you'll do a jump from the recovery instead of just stopping.
  8. Es Possible, in fact, that could be a real big possibilty. I mean, we know Snake can get to the crouch position by doing his roll, so it would be feasible to assume that he is in transition to a crouch while moving!!!! In fact, besides wavedashing/physics systems, that seems like the most logical reason we have PLUS since we've seen snake jump into a crouched position already in the trailers. I'm willing to bet they've thrown in some things like that... I mean, there are a lot of button combos that haven't been used. We have double tap forward (or backward) to dash, but we have no double tap down? What if that could initiate a stance change into crouching? Hmm. It would be cool if you could do some kind of a sliding attack down slopes though like you mentioned Johnny. I guess could be anything... or a combination of things...

Anyway, I wanted to emphasize the mechanical giant robot/computer nature of the boss so that's what I'm going for. Something techie sounding. Anyway, here's a VERY short WIP of what I have. I'll be adding more to it hopefully. Phantasy Star Online does not get enough love, fo rilla. Anyway, please tell me what you think thus far. I appreciate your feedback.

It could be possible that you can get a running start and use a jump to increase speed or something, kinda like Mario's double/triple jumps in Mario 64 and New Super Mario Bros. *shrugs* Just thinking out loud. My bet is that they've made wavedashing a little easier to accomplish... I mean, that'd be pretty bad ass if your speed while hitting someone increased damage... but then again I'm not holding my breath at that prospect, because, quite frankly, I would die... probably won't happen. That'd be one sweet little detail though. Then you could get a running start and do more damage at a full speed sprint, rather than just starting a run. *shrugs* but then again that would mess with running speeds and things like that... unless you gained speed the longer you were in a run... *shrugs* whatev. So are there any other useful physics things going on that you people would like to see? I mean, I'm not expecting the Source engine type stuff, but hell, that'd be real cool to see crap piling up and reacting realistically to impacts and explosions. In fact, I half expected things like that in Melee when they said they were going to have "advanced physics" back before Melee even came out. hehe. I think a really nice physics system would really make this game feel fresh while keeping its old school and fun feel.

It's not really synthpop per-se, but I'm not sure which genre it fits into... meh, anyway, have a listen. If you know an accurate genre then please let me know. =) There is a guitar, a bass, piano (for the classic Policenauts theme), and some other crap mixed in. Hehe. Have a listen and tell me what you think. It's still just a WIP, but yeah, a nice little preview. EDIT: I hate that freakin' slayer vst... grumble grumble.
  14. Hmm... well, to me it looks like the other players can use it as a throwable item, since thats what it looks like Mario is doing. Haha. That's awesome. I wonder if you can start driving it, then jump off while the bike still has inertia/movement and bike-i-cide it into people. That is sweet. Man, I'm loving Wario!!! Man, Wario is bad ass. That is awesome. I love him!!!! I can imagine all the fun "Wario ExciteBike" will be in levels like Hyrule Temple!!!!!!!!!!!!! Motorcycle jumps will be good times!! I hope he has some bad ass pose in the air. haha. ^______________________^
  15. Yes but Nintendo has officially come out and said that online mode WILL NOT be the same as regular multiplayer that we're all used to. Someone official said this, although I don't have the interview handy. I did read it though a few months ago. Nintendo is way behind in the multiplayer aspect of things. For crying out loud, look at the Xbox and Xbox360. It caters to communicating. Nintendo needs to look at XboxLive's business model and improve their (lack of) online service... for real. This is an issue that should have been dealt with last generation... not to mention Reggie said in an interview that they dropped the ball in the online aspect and that now that he has more of an issue and is in charge he'll not let that happen again... but seriously, I don't see this situation changing any time soon. You lie Reggie! YOU LIE!

I understand if they're fleeing that its the cops job to take them down, but seriously, the choking business, the grabbing around the neck and like he did with those two kids, really doesn't look good... at all. I respect the police for being out doing a dangerous job, but something about this just strikes me as excessive. The kids were doing everything wrong, arguing, not complying with the officer, AND RUNNING... but I don't think that justifies the cops behavior. ...

  20. I don't get it. Save your controls, woohoo. I don't know. I'm not satisfied with this update, cool that you can modify your buttons, but... still that's a feature we had in games back in the SNES days... although I think it's nicer to see how the interface looks... And it looks like we're still stuck with names that are only four letters long still... Seriously... they showed us how you input letters.... this update is a stretch.... hehe. ^_~ Meh, interface is good to see though. I guess its okay, we got a couple sweet updates in a row, so I guess this was to be expected. No worries.

  22. I'm happy to see the banana peel in there, but ... really its just a proximity mine .... well... kinda... Hmm. I mean, I'm happy its there, its a nice homage to Mario Kart, but... I dunno, I wonder if it has any special attributes or effects on its victims. Clearly you fall over, but i yowonder if you're running and hit one if u fall forward and slide... or what.. if the pic is any viable reference then it looks like the peel stays there even after someone falls on it... seeing as how its next to Kirby.... I hope there's some squishy sound effect when you slip on it. hehe. Meh, fun item. I bet they're saving up the REAL good stuff ... for some reason I feel that there will be a ridiculous amount of items in this game...
  23. I don't think all of them will be orchestrated... I would love for them to, but I don't think its been confirmed .... I was under the impression that they were going to have a lot of orchestrated songs, but would also have a mix with other songs that weren't...
