  1. Sixto Sounds Game: Mega Man 9 Track: Flash in the Dark (Wily Stage 1) My second track for the Mega Man 9 project. This was actually a track I had planned on dropping but at the very last minute decided to give it a go. I wanted a kind of anime-intro-song feel and I'm pretty happy with it. ---------------------------------
  2. A sub from the xmas album. Exact same verison. I was gonna make this an original, and then heard in Flickerfall's dkc2 track a source melody I had used in my track (0:26, in my otherwise original melody), so I turned it into a remix. The original in question was one of my test tracks for learning Omnisphere. Dunno if it's passable source-wise, as the source is kind'a just laid on top of an original track. But I'm no judge. -----------------------

  4. Andrew really got this one. Great sources to work with, and I like the warm sort of songtale feel you've got going on here, but right now it needs a little more emotion to really make it come alive. I'd like to see you work with more of the dynamics, and maybe a few rubato sections will help out as well. The sources are used well, but I'd like to see more interpretation to add more flavor also. NO (resubmit)
  5. Really nothing I can add to what OA has already said. This is fun to listen to, and awesome that you recorded it all live, but it's too much of a cover for OCR. I'd love to hear either this or another track from you that has more interpretation, but this one has to be a NO (resubmit?)
  6. I'm on the fence with this one. To me, I am hearing all of the issues that Andrew brought up and agreeing with them for the most part, but the balance especially isn't working for me. A lot of times I feel like I'm not sure what to focus on, because there isn't an instrument taking the lead. I think you need to look at this one again and tweak the levels a bit, and it will be good to go. NO (please resubmit)
  7. I think Andrew hit this one on the nose; it was a cool idea to incorporate the two sources together, and I think you did a good job with it, but the synths aren't cutting it. Add to that the somewhat mechanical sections and balance, and it's coming up short here. Hope you fix this up and send it in again, NO (resubmit)
  8. Going to agree with Fishy on this, I think there's a lot you have to work with in the sources, and right now the connection is based on that one riff used throughout. I would like to hear a lot more of the source used, especially in the beginning buildup where there is no source reference at all. NO (resubmit)
  9. Nothing new to add here. I like the combination of themes here. As Halc said, this follows a more conservative route, but there is plenty of expansion and metalz for all. Dig it. YES
  10. Very little to add to what Andrew has said. This is excellent, and really nice to listen to, except that some of the sequencing isn't polished. I'm going to guess it's because you weren't able to fully finish. Transitions are excellent between the themes, and there's a lot of detail packed into your soundscape. Too bad you didn't get to fully finish, but regardless this is pretty awesome. YES
  11. Nothing really to add; it's certainly pretty, both source and mix, but too close to the original. NO (resubmit)
  12. I think the piano sound adds to the mystery of the mix, actually. Aside from that, you have approached an unusual source to mix, and I think you did so very effectively. Very creepy to listen to, and the emotion in your playing really adds extra to it. Nice work. YES
  13. Not much to add onto what Halc said, although I think it's an easier pass than he made it out to be. Arrangement is solid, and the effects are used well. None of the sounds seem out of place to me. Agreed that 2:35 is a little crowded, but certainly not enough to bring it to a no. YES
  14. Gotta say, listening to this felt way faster than 5:10. It's probably because it's awesome. Love all the elements you have in here, and the vocals are incorporated well. I thought the source was clear, and approached appropriately. Great overall use of orchestral and more mainstream synths/instruments. Awesome
  15. Really digging the sources, they remind me of Breath of Fire music, so that was pretty cool. You've taken on a difficult undertaking by trying to fit so many sources into one mix without sounding like a medley. In terms of that, I think you did pretty well, as the track as a whole doesn't sound disjointed. On the other hand, however, I felt like a lot of the source playing was somewhat conservative, and overall could use more of your own interpretation. Production is ok, but I felt like things were overall muddy, and could stand to be cleared up a lot, rhythm guitars and drums especially. I like your start here, you'd just have to take it further for it to be accepted. NO (resubmit)
  16. Like how you treated the original. Funk definitely works for this. There's a few things I feel are holding this back as is. First is that I feel it is a little light on source overall (maybe I am missing something?), although a lot of the original parts you created sound like they would fit right in. The other part is that the entire track is running a little loud, with some clipping/distortion at points. Good to see you subbing again, hope to see more from you, NO (resubmit)
  17. Listened to this a few times, and I'm torn on this. I know there's a lot going on in terms of arrangement; you've done a pretty nice breakdown. At times things are feeling pretty straightforward/conservative, and at other times it feels like you've got a lot more going on. I think in the end it's going to come down to the sound quality, which right now I feel like the sound isn't as encompassing as I'd like. The guitars overall seem to be at a good level, but the background feels a little too quiet at times. Choir of death is nearly inaudible though. Honestly, I'd cut it out of the sub version if it's only going to be that loud. I'm curious to what the other Judges will think on this, but I will give it a tentative YES for now.
  18. Justin pretty much has this, but I'd like to add that your original sections are often similar between the source sections. I'd like to see you branch out more in your arrangement overall. NO (resubmit)

Remixer name: TheGuitahHeroe Game: Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team Song: "Run Away" Remix name: "Runaway Faith" Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=51IYbIU18cc Not much to say about this really. I got some pretty strong inspiration for this from a video I found on youtube ( ). I love the original, and from watching this came the thought that the only way the original could POSSIBLY be any more emotional is if it were simplified. QUEUE PIANO. It's still not as emotional, but one can try. . . right?? Thanks to everyone at the WIP forum for helping me out with this, as well as everything else that I make
  21. Contact Information Your ReMixer name - Anti-Syne Your real name - Jack Lewis Your userid - 31863 Submission Information Name of game arranged: Sonic 2 Name of individual song arranged: Boss Theme (Robotnic's Theme) I seem to be submitting tracks in pairs these days, first two from FF8, now two from Sonic 2. Well anyway, given this is a ReMix of Robotnik's theme, I thought I'd make it sound as Robotic as possible (genius no?), so it's full of distorted synths, mechanical sounds and heavy drums, to make it sound like (as the name suggests) it's in a factory. Hope you enjoy! ---------------------

  23. Hello, I would like to submit my orchestral arrangement of music from the Sega Master System version of Wonderboy In Monster Land. It's a medley of the Main Theme, Boss and Round Complete tunes - basically what one would hear on a playthrough of the entire first round of the game, including some brief sound effect samples. The original composer is Shinichi Sakamoto. My arrangement is titled "Welcome To Monster Land". My ReMixer name is gregglesaurus Real name: Greg Baker Email address: gregglesaurus@gmail.com Website: gregglesaurus.com Comments: Wonderboy In Monster Land is one of my most favourite and best remembered games from the SMS, and one of the main factors of this is because of the delightful, happy music contained within. I sometimes like to play the game, just to hear the music. I believe music and sound are vital elements as to the success of a video game as a whole. I created this using GarageBand, and then switching to Logic Pro, using the GarageBand Orchestra JamPack sounds. After finally completing it, I was going to post a link to it onsmspower.com, but discovered they had just announced their "annual" music competition, so submitted it in the competition. It won first place, which I'm very happy about. I hope you enjoy it, and that it provides a valued contribution and enjoyable experience for video game music lovers everywhere. Kind regards, Greg Baker ---------------- - all I could find
