Mega Man X: The Sigma Fortress Remix Gauntlet 2015
KingTiger replied to DarkeSword's topic in Competitions
Yeah actually my complaint with the drums has nothing to do with the clickiness :/ I think they sound good that way in your track. -

Yeah all the above... If you have transient issues, find the instruments causing them and get them under control with good compression. *Then* do your master. -
Mega Man X: The Sigma Fortress Remix Gauntlet 2015

It appears that the theme for this new group of tracks is Chiptune & Rock Here's some reviews for the round 1 entires: Yami: cool groove, nice instrument choices, and the production's pretty clean Eino Keskitalo: Love this! Wish I could discern the lyrics a bit better, but the production overall is pretty clean and the sequencing & arrangement rocks (pun intended)! Esperado: Although you have some cool sounds going on here, the mix needs to be better balanced, and your leads & pads need some EQ & compression to help accomplish that. The track also feels a bit empty and could use some more excitement/movement going on. Jason Covenant: wut this is pretty cool, but I feel like the mix (especially the vocals) has some piercing highs going on that need to be controlled. Otherwise a great arrangement. SuperiorX: Smooth as hell, like always Yoshiblade: Cool grooviness and neat synth work, as I would expect from you. Only complaint is that the kick could be more present, probably could use some compression and more "click" and maybe some "whack" in the eq (see this page for help: http://www.benvesco.com/blog/mixing/2007/mix-recipes-kick-drum-eq-and-compression/).Also when you do the eq sweeps near the end the track volume needs to be more consistent. (The master on this sounds pretty decent, who'd you learn that from? ) Sir_NutS: daaaaang, this is tight. Glitch hop FTW (although I thought you were exclusive to spacey dream trance? ) No complaints here. Trism: I'm impressed with your growth with your production, man. Groove is pretty cool here and I like your drum groove & and synth work. Sounds like some elements could use some more compression, though. Ivan Hakstok: Great rock track, as usual. Things sound a bit muddy and uncompressed to me though. pu_freak: Some really cool stuff going on here but needs better production. I don't mind discussing my thoughts or giving further explanation to my reviews, so feel free to ask! -

Yup, for each "block" or group of 3 weeks, each team member has to take 1 week. That being said, it is my turn this week! And I'm honestly rather glad because this is a cool theme! -

Thanks Shariq and rnn! -
Thanks for the kind words, Yosh1PrisMa! But scratch what I said in the first post, I can hear a few areas where it needs some compression and EQ (that bass!).

So I'm finally going back and revisiting my other tracks from the WCRG compo in 2013... wondering what people's thoughts are on this one. https://soundcloud.com/kingtiger/prototype-2-galaxy-man-and I feel like it's pretty close as it is, could use a bit of clean up with some of the vocals, but I really don't think there's much that needs changing; looking (listening) back everything seems pretty clean already. That being said, I know I am often wrong (no! really?), so tell me what you hear!

The Damned, could you please put A-Ron and me down for a WarioWare track? -

What's the ideal deadline for this? 3rd quarter, 4th quarter? I'd love to make something from Wario Ware but if you're looking at like a month or less I can't. If you're looking at longer, put me down for a claim from Wario Ware - I'll pick a specific source later. EDIT: you know, it really helps when you read page two of a thread. I see someone already asked to take WarioWare, so I guess I'm out. I'd be happy to collab with someone though, if they want -

KingTiger replied to Brandon Strader's topic in Recruit & Collaborate!
I'd love to jump on the Altin Flood source. Also, here's a great GS wiki that has every single song listed along with where it plays in both games!: http://goldensunwiki.net/wiki/Music And Beth, I'd love to be a part of your chorus for your track, if you're still doing that. -
Someone needs to revive the CMC, when it was running I never participated and I wish I could now.

RWS 3-6: Iron Remixer Challenge: TAL-NoiseMaker
KingTiger replied to MindWanderer's topic in Competitions
I re-read the rules and want to make sure we're in line here: I had YoshiBlade send me his stems so I could clean up the track's production, is that okay? I also contributed some drums which really just followed the drum loop he already had. -

Just replied, sorry for the wait. Also, in my message I said "TAS" and I meant "TAL," the secret ingredient. -

Yoshiblade, if you're needing a Star, I'll jump in. I assume you can add simple audio files into your mix? I use Logic, so if it's allowed, I can make the synth patch, export the stem, and send it to you to add to your mix. Just sequence a track and export it as a MIDI file and I'll re-do it with TAL, then export it as a wav or aiff and send it back to you. That sound good? EDIT: I know I'm a few days late on this, sorry -.- but if you're still down, so am I. -
Okay I'm in. I claim this source from Bleach Heat the Soul 3: http://downloads.khinsider.com/game-soundtracks/album/bleach-heat-the-soul-3/bankai-renji-vs-byakuya.mp3 Sorry, couldn't find a YouTube video of it. As I work on it I'll decide if I want to turn it into an opening song.
