  1. Jeez, no kidding. I had a Level 27-28ish version of a Conference Call and even without an amp shield Normal Mode became really easy. I've heard TVHM is brutal, but those two items together sound positively nuts. Also, finally beat playthrough 1 last night. Will probably try TVHM soonish. Said Conference Call shredded the final boss too, it was insane. I'll never have a hard time beating that boss if I pass that shotgun between my characters, that's for sure.
  2. Happy Birthday, Starla! Hope it's a good one.
  3. Yeah, Flynt's not easy. Like Brandon said, go grind a level or two and just keep searching for a better firearm. Depending on your playstyle, I would suggest a decent Jakob's revolver or Sniper Rifle, or any halfway decent machine gun. Just remember to use cover, and don't try to bum-rush Flynt when your shields are low, because your shields are the only thing that can protect you from flames reasonably well. And as a commando, if Flynt does get close, drop your Sabre turret behind him so he has to choose which target to attack. This can make him surprisingly vulnerable and such baiting works against many enemies in this game.
  4. The problem is that the Accuracy score only applies to a shot that's not affected by recoil. Hip-firing a semi-automatic double action revolver is going to produce intense amounts of recoil. Iron-sighting lowers your recoil issues somewhat, but Borderlands 2 significantly increased the impact of Recoil in general. The issue with Hyperion weaponry that I've encountered is that their first initial shot suffers from massive recoil, but every subsequent shot suffers from much less, so while your first and final shots may land well, the ones right after the first might not. Another viable option for you would be to get in up close and personal with low magazine size shotguns and use your damage boost on those, which will probably shred your enemies into a fine red mist. Failing that, try to get the Steady as She Goes talent, or whatever it was to give you 80% Recoil Reduction while in Gunzerk.
  5. I picked up the game as well and have been going through as Axton. He plays a lot like Roland did, except his turret is actually good at fighting and can actually be destroyed. I agree with the sentiment that it's more of of the same, for the most part. However, the samey stuff that was in the first game is overall done just way better in this one. The environments are a *hell* of a lot prettier to look at, the guns are all very distinct and unique looking for the most part, and that there's a lot of weapons that do just plain wacky shit. Also, I came across this last night: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=97592526 ...And yup, that gun never runs out of bullets. Ever.
  6. Color me impressed on the Ace Combat achievements. Neither of those medals are easy to get, though I intend to try for both eventually. I did beat Pixy in the F-4E Phantom II on Very Hard. Not Ace, though.
  7. This is part of what I love about this topic, is getting to see the variety of answers even for a single game. I actually really liked that fight set piece myself. It was challenging but a good test of skill up until that point. Of course, I played on Normal so I had the Counter notifications, and not having those when playing on Hard would make that considerably worse. So I definitely could see how that part might've been very annoying.
  8. It's not that it's hard. Or frustrating. I beat it my first try, actually. It's just extremely tedious and boring for a game that's usually much more interesting than that. The very end of it is good, but the rest of it's just dull. ...Though I didn't think of using the line launcher. That would've been smart. :V
  9. Triforce hunting in Wind Waker's definitely up there. But the Arkham Asylum/City games have a couple of grating moments. Asylum is pretty much stellar start-to-finish with the exception of the Killer Croc fight. Honestly, that's just really tedious. City has any part where you have to ride on any platform floating in water and using the Batclaw to pull yourself around. Blemishes on two really great games. Also, I'm not a fan of the boss fights that expect you to battle unarmed in the Dead Rising series either.
  10. This is how I personally look at it. Sonic needs a car. To make it fair for everyone else.
  11. Quoted for Emphasis. But seriously, I think that trailer sold me on wanting to see that movie. I loved all those villain cameos and actually laughed when Clyde turned blue. XD
  12. Yeah, this. Their champs are gonna sell regardless of whether they're OP or balanced, and even if they're OP they usually get nerfed in line within a couple of weeks and then they're generally counterable.
  13. You guys totally need to make a Boatmurdered styled LP out of this succession game. It could really be funny. Also, I too offer up my name for some poor Dwarf to use. XD
  14. Seconding this. The whole point is to encourage early-game aggression and give champions who have a good early game a chance to get an immediate leg up and to remain competitive later on in the team-fight phase. Aggression is the theme of this patch and the recent changes. They don't want you hanging back just playing coy cat-and-mouse games with your opponent. They want you to play intelligently, but they want to reward intelligent risk-taking, which is pretty much a theme in this whole game.
  15. Honestly, I think I first really got into Metroid with Metroid Prime, followed quickly by Fusion, though I had seen Super Metroid played cover to cover by a friend years prior. And I had occasionally played Metroid up at visits to relatives' houses but I never got anywhere significant. Both Fusion and Prime were incredibly fun, and I loved the atmosphere of both Tallon IV and the science ship. I found Fusion incredibly punishing at the time, having not really played a 2D Metroid before. I soldiered through it and beat it though. I quickly grew enamored with the series. Since then I've tried to play through the original, Super Metroid, Echoes, and Corruption. I don't recall beating any of the other ones, but I adored Super Metroid and found Corruption to be pretty good. Echoes... eh... although it has a very similar feel to the original Prime in gameplay, I just haven't found Aether particularly compelling so much as really, really irritating. The gameplay is still solid and high quality, but I don't find it to be nearly as fun. I love this series. Very few others have done atmospheric this well, and I kind of hope they go back to a more minimalistic style of storytelling, or one like Prime where it's only as much as you want by scanning stuff.
  16. The problem with this is it's a vicious cycle and circular logic. The systems don't sell themselves without games, and as it's been gone over in the thread it's a granted Nintendo had no Triple A launch title. But at the same time, when the 3DS was announced it was something of a darling for developers. It's just that many developers were slow in making release, made a "meh" game, or just backed out because they didn't have the stomach to take a chance. A system needs games to sell. Developers pulling out early and canning titles isn't necessarily Nintendo's fault in its entirety. But Legends 3, if fan reaction was any indication? It was going to be a killer app for the 3DS upon its release. Its cancellation still makes very little sense to me on the basis of sagging 3DS sales.
  17. Quoted For Emphasis. I kind of wish Nintendo could bitchslap Capcom around for it. But they can't really, so it's just pie-in-the-sky thinking. ...I had been planning to get a 3DS anyway, but Legends 3 getting the axe really hurt my desire to get it. I was planning on getting one in August anyway, though, and the news of the price drop has re-enticed me into picking it up. I'll miss out on the ability to purchase Metroid Fusion on the VC there but... eh. I love Fusion, but it's not worth 80 bucks to me. It may take awhile to get the AAA titles (Super Mario and Mario Kart) and the Star Fox 64 remake but I need a replacement for my ailing DS Lite, so once the price drop hits, I'll be grabbing one.
  18. Damn. There's no way in hell I can make that this year. I got work until like 4, and there's no way I can make it through the Beltway from NoVA to Baltimore and make it in time during Friday Rush Hour. I'll be around in Otakon on Saturday, though, and I'll be wearing my OCR shirt. So if any of you see me, come up and say hi!
  19. I was late getting on the Legends bandwagon, relatively speaking. ...But even being late, I've been looking forward to a Legends 3 for more than 7 years. There are not many franchises out there that hold their fans as long as Legends has. There are always die-hards and nostalgia for older franchises, I'll grant. Even if the Legends fandom is small in the grand scheme of the gaming market, the IP still had plenty of room to grow, if Capcom made a quality gaming experience. To have the rug yanked out from under us like this, especially after making a big song and dance about getting the community of dedicated fans involved in this project? It's nothing short of insulting. Not just to the people who contributed and poured sweat and hours into the process, but to the common fan who was following along, waiting patiently to see this community tree bear fruit. I appreciate the past work Capcom has done, and their mark on my history as a video gamer. I've been a Mega Man fan for a long time, I've loved Viewtiful Joe, Dead Rising and Street Fighter II, and other titles they've had to offer. But this is a real slap in the face. They may never had officially confirmed its release. But the level of material and publicity that Legends 3 got, on top of all of the anticipation built up over 10 years? And the fact that they did have a demo slated to come out for purchase? As a consumer? I'm extremely disappointed. As a fan? I feel like I've been spat on. I will be strongly reconsidering any further purchases from Capcom from this day forward. Edit: And now this.
  20. So, after a very prolonged absence from Team Fortress 2... and a long absence from the OCR community in general... ...I'm probably going to come back and play TF2 with you guys again. I honestly really missed it, and a big reason I left was because my old computer sucked and would chug a lot when I tried to play. But now. I have a powerful new computer that can handle it and I really want to get back into this if I can. Hope you guys don't mind an old target drone wandering around in your server every now and then. XD
  21. I've never actually tried a Junglekaiser run. How would that work in terms of Masteries, item build, and the like? I'm just used to laning and pushing with Morde, either solo or with a partner.
  22. Yeah, Sona's extremely passive in the late game but if you focused on Hymn of Valor early on she's a semi-effective harrasser early on, especially if you one-two HoV with Power Chord. It's less effective later on, and by that point you're using your Power Chord to Slow or weaken enemies instead. But Janna's shield is just... oh jeez. So damn good. And goddamn those Teemo mushrooms. ....But I do enjoy stepping on them as Mordekaiser with a shield up so I can just kinda laugh that they didn't do anything to me. XD
  23. It never hurts to have a good roster of support characters under your belt. I mostly stick to Sona myself, but I've played and done okay with Soraka and Janna. Janna's goddamn amazing, though. Just period. Crazy good. And Brand's cool, but I just can't really get into how he plays myself, sadly.
