  1. Not to sound like a buzz kill, I highly doubt Sonic could convert into an RPG format at all. It would just further kill any sense of speed you have while playing it, unless they find some way to revolutionize the genre, and let's face it... with Sonic Team and SEGA in the states they've been, it isn't going to happen.
  2. Oh, man. I remember that game! That was one of my favorites as a kid! I loved the bonus levels when you were in the two-liter bottles of 7-Up. Those were awesome!
  3. And then like two minutes later, she's practicing like she'd been doing it for years. Ah, classic. I just hope they don't change the tone of the game. A lot of those really funny lines were what helped it stay away from being an angst-fest. If the new localization does that for the game, someone at SquareEnix is going to be injured.
  4. Yeah, I wouldn't do that. I played anthologies and the load times, at least as far as I was concerned, killed all the fun of the game for me. While a three to five second load time may not sound that bad, believe me, when you get it for *every single battle* the time and monotony really starts to pile up. I'd say go with the GBA versions, even if they cost more. Plus, they're portable and both feature a Dash button.
  5. Got beaten to the punch on those stories too. I suppose why people got so skittish were because they were placed near bridges without informing local law enforcement. I think the city has good right to be upset about it, though I just hope they don't take all of this out of hand. Admittedly, it's a pretty unique way of advertising the show, but I think it was far too dangerous given the climate of the American political atmosphere. With a the paranoid mindset many people are in, advertising like this which probably would've been enjoyed more back in the 80s and 90s just... doesn't really work anymore. Well, being a big ATHF fan myself, I'm only hoping the backlash from this isn't too great. I suspect Turner's going to be settling a lot of cases in the future, though...
  6. I agree with several of the posters. This was the best track to come out of the project. Period. It faithfully kept the spirit of Hydrocity while doing its own thing. At 2:42 was where I knew I liked this song, and just after the 3:00 mark, it was cemented. I really love the vibe of the song. I can't express that enough. I would highly recommend this track.
  7. I REMEMBER that game. I played it a bunch too. Crazy ass angry paleontologists with rockets! I loved playing as Grant. You were a walking arsenal, even if like half of your weapons didn't do squat.
  8. I wouldn't call the MegaMan Legends series crap, but I wouldn't call them universally popular. Personally, I loved Legends to death. So another for both Legends 1 and 2.
  9. Yeah, that's what I felt about the series too. Zero 3 eliminated the annoying function of leveling up your weapons, and the chip system just felt more intuitive for upgrades than the Form System from Zero 2 or the Junk System from Zero 4. I felt Zero 3 was the most streamlined of the games, the least irritating, and overall presented the greatest performance. In my opinion, I felt Zero 4 was a major step backwards for the series after Zero 3. And personally, to make my point about Blizzard earlier, I personally felt that WarCraft III was the best entry into that particular series. It added a StarCraft-like balance between the races that I very much enjoyed over the virtual mirror images of Orcs and Humans from WarCraft II. As for Diablo, part of me likes elements from the original more than the sequel, but I'd largely consider Diablo II to be the better game in most respects. My greatest irritation with Diablo II was how hard it was to play on higher difficulties on Single Player and that you couldn't retrain your skills if you hit a wall. If you could refund your Skill Points for a fee, I think it would've done a lot for the game. It definitely would've made the late game more accessible.
  10. Someone mentioned the X-Wing series, and I would have to agree. X-Wing was a phenomenal game for its time, and amazingly, TIE Fighter succeeded it in every way. As far as I'm concerned, TIE Fighter is still the definitive space-combat flight simulator. X-Wing Vs. TIE Fighter was actually a bit of a step backwards. Multiplayer and Melee fights were a great deal of fun, but the lack of a story mode without Balance of Power (Which I sadly never found) really, really hurt the game. X-Wing Alliance fixed a lot of that nonsense though, thankfully. Lots of ships to fly, a really good story mode with challenging and fun missions, and a likeable cast of characters. One of the games greatest flaws was its lack of a real ending. TIE Fighter had a real ending, and I doubt it could've been more fufilling. That being said, I was impressed with the step forward Civ4 was over Civ3. They took out everything that annoyed me and made the game even more like digital crack. ...And don't get me started on Blizzard. I'll never shut up.
  11. Yes! How many freakin' people have to say this before it becomes understood?! The Horde is no more or less evil than the Alliance. Both sides have "evil" classes like Warlocks, both sides have their "good" classes like Druid or Priest. Largely, the sides are neutral. You have scum on both sides. Do any of the people calling the Horde evil remember Lord Garithos from the Frozen Throne? Honestly, the whole mentality of "evil Horde" is one of my biggest pet peeves when it comes to WoW.
  12. I'd have a bunch of bosses to list, but the first that most actively pops into my head like... right away? Mizar. From Jet Force Gemini. That sunbitch is HARD if you didn't go weapon crate hunting for Juno before hand. Even with all the Tri-Rockets you can muster, Mizar's still really a challenging fight. He can just last for so long and do so much damage to you with that Lightning Claw attack. Good thing you get a save point IMMEDIATELY before him, because the Asteroid level's a bitch too. Then there are basically any of the end bosses from the R-Type Series. R-Type is freakin' hard... but addictive.
  13. Druids can be excellent healers provided they know what they're doing. I've teamed with some respectable Resto-Druids in the past and it's been pretty successful. Though I must admit, I'd much rather have a Shaman, Paladin, or a Priest watching my back than a Druid in most situations. Considering I'm a Warrior and often play the tank role, I have to put blind faith in my healer to keep me alive. I tend to feel more comfortable with a Priest behind me, but that's not to say Druids aren't capable classes. It's all in the person who plays them, just like any other class in the game.
  14. Male trolls look stupid really, Blizzard made them slouch over way too much. Also their noses are too long and they are really thin. But, if you want a decent looking Horde character, play a female one. Hey, I like my male Troll, thanks. The slouching is what makes him awesome.
  15. I fully endorse this statement. This mix was awesome, and I think the OC Remix community could really do this game justice.
  16. An interesting piece, certainly. I actually liked the feel it gave, and the guitar done the way it was turned out pretty cool. Though I have to say, intentional or not, the aforementioned Terminator vibe is very nice. Lends a sort of toughness to the track. Overall, I liked this remix. Well done. EDIT: I just thought of something is the title "Chronodyne" in refrence to "dataDyne" from Perfect Dark? After listening to the song again, I thought I picked up a little bit of that too.
  17. Haha. Yeah. I love how they're direct references to the levels, though. Sandopolis, Lava Reef, hidden palace, Ice cap(!!) It's great. I could only catch the rather obvious Lava Reef references...What are the other zone references? Well, those four zones were referenced it seems, though I think Angel Island and Carnival Night were referenced very vaguely in the lyrics. It's probably just word choice and not actual references for these two, but those were the other ones I could figure. *Shrugs* Again, I still love this remix; good cheese and all.
  18. I must admit, I was really impressed after listening to this song. I was a little skeptical a duet could be pulled off on the Lava Reef Zone theme, but you guys proved me wrong. This was creative, well delivered, and all around impressive, with only small issues that have already been addressed by the previous reviewers. This one? Earned a permanent spot on my OCR playlist. In short, great work. The five of you should pull together more often, I think.
  19. It saddens me to see all the people in the game that always say a warrior sucks no matter what unless they're using 2h. I'm guessing they've never actually played a warrior beyond doing what everyone said was the "uber" build or whatever, or they've just never seen a good warrior doing anything else. I prefer dual-wield, and trying to use a 2h is rather boring, just attack...wait...attack...oh I have enough rage for an ability now! Where as dual-wield is more like attackattackabilityabilityattackcritcritattackexecute. Two words: Mortal Strike. Most powerful melee ability in the entire game, hands down. Massive, instant damage with a ridiculous debuff that screws up anyone from healers to flag carriers. I dream of the day my Warrior will be high enough level to throw down the Mortal Strikes on anyone who gets in his way. Right now though, I've gotta fight my way through Hillsbrad, which is the equivilant of the hazing grounds in WoW. That's more than enough to worry about with all the gankers hanging around around there...
  20. Hopefully the next patch will give Paladins some much needed DPS for the sake of balance. Though, don't underestimate Paladin damage dealing potential... I believe it was Seal of Judgement that if used properly and with a bit of luck can really cause Pallys to bring down even some tough guys. I might be wrong on the specific seal, considering I don't play Alliance most of the time. But yes, as Zircon said, Priests speced in Shadow Magic are especially dangerous... they are infamous face melters in PvP combat. And they're always in high demand for groups, so playing a Priest is never a bad thing to do.
  21. Azgalor/Dajoobe/Troll/Warrior/Lev. 25 A shout out to all the Horde players! Blood and thunder!
  22. Marble Garden's theme sounds so much better on a sax than it does in the game with whatever annoying instrument they used. I don't think this one is as good as Aquatic Pressure, but it's truly an effective remix, and the sax really gives it a human feel. The recording for the sax is a tad too fuzzy. A little fuzz is okay and adds to the humanity of the piece, but it's a little too noticible. The quality of the sax itself, though, is quite good, and I applaud Mephisto for such good execution. The mix keeps close to the source material, effectively jazzes it up, and adds a great human element to it with Mephisto's sax. Red Tailed Fox's synths do a very good job backing it up and produces a solid ReMix that's definitely worth a look.
  23. You can't. In New Game+, you can touch a shining sparkle in one of Luca´s telepods, and you will then stand in front of Lavos, alone or with the girl depending if you walk in there before or after the girl has been teleported to the past. New Game + is not a fresh game. I am aware of this. I have used the new game + to continue with old gear, lvl, etc. before. The encounter I described was not done on a new game+ file. The warp to Lavos from the Millenial Fair does not exist in a normal new game. This is entirely possible since it's been ages since I played, though i could have sworn I did it w/o newgame+ . I'll have to track down a ROM and doublecheck. If my memory is indeed playing tricks on me, then thanks for the correction. He's right. Lavos can only be fought this way in New Game + mode. HOWEVER, you can create a "Fresh" file, save that to an empty slot as soon as you leave Crono's house, and then reset the game, and select New Game + on THAT data, giving you access to Lavos as base Crono.
  24. I could not wait for someone to finally do a remix that did Hyrdocity Zone Act 2 justice here on OC Remix. Finally... someone who takes it and does it right. You sir? You are my hero. Wonderfully catchy, fresh, and I love the fact that it changes and adapts over time. My two gripes are that it takes a bit too long to get to the main theme,(though once it gets there, it's spectacular), and the ending is a tad abrupt. All in all, though... very respectable work, and from the sounds of it, all the work you put into this paid off.
