  1. Me and Alexis have acquired a room for the festivities, and we have space for two other people.
  2. I've gotten this a few times as well. I'm also using Google Chrome. I'm sure zircon knows how to deal with this, but I'll just add that I had this happen to my site. The .htaccess file had a bunch of redirects to malware sites added to it. Deleting the file causes the server to make a new one that is clean.
  3. People who play Marvel vs Capcom 3 give me a lot of shit for playing on Simple Mode in stead of Normal. There's a reason they added Simple Mode guys. It's so people who don't want to spend hours learning combos, dragon punches, and cancel windows can still enjoy the game. The core fundamentals of the game still apply, but without having to re-learn every single character moveset. My roommate constantly makes fun of me because I have a hard time doing a snapback, BUT I BEAT HIS ASS EVERY TIME. Obviously his "skill" with the controller buttons doesn't make up for the fact that he fails to account for position, timing, or defense. That being said, Normal Mode is actually a lot more flexible than Simple, since you have many more moves at your disposal which gives a greater versatility with the characters. Simple Mode basically puts Smash Brothers-type controls into MvC-style gameplay.
  4. I don't have Forza 4, but here's some designs from Forza 3 that I did: HAH! That Pony symbol would be awesome on the doors!
  5. I would die a happy man if a new Starfox looked like it did in the original 1993 instruction manual. The Arwings looked fantastic and the characters were just so cool. Every Starfox has always looked kind of fake, but the original was so...real (because they actually made models of the ships and puppets of the characters).
  6. This. And finishing Ninja Gaiden (Xbox). By the end, that game is akin to being kicked in the nuts while trying to do brain surgery in record time.
  7. I love ChAIR Entertainment's games. Has anyone here played through the entirety of Shadow Complex (XBLA) and Infinity Blade (iOS)? I recently finished Infinity Blade and started the New Game +. So for anyone who has finished both, I ask you this: Do you think that Infinity Blade and Shadow Complex are connected somehow? Seeing as how you end up going against a mech that looks strikingly similar to the ones in Shadow Complex and the God Kings' armor looks an awful lot like the armor in Shadow Complex. Both IB and SC are made by ChAIR and it wouldn't surprise me that they are trying to expand the Empire universe beyond just Shadow Complex. Anyone?
  8. I gots me room and badge. The wait is going to kill me!
  9. I missed MAGFest 9, so I have to come to MAGFest X. Pre-reg'd
  10. From what I've read so far, the Wii U controller is not capable of running anything on it's own, so a portable VC is pretty much out of the question. You'd have to be within the vicinity of the Wii U console to use the controller.
  11. You sir are a life saver. WIPEOUT HD, HERE I COME. But seriously, the PSN Store UI is awful.
  12. So I picked m two free games (Dead Nation and Wipeout HD) and thanks to Sony's fucking horrible UI for the PlayStation Store, I did not get Wipeout HD. FUCK YOU SONY. I could forgive your terrible hardware design, because ugly plastic doesn't make games play worse. I could forgive the awful XMB, because how much time will I really spend in the menu anyway? I could forgive the constant installations, updates, data syncs, because if the games run good, then I can wait. I could forgive the terrible setup of the PSN Store, because it's your first time. Nintendo didn't get it right either. I could forgive the constant hang-ups and disconnections from PSN. Too many different technologies working in tandem is difficult. I could forgive the practically ancient controller design, because nostalgic nerds and fanboys don't want to admit that the PS controller is awful. I could forgive the confusing game saves and data organization. I really shouldn't be messing with that stuff anyway. I could forgive the literally 10-inch charging cable that comes with the wireless controller. At least it comes with one instead of charging you $30 for one. *ahemXboxahem* I could forgive the $150 for the Move. At least Sports Champions is fun. I could forgive the PSN outage. It is not your fault that a bunch of asshats decided it would be funny to breach your system and steal tons of innocent people's data. I HAVE FORGIVEN YOU A LOT SONY. I HAVE DONE EVERYTHING IN MY POWER TO NOT HATE YOU. BUT THIS IS THE LAST STRAW. /rant
  13. Beyond The Bounds is a great song! I think ZOE 2 didn't use the grab/throw mechanic enough, and the times it was used were really obvious and felt forced most of the time. I do think the usefulness of the other abilities was pretty good. ZOE 1 had all these sub-weapons that didn't really have a practical use. ZOE 2 made sure there were specific reasons you need all the sub-weapons.
  14. Not true. Mac OS X is usually in the same price range. Snow Leopard was only $30 because they didn't add any new features, just improved the ones that were introduced in Leopard (hence why it still has "leopard" in the name). Lion will be the same price point as other OS's. I'm actually excited for Lion. The direction Apple is moving (and why companies like Microsoft are following) is almost begging for an iPad that can run full-featured Mac OS X instead of iOS.
  15. OMFGWUTHOLYSH--*head explodes* Seriously this is awesome. Now we just need ZOE 3...
  16. I have the Sennheiser HD-280's and I love them for mixing. The low end is a bit weak so anything with low bass or sub is going to be hard to pinpoint, but overall they are excellently balanced. I do a lot of mixing with them.
  17. Yeah the ability to watch the playhead's position on both the mixer and the piano roll in Logic, while also monitoring all of the plug-ins on another screen helps a ton. It's not necessary, it just prevents me from swapping Spaces and possibly missing something in the process. Also, using a huge 1920 x 1080 screen for my plug-ins is awesome. Imagine "World's Largest Effects Rack"
  18. I like heavy metal and oontiss because I am hyperactive and I love teh fast beatz. I like classical and film scores because Star Wars was a cool movie. I like classic rock because I grew up around it and it makes me all nostalgic and stuff. This list could go on for every genre (except country ). Music doesn't define you, but you certainly have certain predispositions because of your personality and experiences.
  19. That is a valid point...except that a majority of games on XBLA are 1200 points, and Microsoft only lets you buy 800, 1600, or 4000 point cards. Plus all games and DLC are bought with points...except Games on Demand (Xbox and 360 titles) which can only be purchased with $USD. So the points thing is actually kinda crappy.
  20. I think most of the disappointment with Nintendo is because some of their franchises have suffered because of their decisions with their game hardware. Like my example of an HD Starfox. None of Nintendo's consoles have the capability to run a big budget, high definition entry of Starfox and since it is a Nintendo franchise, it can only appear on Nintendo hardware. This is what angers me. I love Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Starfox, F-Zero, Donkey Kong, etc. but other than Mario Galaxy, Nintendo has made practically no effort to improve or even produce any of these games!
  21. 1. I've been around video games since I was born (my dad had an Atari 2600 that I still own) and of course as soon as I was old enough to understand what they were and how to play them, I became instantly fascinated with them. Listening to video game music comes from the fact that I love video games and it was just a natural progression to appreciate the music of those games as well. Mixing comes from the fact that I found myself to be at least somewhat musically inclined and as soon as I found tools to make music, I began imitating all of my favorite music, which included many video game tunes. 2. For me, video game music as it is now is much like movie music, there's no definitive line between vgm and other forms of music except the fact that vgm is made specifically for use in a video game. While certain things are unique to video game music (such as dynamic soundtracks, which actually change the music to match your actions in the game), vgm is usually identified by the game it's from, much in the way popular music is identified by the artist who makes it. While vgm composers are recognized by the community, more often people identify a vgm song by the game it's from, not the composer/performer. You rarely hear someone say "I'm listening to a song by Kou Otani." they say, "I'm listening to a song from Shadow of the Colossus". 3. I don't think it's any different at all. We're all here for the love of the music and without people to make it and listen to it, the scene will die out. But I don't see that happening.
  22. Almost my entire musical preference is based on video games. I like classical and movie scores because I played the hell out of Empire Strikes Back on Atari and then watched the movie and fell in love with the music. I like rock and metal because Final Fantasy Mystic Quest and Mega Man X are amazing soundtracks. I like trance and other electronic music because it sounds like video games. I like trip-hop and downtempo music because EarthBound is incredible in every way. This could go on for every music genre (except country, blech).
  23. Nintendo has lost my good graces since the introduction of the Gamecube. They have really shifted their focus (obviously for the better) from almost everything I look for in a game. The only games I own on the Wii are Excite Truck and Smash Bros Brawl. I look at my game collection from this generation and the clear winner for me is Xbox 360. Here's to hoping Nintendo brings back the big developers and franchises. *cough*HDStarfoxSequel*cough*
  24. Regardless of what this means for Sony on the large, it has definitely damaged my already hesitant use of the PS3. The only truly enjoyable experiences that I've had with the PS3 are the Move and Blu-Ray discs. Everything else (exclusive games, PSN connectivity, controller design, firmware, etc.) has been a major disappointment. This almost guarantees I will resist buying games for my PS3. Other than a RRoD (which was repaired and mailed back in less than two weeks) Xbox 360 and XBL have been fabulous for me. I cannot say the same for the PS3 or PSN at all.
  25. Just finished the game, and holy crap that ending was fantastic. The battle was kind of weak, definitely not as challenging as Portal 1's battle, but the ending was totally worth it.
