Hello! ) Here is my submission: ReMixer's name: =RYO= My real name: Alexey My email: ryoyuyalex@gmail.com Game: Golden Axe 3 (SEGA Genesis) Orig. composers: Naofumi Hataya, Tatsuyuki Maeda Arrangement name: Dead Mountain stage My remix's name: Deadly cliff, wind dancing Comment: Well, that was my favorite track of Golden axe 3, so I put a part of my soul in this track. To say true, I was always inspired by great compositions of that ages of consoles. Maybe because of it my little improvisation in the middle of this song reminds some rythm of Streets of Rage series sound.) This is my first submission, I hope you'll like it Sincerely. =RYO= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y89X6291cjQ&feature=BFa&list=PLE6DBF6B5849593DB&index=27

  4. Remixer 1 name: Rexy (real name: Bev Wooff) OCRemix user ID: 7528 Remixer 2 name: Brandon Strader OCRemix user ID: 3123 (what, he's *really* been here longer than me?!) Remix info:- Remix title: "Hogging Molly" Game covered: Crash Bandicoot Individual songs covered: Hog Wild ( )-- Rexy says: "Working with Brandon on 'Hogtied' for OCRemix's recent Sonic 1 project was a lot of fun, so a second encounter could be proven inevitable, hence the construction being really similar. So here we go, tackling the 'Hog Wild' stage theme in Crash 1 (and like my other Crash submission there's some light homages to the main theme and Cortex's theme hidden in there as well). Its roots were as a Celtic Punk arrangement, written in the style of Flogging Molly (hence the title), though when Brandon chipped in later with his contributions it soon got a more southern flair attached to it. I won't be surprised if the user would actually smell the raw bacon halfway through!" Brandon says: "Speaking of raw bacon, Rexy sure knows how to write parts that are a bit challenging. That lead part with all the chromatic notes was tricky to lay down because of my stupid fingers that want to land at logical places. I practiced it until I could record it without fault and the challenge was very refreshing for me. Will I do something like that again? Nope. Well, only if Rexy writes it on a future collab.. ;P Recording these songs is part of my huge evil plan to get closer to Rexy. :D"
  5. Hey there! Some time ago I did a remix of a Final Fantasy X track I really love. Finally I decided to send it to ocremix because I'm really interested in the feedback of other people. So first of all the link to download my remix: and now the additional stuff: Contact Information: - My ReMixer name: The Griever - My website(s): http://soundcloud.com/indulin http://www.facebook.com/pages/Indulin/172076399472392 http://www.swishco.co.uk/artist.php?id=102 http://www.myspace.com/indulin (pretty obsolete now) - My userid on your forums: 45573 Submission Information: - Name of game(s) arranged: Final Fantasy X - Name of arrangement: Battle In The Far North - Name of individual song(s) arranged: People Of The Far North / People of the North Pole The game's already on your site so I think I don't have to link to the soundtrack or mention the composer(s)! I chose this track because it's really one of my all time favourites, the lovely melodies get me every time I listen to it. I'm a big fan of Final Fantasy and it's music. My idea was to turn this rather calm tune into a kind of battle theme, in fact my remix is telling a whole story! It's about two men, formerly been best friends, fighting on the snowy top of a mountain. It's stormy and you can hear the scream of an eagle watching the showdown. They talk to each other about the past, then they pull out their swords and with the beating of the drum at about 1:10 the battle begins! Both of them are very good swordsmen. At 2:06 they interrupt the exhausting fight for a while and talk again. The melody changes, the clock begins ticking and the rivals realise that only one of them will survive. They're tired now, but force themselves to fight further, at about 3:02 the battle continues! Then, suddenly, with an unexpected move, one of them manages to kill the other at about 3:58. The melody starting at about 4:16 expresses the "winner's" sadness. His best friend from back in the days is now gone forever... Hope you enjoy my remix and I'm curious what your decision will be like! Best regards Victor

I loved this game as a kid and I love the music in the game, especially this tune, which is both intense and haunting. So I thought I would give it some love for OCremix.
  7. Remix Name: Thornbush Thump Remixer: MtM Game: Donkey Kong Country 2 Song: Bramble Blast (Stickerbrush Symphony) Might as well start out with a song pretty much everyone has done, right? Anyways, my roommate has recently been overcome with what can only be described as a full-on addiction to the Super Smash Bros. Brawl version of Bramble Blast. He had been blasting it (pun mostly intended) for a couple days straight, and needless to say it got stuck in my head pretty hard... My insomnia was acting up as well, and the combination of Bramble Blast stuck in my head and lying in bed trying to get my mind to slow down enough to let me sleep gave birth to the inspiration for this remix. I looked up the original on Youtube, since I've never actually played Donkey Kong Country 2 (I know, I know, I'm a terrible person for it) and drew from both the original DKC2 track as well as the SSBB version. This is the result of that perfect storm of mental... uncontrollableness. Is that a word? It should be.
  8. ReMixer name: DarkSim Forum ID: http://ocremix.org/forums/member.php?u=33879 Game ReMixed: Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Song remixed: "town_04" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePbPB-FqiSk Original Composer: Jeremy Soule Hello again OCR! This time I've tried to expand my electronica skills into the realms of trance, with what I hope is an imaginative source interpretation. The name of the track is taken from Patrick Stewart's opening monologue as Emperor Uriel Septim, "...these are the final hours of my life." I've always been a huge fan of Jeremy Soule's music. I spent well over 200 hours on Oblivion when it came out, just wandering around off the beaten track doing side-quests and soaking up the atmosphere, heavily enhanced by Soule's original score. It blew my mind when I realised he had also worked on Total Annihilation, a game I grew up with, and I wanted to show my appreciation for both his music and the phenomenal game that is Oblivion by remixing something from it. I chose this particular town theme because I feel it has the most recognisable melody from all the themes, and I often found myself humming it after playing the game, which I find is a great indicator of a remixable tune. I've tried to keep the airy, expansive feel of Oblivion, whilst transforming the orchestral score into a more upbeat affair. Trance would be the genre of choice for this kind of feeling, so I've given it a go. It still has some nasty bass in there though, which I really enjoyed writing! With Skyrim coming out later this year, I also thought it would be a nice way to bid farewell to the game, and get ready for the next Elder Scrolls adventure. Judging info: Source usage is all over this track - I used the string plucks to create a soft synth arp that crops up now and then, the main melody is used right from the start (at least the first part of it), and some of the string builds are used in the breakdowns, for both pads and progressions. I don't think there's a part of the source I didn't use at some point, and it should be 80-90% source as a result, if not higher. Thanks, DarkSim
  9. Hey, my name is Lanis Watkins. I'd like to submit this song, "Dungeoneering". It's a re-make of the dungeon song from the old Sega Genesis game Sword of Vermilion. I'm awful at putting together a decent paragraph, so here's the list of information it says to send in. ReMixer Name: Senescence_Band (I assume this is referring to my forum username? If not, I'd like it to just be Senescence.) Real Name: Lanis Watkins Your Website: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Senescence/231811683502692 Name of Game Arranged: Sword of Vermilion Name of Arrangement: "Dungeoneering" Name of Individual Song Arranged: Dungeon Comments: This game was a favorite of mine growing up. I recently picked it up again out of boredom. Almost immediately, I was blown away by the music. A few days later, I could not get this one song out of my head. All day at work, I was tapping my foot and humming that bass line. I'm an audio engineer, so I've got a pretty nice little project studio, so I called up my friend Derek Steele and told him we were going to cover it. As soon as he heard it, he was completely on board. I did most of the programming (drums/bass/keys/fx) and he laid down the guitars and helped here and there with the drums. A few days later and I had it mixed how I wanted, and here we are! We plan to do the entire soundtrack! We came up with the name Senescence. As it means "the process of aging or becoming old", we thought it suited our subject material. Hope you guys like it!

Mega Man III - Stage Select 2. Mega Man 8 - Stage Select 3. Turok 2: Seeds of Evil - Port of Adia Additional information about game including composer, system, etc. (if it has not yet been added to the site): Mega Man III was on the Nintendo Entertainment System. Mega Man 8 was on the PlayStation (PS One). Turok 2: Seeds of Evil was on the Nintendo 64. To my knowlege the original composers for these games were: Mega Man III: Yasuaki Fujita Mega Man 8: Shusaku Uchiyama Turok 2: Seeds of Evil: I do not know who was the original composer for this game. Link to the original soundtrack (if it is not one of the sound archives already available on the site): I do not know any links to the original soundtracks for these games except maybe YouTube. Your own comments about the mix, for example the inspiration behind it, how it was made, etc. My Inspiration behind my remix was because I love Mega Man games and I myself searched for some remixes, but cou;dn't really find remixes out there on the internet that I kept listening other than a few times with the exception of already on the website OCremix.org placed remixes. So I decided to create my own remix, and because of the remix-a-bility of some videogame music theme songs I decided to put Mega Man III, Mega Man 8 and Turok 2: Seeds of Evil into one remix, with Mega Man III as the 'chorus' because it is more of an Instrumental Remix. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QNkRMbD6nDY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PS2v9_ey-sA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cBdvzDeKnsg
  11. Your ReMixer name: blackguitar Name of game(s) Final Fantasy Name of arrangement: Gurgling Desert Pond Name of individual song(s) arranged: Gurgu Volcano Your own comments about the mix, for example the inspiration behind it, how it was made, etc.: This is my second contribution to the FF1 Project directed by Brandon. An easy listening country-style arrangement that reminds me of maybe a dry desert or a hot volcano. It has been made in the nick of time, when this track did not seem to be claimed anymore. Hope you like it.
  12. The intro seemed to run too long, with just a solid beat and SFX, and then piecing together the theme one bit at a time. Definitely a viable way to build a club track, but it makes hearing the source really hard. Once the song gets going, it's apparent the source is there, but it's pretty similar to the original. There is a different beat, and the synths are all different, but arrangement wise it is a little too close for me to pass. No
  13. Though the energy level stays pretty consistent, the arrangement ideas and performances were very solid. I think that the subtleties of the song make it harder to evaluate, and in a lot of ways it feels repetitive, but there is enough nuance in the performance and background details for me to see that this has some very strong potential. My concern is that there isn't much overt expansion, and as-is, feels very much a classy cover. I'd love to hear an original bridge section and a solo of some sort to really make it feel more like a complete song. My call is super close, but I think a little more work will put this over. No, please resubmit
  14. There are a few issues for me, like those drums, but they are authentic. Overall I really liked the arrangement. Production seems fine enough. The remix name is horrible. Yes
  15. Pretty nice take on the source, it's very apparent throughout, but has a lot of good embellishments. The metal treatment is pretty solid, and though the levels on the mixing aren't exactly where i think they should be, everything is clear and sounds very nice. The overall soundscape gels together very well, and overall the transformation was pretty cool. The source itself is pretty varied, with a lot of parts, and this incorporates those plus a few new ones to good effect. The laughs and whispers added to the mood, and overall I think this is pretty badass. Yes
  16. A little stiffly sequenced in some parts (but pretty much all orchestral arrangements besides VHD and Busta are guilty of this), but I felt the arrangement ideas overall. It generally felt more like a relay rather than a melding, as the themes switched back and forth. The arrangement felt more interesting when it was in the more contemplative Splash Woman mode, but a lot of the ssections felt copy/pasted to me, and there isn't a lot of development once the themes are presented. There are some nice points to this, but the arrangement needs more. No, please resubmit
  17. The judging queue is now about 3 *weeks* (not months) behind. We are at June 2 in the inbox, and while the panel needs to catch up a little, we are making pretty significant progress overall. Believe me, we aren't satisfied with the current pace of the panel either, and are taking steps to improve it.
  18. I definitely agree that at times the soundscape feels a little sparse and bass heavy, and I think the reverb treatment when DA was singling cleanly could have been better integrated, as they felt a little pasted on. Not completely, but it was a bit jarring. Overall, though, the crazy cool arrangement elevates this over the production nitpicks. It gets a little bit self-indulgent in a few sections, but I was groovin' Yes
  19. Much improved overall! There is still a single sour sounding note at 2:10 in the strings, but otherwise the chords felt really nice. I really enjoyed the arrangement the first time through, and this is nothing but better. Yes
  20. Very nice bass playing right off the bat. There are some nice small guitar runs to slightly personalize this, but overall it feels like a very well performed cover, as it doesn't seem very expanded. I like it a lot, and it's a strong foundation for a good remix, but it needs to be expanded on a bit. I also think the drums need a little bit of EQ work to feel more integrated in the soundscape. A little more high end in the snare is a good starting point. No, please resubmit
  21. This is pretty good, if a little loud. There are some nice breakdown sections, but generally it follows the source very very closely. The sounds are good and mesh together pretty well, though some seem a little far forward. Overall I like it a good deal, but generally feel it's a little too similar to the original for me to be comfortable passing. Perhaps the other judges will feel differently, and I wish you luck. No
  22. In it to win it! Good luck to everyone who enters, but hopefully better luck to me!
