Cyber Core Maze reminds me of Touhou music. This is reflected with the direction of my entry. Ironically, I discovered after making my entry that this actually IS touhou music.

Although, there are a few exceptions to the rule darkesword pointed out regarding sharps and flats: some keys (e.g. g harmonic minor; G A Bb C D Eb F# G) will use sharps and flats in practice, but not in the key signature (g harmonic minor will still have the same key signature as g natural minor and Bb Major). 

I have been trying to find this page again for months. You are a gentleman and a scholar.

Usually its easiest to focus on the bass. When I hum the beginning into a tuner I get a D. It could change after the intro though. Only way to really know is figure out all the notes though and look at the scales to see if all the transcribed notes fit for the section you are looking at.

Do the notes fit on any of these scales (Since you think it is F)?
PS: To all the veteran musicians. Is this good advice / terrible advice? Do I know what I'm doing? I don't want to steer people wrong but if my system is wrong or can be improved I'd love to be enlightened.

I liked the clicky drums, personally.

I missed the listening party but this gem in the log got me:
<+Gario> Ground Scaravich? Isn't he the beetle that carries poo around? If the stupidly weird harmonies in the song hadn't made me regret my choice enough!
 
EDIT: Also, regarding the criticisms I read in the log, I rushed a lot of the writing so my guitar lines are very simple haha. The guitar leads are MIDI recorded so I guess that's why they don't sound that sequenced. I may re-visit this with more time later to add more variations to the guitar and stuff.

I was using it to try and smooth the transients out before the limiter because if you just throw everything in the limiter you end up getting an incredible amount of disgusting distortion trying to reach the same level of loudness. I should check to see how much GR its actually doing though. I dunno this has been a problem that has plagued me for literally 3 years now and doing things the "proper way" and trying to be minimalistic on the master hasn't really given me the right sound, so right now I'm trying to use things perhaps too liberally trying to see if I can find that happy medium.
I really appreciate your feedback Timaeus, I'll look into my limiting settings more closely.

For anyone that's curious, we did actually get down the 5th selection for both pu_freak and DusK, who both chose Storm Eagle. In order to resolve this, I did a runoff for those two using a die, and then for the loser, I started going back UP his list (i.e. up to the 4th selection), giving that priority in any conflict (i.e. automatic win), and then continued to resolve any additional conflicts. Fortunately we didn't have to travel too far back up the selections.

Quick, create two alter egos and enter the competition. Your can create 10 songs and collaborate with yourself! However if I see two new forum users, RopeLadder and ZipLine, I'm going to be on to you...

DjjD told me over chat that he'd be willing to jump in if we can get another person. Hit up Ben Briggs on Twitter asking if he's down to participate too, he seemed interested when we hung out at CEO2015.

Don't worry, Shadix. I'm on that team too, so it all balances out.
