Remove those laughing sounds......

Hmm....I never knew about that arrange album, sounds VERY interesting. I would be happy if anyone could point me to a place where I can get that album.

Today I just came across my NSF of Final Fantasy 3, I had forgotten how wonderful that soundtrack was. I went to OCremix to look for some mixes. I couldn't believe what met my eyes. Two remixes!! Only two remixes of that beautiful soundtrack!! I really think we need a lot more from that soundtrack, I may do some works myself too.

Post your favorite drum loops!
Jens Wulvik replied to XeLa89's topic in Music Composition & Production
I suggest that we post our homemade, programmed drumloops. That could be interesting, I think. -
cakewalk compared to other midi sequencers
Jens Wulvik replied to prophetik music's topic in Music Composition & Production
I'm using Cakewalk sonar, and used Cakewalk Pro Audio earlier. Pro Audio doesn't support VSTs but you'll never find any program handier than Cakewalk Pro Audio. So if you're planning to use a MIDI-driver or a hardware modul, then go for Pro Audio. Sonar is one of the big host-applications out there and it's much like Pro Audio but with the new functions needed. It got some bugs like it takes a while to bring up the score editing but it's not that bad. As you are planning to make classical music I assume you want to use score editing, right? Then I'll tell you that Cakewalk have for what I've seen the absolute best score-editing system. When you install Sonar you'll get some DXi's and VSTs with it of course. You will get "Cakewalk TTS" wich is exactly the same as Edirol Hypercanvas and you get a nice set of effects, including very nice reverb, chorus, delay etc. If there's anything you need to know about Cakewalk Sonar or Pro Audio, just ask!! -
Hi, I'm using sonar. I think there is way to use the soundfonts in the program as it is, but I find it easier to use the VST-plugins "SFZ". Grab it here:http://www.rgcaudio.com/sfz.htm

Looking for piano pieces to learn.
Jens Wulvik replied to Jens Wulvik's topic in Music Composition & Production
First of all I want to tell you that pianist is not what I'm trying to be. I'm mainly a composer but as you know it's nice with some piano skills when composing music. And it's also bothering me when someone wants me to play some piano for them the best thing I can do is to improvise some stuff. Moonlight Sonata 1st movement is already on my schedule but I would like something wich is just a little easier. But thank you so far!! -
DKC3, Cave/Factory theme DnB Remix [WIP] !
Jens Wulvik replied to Cyan's topic in Post Your Game ReMixes!
I've never been very fond of Drum'n'Bass but this is quite interesting. It got good variation but it need lots of producing work yet. It's sounds very rough as it is now. Try to make it more smooth, some effects can help you acchieve that. And you may spread the stereo more, that makes it more alive. -
Hi, I posted this thread because I would like some suggestions for some piano pieces. Nice classical piano pieces would be best but modern music is fine too. The only classical piece I've learned so far is a shortened version of 'Für Elise' and it's a bit too simple. Soo...what I want is suggestions of classical piano pieces that's not too hard to play. Thank you!!

Guitar Rig question.
Jens Wulvik replied to k u n g f u c h i c k e n's topic in Music Composition & Production
You may set record source to "microphone" and record the unplugged guitar sound only while using guitar rig as a real-time effect. By doing that you'll be able to record the guitar part as a seperate track while listening to the other music. -
Guitar Rig question.
Jens Wulvik replied to k u n g f u c h i c k e n's topic in Music Composition & Production
I think I can answer yes to both those questions. The sound will still be as normal, but the recording source will be 'every sound your computer make'. How it sounds is what you get recorded!! -

You may set your input source to Stereo Mix and then just record. -
Distortion in places that doesn't make any sense.
Jens Wulvik replied to Henrymop's topic in Music Composition & Production
If you're talking about the recording volume in the windows volume controller, it should be set to about 10-20%!!! Setting it to high may produce distortion. About audio mixdown, have you tried FILE|EXPORT|AUDIO..? -
Hypersonic should have some strings fitting this category, but that would be like buying cookies to get the chocolate pieces.

What's the best way to make orchestrated music?
Jens Wulvik replied to DarthVivi's topic in Music Composition & Production
If I can load samples into RAM, I'm fine. Got 1024mb ram, often load samples into ram with some VSTs. RAM is not the problem, but hardrive space is. -

Is it possible to store the samples on CDs or DVDs instead of occupating space on the harddrive with EWQLSO Silver edition?? Is this possible with garritan pers. orch.?? -

WTF?! You made it sound like 200Gb but it's 200Mb. -
Yes, that's right sorry... It's called tabalas in norwegian and well...

I would say that eurobeat goes right between trance and techno. About figuring out about harmony and chords and stuff, there is no way you can just learn that from other persons. But it's possible to help you, and give you some advice. Here's my best advice for you: Spend some time everyday finding the right chords for different melodies and make some remixes of them. Doing that you'll automatically learn how to find the right chords and you'll start understanding the whole thing.

Hi, I'm looking for some tabalas samples. I've found a few soundfonts but they are not very good. Do anybody here know a good tabalas soundfont or know a place where I can find some good tabalas samples??

VST, DirectX instruments and effects thread
Jens Wulvik replied to DM Lee's topic in Music Composition & Production
I've tried Virtual bassist and it's not very good, go for hypersonic 2 instead. Tons of great instruments!! Excellent for bass, drums, piano, organ, acoustic guitars, clean electric guitars, synths and string ensembles. -
creating my own instrument samples-is it possible?
Jens Wulvik replied to seanv's topic in Music Composition & Production
Yeah, it's very sweet but it doesn't work on many games though. You really should try it on Space Station Silicon Valley!! It got some "high resolution" organs and pianos!! It's a shame that it doesn't work on Diddy Kong Racing...lots of samples there I would like to get.. -
Anyone knows where to find a sample sounding like the dist.guitar in this(http://www.yourfilelink.com/get.php?fid=128878) song from Diddy Kong Racing?? (option theme)
