Castlevania II: Simon's Quest - Bloody Tears ~Metal Remix~

Sure, thats what I was getting at anyway. This has made me want to play guitar more at any rate, so thanks for the debate :3. -

0:14 - 0:17 0:21 - 0:29 I'm bored already because I'm going to be listing more or less everything bar the boiree. Can you honestly say you think hes doing anymore then petrucci did for those 3 seconds? He's playing notes from the correct scale, as fast as he can, maybe with a recurring sequence or pattern. If you honestly think that theres some higher purpose within these notes other then showing off (which is the entire point of these inbetween song bits) then fine, I have nothing further to add. -

I know yngwie has probably used a range of scales, but 90% of his stuff is either harmonic minor or phyrigian with diminished chords. When you listen to a Dream Theater song, you have no idea what key to expect, or what style to expect, because they push their boundaries in ways other then pure speed. BB King isn't really up for comparison here because he doesn't know anything about music theory, he just plays what he hears in his head. I don't slam the other players you mention because I don't find the way they plays obnoxious. I don't see how 0:38 - 0:41 is nonsensical, especially when you consider the video you linked to had absolutely no structure whatsoever. He was just showing off in a solo spot, which is fair enough. I went to see Vai live twice, he does the same sort of thing inbetween songs, its showmanship, its not musicality. Yngwie does it for 5 minutes and you praise it, Petrucci does it for 3 seconds and you call it nonsensical. I can't be the only one spotting the inconsistency? Thats just the way I feel about it. -

That yngwie video may have been fast and clean, but man... Its just a relentless raping of ONE scale, the only one he ever plays, followed by a cover with some random scales inbetween lines. Clean? fair enough, Intereting? No. Random petrucci video: Not as fast, but man do I prefer it. He can play and improvise smoothly in pretty much any key and time signature; he has more or less every guitar technique under his belt so he can use any of them at will and most importantly, he makes great use of every range of the guitar. Those are 3 aspects which yngwie lack and in my opinion makes him uninteresting to watch. Impressive, but uninteresting. -

If you ignore Yngwie, Sweden has produced some awesome grade-A nutter musicians. AeroZ just cannot be boring to listen to, he just can't. Theres ALWAYS something interesting happening. 10 seconds laters you'll be hearing totally different synths and patterns that still kick ass. Some of the sounds are a bit loud considering how raw they are, but they usually get filtered away in some way, so you don't notice it as much. I suppose it could get a bit overly-complicated, but that won't bother me for a good while. -
I'm not sure many people are going to meet this. I can't remember when some people updated. I think we might just have to ignore this due date. I wonder where pocketman is...
-
I'm changing my mind. Now that I'm getting job I'd pay for one .

You didn't mean meet.

Be careful about what you're insinuating. -
Uh no, FL DOES work with Reason the same as Cubase does as long as you have a late enough version.
-
Propellerheads fail for not being up to date.
-
http://www.propellerheads.se/ They have a list of official ReWire programs there. Fl Studio isn't on it. Reaper isn't on there either, but I've used it with Reason, so it could work.

Fagfest lol. I've got a room anyways now.

Well it would be silly to make music that you don't even like . -
Does anyone know of any libraries of vocals that exsist? surely there are some remixer communities who've gathered together a bunch of vocal tracks for remixing purposes.

Radiohead's new album costs whatever you want
Fishy replied to dannthr's topic in General Discussion
You can buy the diskset instead for $80, and i'm beginning to see why they've done this: DISCBOX THIS CONSISTS OF THE NEW ALBUM, IN RAINBOWS, ON CD AND ON 2 X 12 INCH HEAVYWEIGHT VINYL RECORDS. A SECOND, ENHANCED CD CONTAINS MORE NEW SONGS, ALONG WITH DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHS AND ARTWORK. THE DISCBOX ALSO INCLUDES ARTWORK AND LYRIC BOOKLETS. ALL ARE ENCASED IN A HARDBACK BOOK AND SLIPCASE. 2 vinyls, extra tracks and artwork. Not everyone is going to want to buy all that. -
Only 4 person room or sumthin?
-
lol, I think Anso wants to room with me for suspicious reasons anyway.
-
Btw, I'm considering attending quite seriously now. I have nothing to do this year, I won't be short on money, my parents said earlier they don't care if I want to go travelling in my gap year (this is close enough), and I always feel bad about missing out on this shit, so is there room for a little one anywhere?

Everytime someone recognises my influence they earn 5 internets. Glad you liked my angry music. -
lol, a permanent sidebar. Seriously though, sounds like a nice idea. Maybe a little drop down menu of the latest mixes posted or something.
-
This has so much potential. I would suggest maybe using a different set of lyrics that are more appropriate or relevant and expanding on this. You could also approach someone with a good orchestral ability, you could make one badass classical choral collab out of this.

Metal Gear Solid Theme by Tappy Iwase stolen??
Fishy replied to Strike911's topic in General Discussion
Classical composers based a lot of their work on arranging and writing variations to their favourite composers of old. I'm leaning towards it being a homage, or he heard the music a while ago and didn't realise why he had the melody in his head. Steve Vai thought he wrote Bankok from chess and wrote a 9 minute suite on it, Uematsu accidently ripped of The Rock soundtrack, this stuff happens. I love how similar Pushkin and Pliskin sound. I'm surprised this hasn't been noticed so far, unless they don't have MGS in Russia or something. -
I used to be guilty of torrenting, but I hate doing it now. I really enjoy having the whole package in my hand, especially when you get fun extras, like the "making of" DVD i got with Systematic Chaos. Once you know about the real trouble even some succesful artists go through because they're being screwed by any combination of labels and illegal downloads, you would have to be very selfish to still download stuff illegally, for example: Wow, you really think stuff through before you obnoxiously blurt it out.
