  1. 4 days and 21 hours to go. We have two submissions insofar. Just a reminder to those who may have forgotten and/or are busy ...makes me wish I could compete to fill in that 3rd spot q.q
  2. Yeah I kept on meaning to ask you but I got side-tracked every time lol. I'll remind every1 not 2 vote for the bonus track(s) at the voting stage. oh and title is edited @ Argle, do what Bundeslang said if you haven't submitted your track already
  3. good question, I'll need to ask Bundeslang
  4. Devil May Cry 4?? No mentions of that? Try that one on hard mode (or just get the HD remake for DMC3 muahaha)
  5. excellent art :3 I've gotta play those games b4 listening to the remixes :0 btw...i've tried looking around the 'net and couldn't find Vampire Variations Vol. 1 - and the link to it on the front page just leads to the Vol.2 promo
  6. its ok, I was basically just going along with the guidelines and some pep talk for the newer ppl. They can always ask any1 else here how 2 improve their mixin' skills anyhow haha.
  7. I've had that happen with Earthworm Jim 2 methinks.
  8. Alright. Mulled it over and decided that you're prob right. No first place vote, but the +2 points for contestant voters and previous winner votes remain the same.
  9. To be fair, he wasn't really ever alive to begin with. So that shouldn't be too difficult.
  10. I would prob lol if that did happen. But then we'd have 2 throw the round.
  11. Corrected the contestant voting thingy. And yes storing them may be a wise thing 2 do next time lol. Thx for the tips once again Bunda Gotcha
  12. @ DS fixed the code and conduct title. @ Argle Yes you can submit something; it'll just be a bonus track. Nothing wrong with an extra track tho @ Kenta Well, there's no way for me to enforce any1 from starting their remixing before the compo starts. The due date had to be 4 days after PRC's, so that meant that I had to start this compo on Friday. So I say go 4 it.
  13. Damashi!!(BONUS): Horny_S$40suk3_5ever Trism: Drum 'n Battle Argle: ff7 Battle OneUp: https://soundcloud.com/myste/ff7-battle-for-sound-battle GrapplingHook: ff7 battle
  14. I'm so friggin' sorry I was attempting to edit MNP round 2 when, I accidentally deleted Round 1 completely. It's likely irreversible. So if I can get every1 to PM me their submission tracks, that'd be great. I can at least archive them in HERE for now, until we can get things sorted out. It's not been a good week for me, apart from my blunderings here and my personal life shit. Hopefully when round 2 comes around the corner we'll be back in gear and with a clearer voting goal and everything. So THANK YOU ALL for participating and I hope to see you again at round 2.
  15. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) Round Two: Chrono Trigger: Peaceful Days MIDI Starts: Oct. 18th @ 2PM Ends: Nov. 1st @ 2PM Vote Stage: Nov 1 to 3 @ 2pm Submit your remix Here when completed. MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. A modicum of originality is recommended, but not required. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Competition Code and Conduct * MnP Instructions 1. Slight alterations of the source are encouraged, but not required. 2. Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. 3. Stay relatively close to the source's mood and notation. Refer to the example tracks for reference. 4. Any genre is acceptable, so long as it doesn't affect point #3 too much. 5. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). 6. Don't make any qualitative remarks about your submissions until after the voting stage. 7. When voting, please try to put enjoyability first, but consider production values as well. Example Tracks: FF7_RedXIII_Redux, EWJ_Wormaphobic Disorder, Source Terranigma_EnigmaOfABrokenSoul, FF7_SonOfChaos, SMW_Monstrous_Turtles, Hitman_Contract_Cleaner, MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier. - Don't be afraid to collaborate - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as you aren't going overboard with 'em - *Some* source tunes don't have drums or percussion for a reason. So keeping it that way may be the easiest way to retain much of the original feel, such as and
  16. Okay, after ripping my hair out trying to understand this concept, I'm going to emplace a new, stupidly easy system that even I can understand. Every CONTESTANT who votes gets +2 point, the previous winner has a vote that's worth 2x - and the points that you see on ThaSauce may NOT represent the actual score when I tally it, the score that I put in within the thread is the final vote. No first-place vote. This ENSURES the incentive for contestants to vote AND keeps it simple. This will likely be the final rule in place. In effect for ROUND 2. **again I apologize for the confusion and wrong scores 'n stuff, I look forward to your participation for round 2 and it should run much smoother.**
  17. Yeah, seems like a better way to roll. The first round has been a bit of a mess I think, mostly of my own doing, but hopefully round 2 will come out less crazy.
  18. Okay...so I was supposed to tally +3 for everyone who voted...since they voted for 3 different submissions. Does that mean if there were only 3 entries and the voter is also a contestant, then their votes would amount to +2, since they had to leave one spot blank?? Re:first place vote So then I guess we're keeping it the same, given that we want to give competitors an incentive to vote rather than the exact opposite.
  19. That's the curse of subjectivity my friend. You can never rely on us humans to be consistent with our own rules, but heck we try our best. Maybe some of the contestants didn't quite understand the rules before jumping in anyhow =/ anyways, I thought your take was pretty decent, but there were others I thought were closer to the rules and also executed a little better. So, I'm going to register your opinion on the Voting rules as a Yay
  20. Ok so first place is actually Argle. Sorry OneUp...I didn't check out my rules thoroughly enough before tallying the scores =/ my bad. I apologize to ALL of the contestants. I wasn't organized well enough for round 1 & hadn't even reviewed my own rules 100%, so I apologize for the mass confusion and improper scoring - luckily Bundeslang guided me on the right path and had helped fix up the ThaSauce page as well, to properly reflect the actual scores. Thank you all for bearing with me and I hope to see you for round 2 - this time with a better organized host Also, for round 2 and beyond...Make Sure To Vote: Reason being is that even if you scored the highest, someone else with a relatively high score can trump you if they DID vote, due to the first-place voting rule. If you guys don't like this rule, I can erase it and we can focus only on whoever got the highest score. So maybe a quick tally is in order: Yay or Nay for the First Place voting rule: Yay = 1 Nay =
  21. Yeah, I didn't quite understand what that meant when I copied it from your guideline lol. Oops.
  22. VOTING RESULTS TIME Whew sorry guys I slept in...had a lil too much fun last night So, it looks like it was a real close one: Winner is Argle (since he got the 1st place vote), 2nd is OneUp, 3rd is Trism Points Argle = 14 (first place vote) OneUp = 13 DrumJ8 = 12 Trism = 10 MindWanderer = 6 HarryUp = 2 GrapplingHook = 0
