  1. Yeaahhh...way back when my remixing skills were super raw too q.q But that rap skit you did was wicked sick lol. I doubt I'd take a similar approach as I did way back when, since the album host wants a super creepy/evil feel =P EDIT 1 I may be open for collabing again if you are =p, as some E-guitar shredding may be necessary and I lack the hardware for such. EDIT 2 I'm thinking of taking a similar approach to , at least for a good segment of the track, since this sorta feel would fit the album's bill perfectly >:3 What do you guys think??
  2. I claim... . I'll have a WIP ready in the very near future. Also...is it ok if I use parts of a different source from the same game?
  3. DOH good eye there Damashi! Oh yeah...don't we have a collab we need 2 do some time in the semi-near future?
  4. Any chance of there being a 3rd Bad Ass Boss album? I want in so badly pweez
  5. Sure I guess I can try and get this thing more thoroughly critted sometime soon-ish. Too late tonight
  6. Never know, could be an awesome cover worth voting #1 for Looking forward to hearing your submission
  7. Looking forward to seeing your submission
  8. Holy smokes. How'd you figure that out so quick Timmy? I gotta develop my critical ear more lol. Yeah, now that I heard it again, it seems that the 'verb is the main issue. Do what Timaes222 says ...also I was beginning to worry that my both my speakers and headphones were being derpy but it's good 2 know that I knew something felt off at least... I'd luv to see this remix getting posted one day Esperadooo - so I'd advise that you PM Rozovian or Willrock for a more in-depth review of your track...they'll set you on the right path to OCR-ness 'K...I'm hitting the sack for now. I might give this track 1 more listen with a more in-depth review tomorrow. Also, looking forward to your participation in the MnP compo Esperado (if you chose to do so)
  9. Guess I shoulda specefied =p Yes the powers that Be at ThaSauce gave me keys to the palace *queue in holy choir* EDIT Submit it here when thy time has cometh...aka tomorrow at noon the earliest. When it starts. Sry for the 6-7th edit, but wanna make sure it's clear... lol MnP01_FF7:Battle_Theme Edit over9000 I clarified where to submit it in the original post.
  10. bump. ROUND 1 BEGINS OCT3rd (THURS) AT NOON FF7: Battle Theme requested anonymously. Winner picks the track next round!
  11. I think the beat needs to be bigger/heavier to be qualified as cinematic big beat =p Regardless I thought it's pretty decent composition wise, albeit quite conservative for OCR standards I'd assume (not a bad thing in itself though ). However, on the production side, there's one issue that needs addressing: the muddyness . Unless my speakers and headphones are outta funk, there is a lot of mud in the medium to low frequencies - so you may want to pull down the lower frequencies of your pads, lead and support melodies - however, for the bass you'll want to reduce the medium to high frequencies - and voila you'll have a clean mix. Idk which Digital Audio Workstation you're running so I'm unsure of how 2 go about this, but just google EQ frequencies, or parametric EQ for your specific DAW and there should be a built-in vst or something of the like for that purpose. I hope this helps! =D
  12. Yep, don't need to tell me and may enter at will. Getting a hold of Rama has been a PAIN in the butt, but Starla was really intrigued by compo concept. In either case, I might start the compo w/out ThaSauce soon-ish. So stay tuned Yami and every1 else Oops I feel a little guilty mentioning this in Bunda's compo lol. I'm not trying to steal your competitors Bunda I swear!! EDIT Oh and great round everybody!!
  13. This is MnP Whereas PRC is anything goes (except for MIDI rips), Compo: MnP (Meat and Potatoes) allows you to either 1) make a midi rip and sound upgrade it, or 2)add in your own personal touch whilst keeping to the original meal/flavour...hence "meat and potatoes" :3 In short, it's a competition about VGM covers and conservative remixing. Check out the link above for more details. And don't be afraid to post therein :3 That is all. ...oh and thx for showing interest Esperado =D
  14. Mod can lock this thread, since it's been moved to the competitions thread.
  15. If not this year, then the next for sure I'll be contributing. I did come kinda late lol And thx for accepting me ^^
  16. Yeah idk why OCR ppl feel so inclined to always add percussion to their remixes. Not everything needs drums so I'm glad that you kept it that way...good stuff Argley! *drool* I want Omnisphere so badly q.q
  17. Thanks Trism dawg. Shameless self-promotion time!!: Good news everyone, my ThaSauce account is accessible for me once again so I won't need 2 pm Bunda every time I want to sub and vote lol. I may even become a project mod at ThaSauce... very soon...I'll find out in the evening today (most likely) So be sure to check out the Compo:MnP starting up sometime soon
  18. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) ROUND ONE MnP01_FF7:Battle_Theme Starts: Oct. 3rd noon Ends: Oct. 14th noon Vote Stage: Oct 14-16 noon to noon =p Midi Submit your remix Here when completed. MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. A modicum of originality is recommended, but not required. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Darkesword's competition conduct * MnP Instructions 1. Slight alterations of the source are encouraged, but not required. 2. Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. 3. Stay relatively close to the source's mood and notation. Refer to the example tracks for reference. 4. Any genre is acceptable, so long as it doesn't affect point #3 too much. 5. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). 6. Don't make any qualitative remarks about your submissions until after the voting stage. 7. When voting, please try to put enjoyability first, but consider production values as well. Example Tracks: FF7_RedXIII_Redux, EWJ_Wormaphobic Disorder, Source Terranigma_EnigmaOfABrokenSoul, FF7_SonOfChaos, SMW_Monstrous_Turtles, Hitman_Contract_Cleaner, MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier. - Don't be afraid to collaborate - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as you aren't going overboard with 'em - *Some* source tunes don't have drums or percussion for a reason. So keeping it that way may be the easiest way to retain much of the original feel, such as and
  19. Oh I misinterpreted if you were gonna post this on OCR or not. Since you haven't done so, I'd recommend just working on the production side of things to get this sounding as clean and crisp as you can ^^ - best of luck to you in your future remxin' endeavours. EDIT Sorry, I missed the questions you had asked: I meant just the bass sample in general, as it "swells" as the note's being held down, probably a pre-set sample in whichever VST you used. And I guess the ending works more or less.
  20. I'd like to offer my skills for collab and/or contribute to an actual song if there's still time. Gario just made it known me. IDK HOW I missed seeing this album lol. EDIT o right, my skills are: -sequencing: drum, synth, orchestral, vst etc -FL Studio/DAW
  21. This was yet another VERY difficult one to decide who got #1, but I voted nonetheless good luck guys ^^
