  1. oof. 4 days to go, no entries. I might actually have to participate, not just sub in a bonus =/
  2. After some deliberation, I agree =D I'll do it this way from now on to save myself time and make the round-page-thingy-post look less cluttered
  3. Usually I'm the one who decides on the source tune when I collaborate with people. I kinda want to mix it up and let the other person do the deciding lol. Uhh...so long as the source has a MIDI, I cannot transpose by ear =p
  4. Heyo Stahalamora, there's a new project up and I've claimed 2 tracks.  There is one very emotional track which could use a good operatic vocal touch :D

    Paths Less Travelled

The source tune I'm thinking of is this (BTW I already have a fairly well developed WIP).  Lemme know if you're up for collaborating avec moi.

oops meant to make that a PM lol

  5. Could be a good excuse to collaborate finally =p
  6. So then Yami's track is Crystal Teardrops?? Bit confused by the Underground Caverns title in the brackets.
  7. OH GOD Evangelion. That one ripped out my heart and stamped on it multiple times. If anyone wants to know what depression is, Evangelion is the perfect example thereof T_T but the Redo apparently isn't too bad edit Titan A.E. kicks ass
  8. Okay boys 'n girls Next round is up!
  9. Figured that since the Youtube link had the intro picture-title on it, I'd use that for the round's picture. It's the simple things in life
  10. Compo: MnP (Meat 'n Potatoes) Round 48: House of the Dead 2 - Emperor Type Alpha Midi: http://compo.thasauce.net/files/materials/MnP48_Hotd206.mid Youtube: "Did you know that there are no remixes for any of the House of the Dead games on OCR? Such sad. As such, here's Emperor Type Alpha theme from House of the Dead 2 on the Dreamcast. I'm not sure how it'll be received as an MNP source, but if we all played it safe all the time where would we be, eh?" -Trism Deadline: Jan 27th Wed 1PM Vote Ends: Jan 29th Friday Midnight Submit your remix Here when completed. **If you have technical difficulty with account activation at ThaSauce, please contact me via PM and I will submit your track and will also tally your vote** MISSION STATEMENT The goal of Compo:MnP is to promote that "meat and potatoes" conservative approach to remixing: this includes the mood and composition of source tunes. It is up to the remixer to create their own personalization, or to simply give it a sound upgrade. Moreover, the compo is a great opportunity to hone your remixing skills and give video game music the respect that is due. SOME reinterpretation is recommended, but not required. MnP Instructions/Guidelines 1. Covers and Sound Upgrades are permitted. 2. Most or all of the source notes must be present (but not necessarily in the exact same order), secondly the mood (energy, pacing, feelings being conveyed etc) should also be retained. For example, a source tune that is fast-paced and energetic that's remixed into a mellow/chill-out theme would be a hard sell. 3. If you decide to do a genre swap (i.e. symphonic to techno), make sure that the conditions of #2 are met. 4. Submissions must be at a maximum of 20mb (keeping in step with ThaSauce's file size max). 5. Only 1 entry per participant. Previous winner cannot participate but can submit a BONUS entry. 6. All competitors and voters must adhere to the rules stated within: Competition Code and Conduct MISC/TIPS - When picking a source tune, make sure it has a MIDI to make ppl's lives easier. - In-game sound FX are permitted, so long as they don't comprise the whole track (i.e. replacing entire MIDI tracks with just sfx)
  11. Results Trism 1st with 15 points. Kat got 2nd with 13 points Chalis got 3rd with 10 points Trism, pm me for round 48 (so close to round 50!! Wherein we're gonna do something SPECIAL =p) Comments Good submission and voter turn up. Supercoolmike!!! I thought that Devious Twins was actually quite good! Because the soundscape, pacing and mood were retained. Notation re-working is pretty decent - adds to the original feel nicely. 1:25 break down was real sexy. Devious Twins does meander a tad, but I LOVE to meander myself, so it's all good in the hood bro. 4.9/5 easy. Sorry for not adding in a comment on ThaSauce for your bonus track, but better to be late than never, right?
  12. Little confused, are the pairings for Alucard bracket going to be announced at Jan. 13th?
  13. We've only got 2 votes in. Mine and Chalis' - would like to see at least 1 more
  14. Welcome to the Voting Stage! There are 3 entries this round. There is 1 Bonus entry this round There is a voter bonus this round Hipnotyk has a vote worth 2x Don't vote for Bonus entries please Participants may not vote for themselves Vote ends Midnight Friday Jan 8th Comments: decided to extend voting round since I was late in posting it.
  15. Woah missed that one. Thanks for the heads up. Thanks Kat. Okay so we've got 3 entries, got roughly 1 more day for other people to submit something
  16. It no longer had 2015 for the compo start line...guess when the new year rolled in 2015 ceased to exist. Anyhow I've made the startline Jan 1 2016...due date's in 3 days and 0 entries >.< I'll def. extend the round if we don't have 2 entries by then.
  17. Source tune is Umaro's theme FF6: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dfCXwkTrh3I

  23. AJGJAShggkgjasdhgshdg I FORGOT TO VOTE. I'm fired. I'm so sorry guys for letting you down T_T RIGHT anyhow, I'll post comments right naow - then get the VOTE TALLY in pronto. hipnotyk - very MnP. Very good cover-ish stuff with some slight variations; production is nice. fxsnowy - I actually woulda voted you in first, but blah I fail at life I guess, sorry dude. REALLY digged the flute humanization (was that done live??). The other elements were super on par as well! esperado - the master volume needed at least a 1.4dB boost. That part aside, I really love the re-interpretation going on, as it was indeed still in the MnP range. Probably how I would've approached this source tune if I got off my ass to do it haha. Trism - Pretty nifty guitar cover mix there Trism. I'm digging it!
