  1. Just yesterday, I was wondering when this mix would be posted! bLiNd effing killz it yet again! Amazing work; nothing more to be said.
  2. mmkay, submitted. http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page_songInfo.cfm?bandID=582991&songID=7847850
  3. Thanks for the comments man! Yeah, that sound you're referring to is a processed harp synth (made famous by Enya, lol). haha, I guess I can see why it would be outta place, but I use that one a heck of a lot. I like to think it's the 'Hollidayrain' sound! http://reunion.sgxmusic.com/125%20-%20Hollidayrain%20-%20Sulawesi.mp3 Ooo, hard trance synths? I never really thought of that, haha. I'll try it out and see how it sounds! Thanks again!
  4. YEAH! haha Pretty awesome stuff man, thanks again!
  5. Sup guys, Maybe some of you remember this submission. I first finished it in October last year, and had it rejected because of serious production issues and, basically, lack of life in the big sections. The second time, which I finished back in April, I realized I was trying too hard. My sound-field was ridiculously clouded...and I mean RIDICULOUSLY. So, obviously, that one got rejected for production issues again. That really wasn't a surprise to me because I tried exporting it several times and it still continue to sound "terribad." So, basically, I completely started over. Since April, I've acquired a bunch of new sounds, both percussion instruments and synths, so I put those into effect. Source: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/gameboy/kbb-stage1.mid Overview: -Starts off with a little bell riff and bass leading to the 'pick up notes leading to the melody of the source.' (You'll know when you hear it) -After some vamping, the lead synth comes in (which was made from a mini-moog emulator) and plays the main melody (A). What's nice about that synth was the fact that it allows me to easily control articulation so you'll hear a lot of distinct slurs vs. some staccato-ish notes. -Then the main groove comes out and a little latin rock groove comes in to formally introduce the source accompanied by some standard progressive trance blips and bloops and a piano. -At this point, the track kicks off and all of the main introduced components and thrown together along with a countermelody. -The second half of this active portion introduces my interpretation of the arpeggios in the source using a famous synth (popularized by Glenn Morrison, Deadmau5 and Adam K & Soha). -Next, this part stays pretty similar with the light piano arps, sidechained-ish strings, then a big synth solo with the Moog. A nice build up with the Deadmau5 synth (automation on cutoff filter) highlights the introduction of the ( melody via piano, then pluck synth. -A big build up with some kool gating fx leads to the homestretch. In this part, while the countermelody is playing, the lead synth goes off on a crazy solo after a repeat. Then, everything is thrown together again when the pluck synth plays the ( melody and a third moog kinda sings over it. -A final build up leads to a sin drop and the soundfield gradually dissipates as delay starts to wear off. Thuh end. Hollidayrain - Break0ut Pr0.mp3 - 4.94MB So, basically, I would LOVE to hear what you all have to say before I submit to the judges. Criticism is absolutely welcome . Thanks! -H.R
  6. Even outside of the musical realm, the guy was a PHENOMENAL entertainer. He will probably be remembered just as much for his phenomenal dancing skills as he will for his music. Additionally, a fair portion of his songs have good messages too (ie. Black and White). Combining these things to his popularity ALL OVER THE WORLD (yes, even my family in India knows him and his music all too well), charisma, and longevity, he is an undoubted legend in my book. He will be missed greatly. RIP MJ
  7. This is like Ferry Corsten meets bLiNd right here! I wish I knew the source tune so I could have a better understanding of where it comes from, but frankly, it doesn't even matter. I feel like I'm listening to one of Ferry's old System F tracks (like 'Out of the Blue') vs. one of Ferry's LEF tracks (like 'Beautiful') vs. bLiNd (Duh)...wow. This is sooo sick dude...
  8. Hey Beatdrop, I've been a long time fan, and more recently, a fellow competitor on ourstage.com and I finally downloaded this album today. And I must say, it is an absolute EPIC. Wow. Gotta love the glitching effects, eh? I'd say that Flash, Burn Out, Heatseeker, This Isn't Happening, and Seek High + Low were my personal favorite tracks on here. Everyone always gets caught up with the euros and prog trances of the world when they first come across electronic music, but this album is truly 'electronic' music; and I love it. I wish you the best of luck and I will try to spread the word as much as I can. Good luck man! -H.R
  9. Audix said a while back: "Odds are WAY against coming across Blind's track in a random Club/Dance battle. :)" The funny part about that is...that's exactly how I came across the track. I didn't know at the time that bLiNd and Leifo were collectively known as the Vega Projekt, but I was blown away by the track when I discovered it while judging some club/dance. Then, once I heard some 'bLiNd-ish' pads as the mix progressed, I started to suspect it....absolutely amazing. Either way, I'm really excited for this month's competition. Hopefully, we can get Visions (you), Me Semper Maneas (SGX), The First Day (Vega Projekt), Antiviral (me, H.R), Breathing You In (zircon), and Arigato (Jewbei) all into the finals in Club/Dance! I think we already have 3 of these tracks in the top 20...so, best of luck to all!
  10. This is an absolute epic. The whole piece is great, but I especially loved the Oceanlab-style trance section starting at 5:18. If someone had told me that Above & Beyond produced that portion of the song, I would have completely believed it. Great work DigiE!
  11. I can say, honestly, that the two minute intro of this track is among the most beautiful two minute spans of any track I've heard in a long, long time. For starters, the piano solo is absolutely amazing. Dynamically, musically...everything. Then, when that warm solo lead comes in and amazingly, makes the piano part sound even better! God, what an awesome intro. The rest of the song after the two minute mark is sick too; it reminds me a lot of the track 'In Front of Me' by Infected Mushroom, especially the bassline. But those first two minutes alone make this track one of my instant favorites. Great work!
  12. This is one of my favorite ReMixes on OCR, easily. I think that the cadenza in this song might be my among my all-time favorites! Beautiful. Those castanets sound amazing too. Chalk one up on the win column!
  13. Wow, great tone! This is some excellent stuff! I'm very impressed with both the recording and the playing; especially, as I just mentioned, your tone, as well as your articulation in the Rose exercise. Keep it up!
  14. I just heard about his condition today and I truly wish the best for bLind and that his health improves as soon as possible. His music has always inspired my own productions; in fact, I probably owe my interest in the genre entirely to him. His Extreme G remix was the first song I heard on OCRemix and one of the first trance songs I had ever heard ANYWHERE. Since then, I always jump when I see that a new bLiNd has been posted, so seeing his name in this light was dishearting. I will be sure to pray for him. Get well soon bLiNd!
  15. FFmusic Dj's worst song right here. Downright horrible, poor synths, frustrating bass sound (sounds like a slapper? wtf? ). On top of that, there's nothing to complement the lead synth... But it's ok, ur still one of my favorite remixers ever, Haroon . Everyone's entitled to one of these, and apparently it was your first anyways.
  16. I have a couple issues: 1) I really don't like some of the flatu-synths. They don't really sound clean to me, and if normal *cleaner* so to speak were used I think the song would have sounded better. 2) The drums to me are sub par. Both in quality and sound. They just don't cut it for me. THAT being said, I still LOVE THIS SONG! The intro chord progression is sick, the synths solos are AWESOME and I love the piano work. This is a great mix. Also, GREAT arpeggios! 8/10
  17. One of the greatest trance remixes i've ever heard, EVER. Sometimes when I'm sitting in a quite room, I'll start humming the string part that starts at 1:17. The synths are used perfectly. 100/100, this is what i for in a ReMix. You are my hero bLiNd.
  18. This song is one of my all-time favs. I love it. The chord progression always makes me feel happy and I love the lead synth used in the main theme! Rayza is pretty much the guy who inspired me to start listening and appreciating good electronica . Props 2 u! 10/10.
