  1. Medics are invariably invaluable, and demos and soldiers as well, but more heavy with the soldiers because they don't do nearly as much damage to themselves when they x-jump (x = sticky or rocket). Snipers can be a gamechanger with one hit kills (headshots) and have obviously the farthest reach of any class, plus there tend to be skilled snipers from lots of older FPSs, since it just requires precision aiming that can be gotten from other games. There tends to be a heavy too since the heavy/medic combo is very powerful, especially with no crits. Two medics would be nice, but there is the concern that you cannot protect both adequately. As for my thoughts, I'm not really interested in doing any such - I don't care for trashtalk, and I'm not really interested in having any connection to atma after all the bullshit he has done combined with all of the chances he has been given. A seperate challenge I have been issued though was by Optik (those of you who have been around for a while know who he is) - he generally plays with another community now that I guess he's a part of, but he offered a challenge of deFy regulars vs. OCR regulars, with 24 people on each side and matches of 3v3 for each game if I recall the details right (it has been like two weeks since he messaged me about this or something like that). If there's enough interest for this, then we'll do it - it'd be for fun, no pressure or anything like that.
  2. 3. Doesn't beat my 80 point spy round on defense on Cashworks yesterday!
  4. I'd be fine with either - my summer schedule is looking pretty flexible, minus a trip at the end of July for Andy & Jill's wedding and potential subsequent concert hopping to see Dream Theater, Zappa, Pain of Salvation, and Queensryche. Also to the St. Louis people - I'm going to the Nightwish concert there this Friday if anyone is interested in joining in.
  5. I wonder if the Gameservers people did it in an attempt to resolve a complaint of ours at some point.
  6. So...do we have any consensus on what city would be a good one to meet up at?
  7. So I missed the show, but I found the download off of the site here: http://wmucradio.com/stream_ripper/mon/ (download the 8-bit Radio mp3) Interesting how well it flows from what I'm hearing so far - I'll probably listen to more when I get back home from work (or maybe even listen to it at work). Edit: Oh, I got a bit confused with most of the show being other songs...
  8. That is weird, because there is no way I could have changed it to 0.
  9. I didn't put sv_pure 0 - I thought you did that? I always had it in my server.cfg as 1.
  10. So I suspect the mapcycle is a bit messed up because of the sv_pure 0. I'm setting it back to 1, as the default whitelist is different from sv_pure 0.
  11. Gamestop did that to me when I bought DQ5 for the DS.
  12. The project started back in October or November of' 07. I seem to remember there being unfinished WIPs up until April '08 or so, maybe longer. Maybe the other one wasn't the final version of the track? (i.e. minor tweaks left to be done)
  13. Crappy vocals & poor songwriting generally do it for me. Crappy lyrics or lyrics that don't fit a song's style also puts me off big time.
  14. I agree with you on laptops. Unfortunately I travel a good deal and having a laptop at work is convenient.
  15. Matlab isn't all that bad...we use Mathematica here, but my department did invent it after all.
  16. No, people hate on them because...*drumroll*they actually do think they suck.
