  1. And the pairings are out! Check your PMs! If you didn't get one, let me know asap! Some naughty people didn't send me addresses also...get on it, you know who you are!
  2. Bumping up - today is the last day to sign up! I will likely be doing the matching at about 7 pm EST.
  3. Wow, there's a lot of vocal tracks - it seems to dominate the album. Not that that's a bad thing of course. I'll try to give some song by song breakdowns at some point. I do have one critique though - some of the tracks had too much bass. I think it should've been toned a little down. I enjoyed the album on first listen, will want to listen to more. Great job everyone!
  4. Oh, I never posted my Wii U ID? I think it's BahamutWC...will have to double check on that though.
  5. I enjoyed this episode greatly. It has a positive message to it, and entertained as per the course.
  6. Wednesday is the last day to sign up - that night I will match people up and PM the matches. Edit: And I just built the random person matcher in a couple of minutes!
  7. So playing through some more of Knack, Knack is long...at least double the length of Call of Duty's single player sadly. It has a very mindless feel to it, for better or worse - worse to me, as I don't like it when games have that feel, but others may enjoy it. I think it's a better buy than Call of Duty though. Also a side comment on Knack - apparently they rushed the game to release, there are some segments where they characters' mouths have the motion as if they're talking in Japanese, but have the English voice acting. It's a little bothersome at times, but it's not everywhere thankfully. My controller is giving off a weird rubbery smell though, not liking that.
  8. 1 more week to sign up! As for what I may want - surprise me! But, don't get me a PS4 or Wii U, as I already have those . I also have a 3DS, although I would like a Zelda 3DS XL...but I don't recommend getting me any particular games for those platforms, as there is a decent chance I already have them. It doesn't have to be a gaming related gift for me even, although I like my fair share of nerdy stuff like anyone else.
  9. So I got to finally get in some quality time with the PS4 lately, now that I've gotten past the stress of finishing a particular website while sick (& I think overloaded on caffeine in two weeks). Call of Duty: Ghosts - single player is way too short. I do not intend on doing multiplayer, so this was a sort of waste. I'm not sure I'm going to buy another Call of Duty unless it's on a heavy sale, none seems to measure up to the greatness of Modern Warfare. Resogun - great side shooter. If you liked Super Stardust HD, you will like Resogun. So far it is my favorite game on the PS4, and it's a downloadable for $15. Contrast - controls feel clunky, but the concept is not bad. It's an adventure/puzzle type of game. This is also a downloadable for $15. Knack - graphics looks pretty nice, but the gameplay seems a bit on the bland side. I think anyone can live without such a game. Concept isn't bad though for an action game, it just feels really limited in scope. The only really compelling game so far is Resogun. Everything else is sort of meh. Unless you're playing Call of Duty or Battlefield for multiplayer, I think you might as well pass so far.
  10. I'm also offering the OCR suite for people to stay in!
  11. I just started up some Resogun - that game is awesome. I seem to remember hearing that it was made by the guys behind Super Stardust HD? Best game I've played so far on the PS4.
  12. I was at a hackathon this past weekend, and spending my spare time finishing up a website, but that is out of the way! I shall be on this Friday!
  13. Leave this discussion out of the PS4 thread. That is final.
  14. I've played it a bit - not a whole lot since I participated in a hackathon this weekend, and spent most of my spare time working on another website. Amongst my workplace, consensus has been that it isn't terribly impressive so far. Impressions so far - I ran into an infinite 'Contract ready to install' notification bug, which was pretty annoying since the game is like 2.2 GB. Sony doesn't provide any good way of disabling the notification either, which is pretty much a failure in UX. Otherwise, the UI is much refined over the previous iterations of it found in the PSP & PS3. Launch purchasers of the PS4 are rewarded with a $10 credit in the PS Store, which was nice (I finally bought Flower). I snagged the Playstation Plus subscription since it nets 2 free games (~$30 worth in the PS Store), but I've yet to try Contract or Resogun yet. The controller feels nice, but two complaints that remain. First, the L2/R2 triggers are still resistive, which is annoying. Second, the analog sticks are still in an awkward location for FPS games. When you push forward on the left stick, you still sort of feel like you are moving right due to the diagonal position your thumb has to move. For some reason, the d-pad feels a little better than previous iterations, which were a bit abrasive & blister-causing. The rubbery analog sticks feel great compared to all of the previous PS controllers. The controller feels very comfortable while playing in general. I'll put some game impressions some other time...too tired.
  15. Huh? The PS4's launch lineup was pretty garbage. I'm skeptical it will even match the Wii U's library a year later even. I've been disappointed to say the least.
  16. I'm going to be pretty disappointed if Amazon doesn't get it to me early enough tomorrow - really want to bring it in to work asap so we can start gaming .
  17. I'm game for tonight - I was out the past two nights unfortunately .
  18. So it's that time of the year again! Rules: If you sign up, I will randomly match people up to send gifts to, and give you the name & address of your recipient. Then, it's your job to send that person a nice fitting present (but not vicious please, or re-gifting). To sign up, just message me your name & address (and feel free to bump up the thread ). Just a note, you do not have to give a large gift - small gifts are ok too! It is the thought that ultimately counts, so you can even give nice gifts that don't cost any $ at all! If you celebrate a particular religion, feel free to mention it, as well as any other general gift giving preferences, wishes, or even just your likes/dislikes to help guide the gift giver.
