This is surprisingly enjoyable to listen to You've definitely caught my attention. The derivative material that sandwiches in the source is really well written and flows nicely with the song - try to include more of that interpretation in the middle parts as well, where you basically hit the source verbatim. Other than that, I wasn't a huge fan of the flute sound you used, and the transition from the intro to the first segment feels just a bit too loud and abrupt. Work a bit more interpretation and rearrangement into it, pick a better flute sample, and you've got something submittable! Fantastic start!

OCR01893 - Mega Man 2 "Wily's Requiem"

Not quite up to the amazing level of your original material, production-wise, but it's still a nice romp around an old theme. Your arrangements are always great, Neko I'm definitely getting a "Passing of the Blue Crown" vibe from much of this song, as well. -
Ah yeah, the top links work! What a beautiful ceremony, the location you picked was absolutely perfect

Hm... how come the Facebook album redirects me to the Facebook home page when I try to view it? Do I need to befriend someone in order to view the album? :\

Bad Dudes: Chronotorius (new album!) - Go buy it!

Well, as strapped for cash as I am and as much as I should be pinching every penny until I get a job, you guys put together a marketing plan that's pretty hard to say no to I've only casually perused the sample tracks so this should be almost a complete surprise to me when it finally arrives. Let's hope this one doesn't disappoint! -
Yes, please! This would be nice :)

OCR01887 - F-Zero GX "Beyond Velocity"

The sustained synth at 3:20 really hit the spot for me, it felt like a climax to a completely chill and enjoyable track. You picked great synth and bell sounds too, this is exactly what I've come to expect and love from you, Rozo! -
Used to play back in Junior High, but got permanently banned for impersonating a moderator to try and get a scammer to give my friend's stolen items back Haven't played it since. I'm glad I stopped; it was fun for me at the age I played it at, but the evil Commie trading system that's been implemented recently completely turned me off from ever wanting to try it again. I don't know why people put up with the absurd restrictions that have been put in place by Jagex lately, it simply takes the fun out of being able to trade with people in the first place.

TAAAAUUUUUUCCCEEEEEEERRR!! A new remixer was brought on, and not only did you fail to update the first post, but you forgot to make a POST ABOUT THE UPDATE!? Madness! -
Sorry I came off as crass and stubborn; I have experienced the problem you described many times and your method does work to fix it. It was actually one of the methods I tried to get things back to normal, and it helped on the iTunes end of things, but the problem still remained on my iPod. On iTunes, everything was organized under one artist like it should be, but when synced to an iPod it started displaying duplicate artists for every song that I'd added a "Sort Artist" tag to. That's why I was 99% sure that it was a separate problem than the one you described; I didn't just throw out your suggestion without testing it It's a moot issue now, though, because I did come up with a system that worked well for me; simply checking the "Part of a Compilation" box on every OCR song. So if anyone else is interested in organizing all your remixes under one artist while still retaining the actual artist information, this is probably the easiest way to do it. I do appreciate the help from all you guys, though, even if I came across the solution in my own way. Thanks for your time

The problem is that none of this shows up on iTunes; when I use the Sort Artist field in iTunes everything is neatly bunched up into one Artist. However, when I sync to my iPod, everything goes to hell. Google has led me to believe that it's a problem with using newer tag protocol with older-generation iPods, but I'm not 100% sure since I haven't found anyone else with this problem. I've had that problem before but honestly I don't think this is the same thing :\ The composer idea is one that I attempted and got about halfway through before I realized that it wouldn't carry over to sites like last.fm, which is kind of a big deal to me. Playlists would work except I want to keep the clutter down on my Artist search because that's what I use 90% of the time to find my music. I've thought about using the Compilations feature to group everything together, but I'm honestly not sure how that works.

You're welcome It actually looks kind of crappy to me now that I examine it closer, but if you're satisfied then I won't worry about it for now. If for some reason it doesn't meet the quality standards, just shoot me a PM and I'll try it again.

Good enough for ya? EDIT: I think this one looks better. I'll leave 'em both up for you to compare:

I'm the kind of person that keeps all my favorite OCR songs on my iPod and listens to them daily. At the current time I've got just shy of a thousand songs from this site in my iTunes library, and I'm having a really hard time managing that many different artists without completely cluttering up my library. At first, I simply edited the tags of every song I got from this site to have the artist set as "OCRemix" so that all remixes would be neatly categorized on my iPod under one artist. However, as I lurked more on the site and became familiar with certain artists, I felt that it was unfair to the remixers to dissociate them with the music that they'd created. So I've painstakingly retagged all of my MP3s with the proper artist info. Only problem is, now my library is filled with a million different artists and it's completely clogged up my Artists display on iTunes. I tried typing "OCRemix" in the "Sort Artist" field on each song, which works fine for keeping iTunes organized, but my 3rd generation iPod is now seriously screwed up. Not only does it still display each artist name, but it also displays the artist "OCRemix" 4-dozen times throughout the whole list. In short, my iPod refuses to accept the Sort Artist field and instead decided to massacre everything I've been working on for the last week Surely there must be some way to keep all my OCR songs confined into one place on the Artist search while still being able to maintain and view the name of the actual artist that created the song... right?

I'm a huge fan of Skrypnyk's style of mind-blowing electronica drumwork and have spent a lot of time searching for similar artists but to little avail. It's one of my favorite styles of music and it's disappointing that I've only been able to find one artist that actually uses it on a frequent basis Also, is there a technical name for that subgenre of electronic music that might aid me in my search? Thanks in advance

Playing a game for so long you start to see it IRL...
Emunator replied to PROTO·DOME's topic in General Discussion
Last time I played one ongoing game of Tetris DS for a week and a half (scored 22 million points before accidentally leaving the game unpaused and dying) I had the Tetris Effect going on for nearly 6 months afterward. That's the kinda thing that'll drive a guy crazy after so long of it happening. I had no idea it was an actual effect though, I thought it was just one of those things that only happened to insanely addicted people like me Oh, and back in elementary school, after playing Super Mario 64, I would always envision Mario wall-jumping his way around the classroom or my desk while I was bored. I still unconsciously do that sometimes. -

OCR01885 - Final Fantasy IV "Kind of Green"
Emunator replied to djpretzel's topic in ReMix Reviews & Comments
I don't know what it is about the song, but every time I listen to it, it makes me want to cry a little bit. I don't think it's an intentionally sad song, and it could just be the mood I was in when I first listened to it, but for whatever reason this one really connects with me on an emotional level. It's definitely my favorite song off of the FFIV album, I'm glad this one came into fruition! And yes, I do get the Animal Crossing vibe from this song. If there were credits in an Animal Crossing game, I could see this style of music being used. -

Ah yes, sockpuppet got it right If you're talking about the electro-orchestra part that sounds like Audix's track, it is Audix's If you're talking about the mellow guitar/piano/etc. part at the end of the file ds is trash posted, then it's a completely different track. -
