Once we get writeups from Cyril for his 5 tracks, Krow gets in touch about his songs, and we get someone to master the rest of the unmastered songs, we could be very, very close to wrapping this up. I'm willing to just put in a few days solid and beast through the encoding and tagging, that's not a big deal. I just need help with the mastering.

Updated the mix: http://tindeck.com/listen/zpqn Just some slight changes in this version, but I wanna bump this because I was able to recover my project file and continue working on this I'm really having a hard time racking my brain for ways to improve the B-section of the mix and actually layer in melodies/countermelodies. I might be in over my head, haha. Either way, would love to get some opinions here. Also, is that brass riff in the middle of the song lining up properly? I can't tell.

Wow, this took me by surprise. It's very conservative but the production overall is really high quality. It does its own thing eventually with some original writing so if the lead writing was interpretive enough, this could definitely be OCR-quality material. This would definitely rock with some vocals or sax, hope that becomes a reality in the near future!

Alright, this feels like it's improving but I think ultimately, you're being limited by the software/samples you have to work with. The drum, piano, and synth writing is definitely getting pretty good. You've got some awesome improvisation that fits the creepy mood of the source, and those runs after about 2:35 on the piano are damn cool! The sequencing on the piano still doesn't feel very realistic, it feels a little bit too quantized. I also noticed with this listen that the intro feels very detached and there's no real flow between that and the body of the mix. It just fades in and out, and then there's another fade-in at the start of the next section. You can definitely smooth out that transition further with the tools you've got. In my honest opinion, I'm starting to worry that Garage Band just doesn't have expressive enough samples to really carry an arrangement like this. I'm not gonna say it can't be done, because I don't really know the limits on what your DAW can and can't do, but right now it feels like sample quality is the biggest issue working against you here :\ Your arrangement here is becoming increasingly better with each update, but the sound quality overall is bringing it down in a major way. Maybe a collab might be in order if you really want to bring this up to the OCR bar?

Alright, this one sounds pretty cool, it's weird hearing dubstep bass in a 4-on-the-floor track. The piano feels noticeably fake but I really like the little production touches you put on it (I think there's some reversed piano sfx at the end of certain riffs) that makes it work in the song. No worries there. 2:38 transition was pretty damn cool I hear what Will's saying about the balance, this could potentially use a bit more work but what I'm listening to right now sounds like it could probably pass as-is. Might not be perfect, but it definitely feels above the bar anyway. I'd love to hear what some rebalancing/mastering tweaks could do to this though.

I'm pretty sure Archangel's Abbey mix is finished, or at least, he sent me a finished version. Might want to double-check about that

I actually think this would be a really neat idea, I like the idea of doing more themed remix projects like this, even if the OSTs have already been remixed to death. I'm 100% in favor of this and wish you all the best, Wiesty

Feels bad man, real sorry to hear that You should at least post the WIP here if you've still got it, or... maybe try and get it re-done in time for the release? We'd still love to have it on board if you can find any way possible to do so, but of course we won't hold it against you if you have to drop. Shit happens, I'm really sorry bro

Yeah, to be fair, if I was voting for anybody based on their name, it'd be Will. I mean, it kinda promises that he's going to rock. I might as well not even listen to his stuff because I already know how it's gonna go down just looking at his name. prophetik, while I'm sure he makes awesome tunes too, does not have a username which promises an equivalent amount of rockage. This puts him at a serious disadvantage to anyone such as myself who considers names the ultimate voting criteria.
