  1. Sad that the last thing I posted on your wall had to do with that terrible class. Let me remedy this by saying that I heard your jazzy Song of Storms and it was amazing! I gotta see you play piano someday.

  2. Whoops, forgot that this should be a private message.

    What up dood!

  3. Hey guys, I haven't submitted anything here in a while, so I thought I'd take another stab at a remix. I'm remixing the Death Egg Zone from Sonic and Knuckles into a dance/electronic thing. I'm not sure what to call my genres anymore! Anyway, here's what I have so far: http://soundcloud.com/kruai/death-egg-zone-remix I've been at it for a day or two and now I'm not sure what to do. Do you guys have any recommendations? Update: Messed with balancing and compression, few changes to instruments. Newest version: http://soundcloud.com/kruai/eggs-in-spaaace-death-egg-zone-remix
  4. Thanks for the reply! And yes, Relics of the Chozo is one of my favorite OCRemix albums. I appreciate your compliments and I understand that not every song can appeal to everyone (I meant to get a wide variety of sounds). Also, thanks for the artwork comment! I painted it with my DS so I was afraid it wouldn't turn out well
  5. I finally finished my album, which is a mix of techno, orchestra, and rock. It's designed to be one long song, divided into tracks (not implying that the songs sound the same). I tried to cover many genres, and I hope I kept a good balance of upbeat vs downtempo. http://kruai.bandcamp.com/ Please tell me what you think!
  6. It's an in-between song (so it's on the short side) for an album I'm making called Conflict. http://soundcloud.com/kruai/rebellion Please let me know what you think! Kruai
  7. Actually, it did get to the panel, and I subsequently posted the most recent version of my remix (posted near the top of page 6). I appreciate all of your help and I will do my best to sort out all of its current issues whenever I decide to pick it back up! Also, I'm really bad at deciding which instruments need to leave once I've put them in. But I'll use my judgement and try to clean it up a bunch.
  8. It got rejected. After they say NO, is there any point on continuing working on it (can I submit again)?
  9. All right, thanks for the tip! Also, I agree with Sonic over there that it needs to be EQ'd a bit. In Ascension, the drums are kind of lacking... I hear a lot of middle frequencies, but not much bass/treble, which is taking a lot away from the "punch." Wings of Ra, love the scratching, but as Sonic said, the guitar sounds really lame, sorry! I'd checkout an amp like Voxengo Boogex, or if you want to spend cash on it, Native Instruments Guitar Rig. Guitar Rig sounds better in most cases, of course, but it comes at a price. Also, in song 2.0, I hear some interesting volume effects going on. Are you using sidechain compression there? Just curious. What host are you using, btw? FL, Cubase, Reaper...? I refrained from commenting on musical structure (progression, tune, etc) because I have trouble judging those
  10. Hi! I like the sound of this mix, it's kind of floaty. I don't know if that's what you're going for or not, but it was kind of relaxing. Beyond that, though, I found it kind of boring. The intro seems way too long to me, since it's just one chord played over and over again. I would figure building on top of it would be enough, but in this case, I lost interest. Also, I don't know if it's just me, but I hear a LOT of reverb here... way too much IMO. Listening to it again, you could use a cymbal swish or a build/release for that little section where the intro changes to the chorus. The change was kind of abrupt for all that intro. And the tune isn't very catchy, but if you're going for a kind of background music, that may be what you're going for. I dunno. Sorry if I was vague at all, but hope it was a little helpful
  11. I'm sorry, I don't have too much advice because I'm still learning too. It all sounds pretty good to me, and I was really impressed with the slowdown/scratching sounds in the Wings of Ra song... how did you do that? I'd like to be able to make those kind of sounds. Thanks
  12. Ooo, that instrument sounds kinda like a sax but not quite. This is perfect for keeping me relaxed during work. It's got a nice warm sound, but I'm not sure if I care for the distorted sounds that start at around 1:50. Somebody said it was voice but it sounds really weird to me... kind of interrupts the peace I was enjoying for the first half of the song. Other than that, this song is quite enjoyable. Keep it up!
  13. Hi! I'm working on a song that mixes Drum&Bass and Orchestra. It's mostly DnB though, with some Dubstep type stuff at the beginning. Just wondering what everybody thought of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-kQQIdwFFws I know it's a lower quality version, being on youtube, but I wanted it to be accessible (and I'm more interested in arrangement/sound ideas rather than quality). Thank you for your time! Kruai
  14. Whoa! CSC 216-001? Me too! :D

This is crazy. I'm gonna go make cake.

  15. Hey! Just wondering if we have any classes together next semester. I'm taking CSC 216, CSC 226, MUS 306. Figured those were the most likely classes we would have in common, unless you're taking fencing! :D

  16. Thanks! I'll try to soften the synth before I release it I guess. It is kinda screechy. Any other opinions? I'd like to know what I can do better in my next songs ^^
  17. So this Saturday I started working on what I thought was just going to be a test for some instruments I've been working on. It eventually turned into this! Just wondering what you think of it. http://www.mediafire.com/?mmjkyz2zimz Also, what does it make you think of? Can't think of a name for it yet. How about... March of the Cannonbears.
  18. Okay so I've worked really hard to try to remake the project file. I have some new instruments that I'm incorporating and I tried to fix some of the balance issues and make it less muddy. Actually, I did submit this one before and it got rejected. I can keep trying on this one and resubmit it, right? Anyway, here's what I have so far. Sound similar? http://www.mediafire.com/?y12zmjz2w2a
  19. So I was wondering if there was a way I could use these amp sim presets. All of the free amp sims I have used so far cannot use .fxb and .fxp. I would like to use presets such as the ones from Shreddage, but I am unable to use them. And I'd really, really like it if the sim was free. Thanks!
  20. Oh. Aaah ok wasted time. Whatever >.>
  21. By the way, am I not supposed to get an e-mail response when I submit? I didn't get one... and now I feel like I'm asking this question a bit late.
  22. Well, I wasn't going to because it's basically just a re-creation of what I had before with a few touch-ups... but if you really want to hear it I can post it http://www.mediafire.com/?lajnntytyyj A bit too much bass now imo... and a few other things.
  23. All righty. I've already submitted once to OCRemix, but I think I've remade a file that's pretty darn close to what I had before. Changes include some stereo effects added to some instruments. I'll keep working on when this submission doesn't make it.
  24. Congrats OCRemix, and thanks for providing about half of the music that I consume daily!
