Yuck...listening to my track after a decent night's sleep, I'm not incredibly happy with how some of the mixing turned out. Whatever, that's what happens when you work on a song for 12 hours straight, haha.

This song IS shaping up. A bit more slowly than I'd like, but it's going, and it will be excellent when the time comes to submit. Also, I am drinking caffeine for the first time in two weeks. This helps.

I WOULD be the one to mix during finals week, haha. Hopefully I can still pull something out of my hat in the last couple days of mixing.

Having been listening to this album for the last several months, I can assure you all...it's gonna be one of the best to ever hit OCR.

The Nirvana riff in your track was basically what made me sit up and take notice of it in the first place.

I absolutely love how this compo is bringing some of the lurkers out of the woodwork. C'mon, the rest of you! Join in! We don't bite...much. Seriously though, I'm really stoked at the quality of music coming out of here both from my team (whom I am very proud of so far) and from everyone else (y'all are making this stuff INTENSE!), and I'm sure everyone can say the same.

'Fraid I gotta side with the Orlouge here. Dunno what kinds of music you'd usually listen to on your local elevators, but any time I hear the words "elevator music" I think "canned Bossa Nova," A.K.A. some of the most boring music on earth.

Wow. A lot of REALLY nice entries this week. The guitar-driven ones seemed to be especially strong. Here's my top three, plus runner-up: ONE: AMT's song really hit me with a dose of "that hit the spot," especially with the Nirvana stylings partway through. You know how sometimes you hear a song and you're like, "Screw reason, this song ROCKS and I love it!"? Yeah. That. This is the kind of song I'd stick in my car, roll down the windows, and blast at full volume. TWO: Of course, I couldn't leave out the lo-tempo halc track with a Willrock solo. So delicious. An argument could probably be made that this is, indeed, dubstep. Well-executed and I love it. THREE: Rexy and Strader, that was some of the best VGM metal with Caribbean undertones I've ever heard. Agree with some others that the vocals were a bit too loud in spots, but clean that stuff up and sub this and you might well have a front-page winner. RUNNER UP: Lidawg, had you cleaned up that solo towards the end, you might well have crept into the third-place spot in my vote. Really dug your entry, and honestly the guitar tones were part of what made it for me. I'm a fan of lo-fi "garage/livingroom" rock music and yours had a lot of that vibe to it.

Mouse soloists are where it's at. Represent!

I have several of these gems already (and Impostor Nostalgia and the RAR! soundtrack are in heavy rotation), but I paid $10.01 anyways because teh epics are totally worth it.

What, precisely, do you mean by static? I'm not hearing anything that resembles static to me on any systems I've listened on. There are some white noise sweeps that I used heavily during the piece, but those are exactly where they should be. Just curious.

Seriously. Anyone who's involved in the competition who doesn't vote is really hurting themselves and their team. My team has all voted, so we've already got 3 extra first place votes. That gives us a big advantage. Doesn't everyone else want to even the playing field?

This. Exactly. Plus, the song might not be in the same key, or at the same tempo, or (heck) even in the same time signature. Doesn't make it any less of a valid remix.

Actually, it's only a year old...here in the States in the minds of the collective consciousness. For the rest of the world, dubstep is about 10 years old now, if you count some of the early stuff that evolved from the UK Garage and Grime scenes.

Glad someone posted about this game, cos I was going to very shortly anyways. I got wind of it a few days before its release, and I can highly recommend it to any and all people!
