  1. You'll have to wait for some currently in-progress albums to come out before you hear any VGM dnb remixes from me (and there are a nice lot of 'em), but I'd like to think my original DnB stuff is quite enjoyable too: http://flexstyle.bandcamp.com/track/imago-deo http://flexstyle.bandcamp.com/track/a-sense-of-urgency http://flexstyle.bandcamp.com/track/murder-instinct http://flexstyle.bandcamp.com/track/triumph-of-innocence http://flexstyle.bandcamp.com/track/eye-of-the-storm-part-i-escape The last two are the newest ones of mine, and therefore the ones with the best production values. Also +1 to Noisia (freaking brilliant, have you seen ?) and I'd throw in a nod to Terravita as well ( ). Other favorites include and , just to name a couple.Lastly, I'd recommend OCR's own Zircon with his Mass Media Constant album. Quite worth the buy.
  2. I can't wait to get home and install this. I've been holding off on using any beta versions cos they always crashed on me...hopefully the stability issues have been fixed for 10.0. Can't wait to use Newtone and Pitcher!
  3. This thread has officially been given an infusion of #winning.
  4. I endorse this project, and not just cos I've got a track! Great cause and great music!
  5. Ace work, man. Started following your stuff on Soundcloud cos that seems like a good idea. What're your tools of mass destruction (DAW, favorite plugins, etc?)
  6. So while all y'all were slacking on spring break (or whatever it is you do around this time of year), Wes and I got together, consumed massive quantities of sugar, caffeine, and In-N-Out Burger, and did a ton of mastering of these fine tracks here. Oh, what's that? You, O slacker, didn't have a finished track here? SHAME! Get thy butt in gear and get on this rockin' bandwagon, because this project will be FANTASMIC. tl;dr We made awesome tracks sound awesomer.
  7. FL doesn't have freeze. So that's kinda out of the question. Unfortunately, you're probably going to have to just do some straight recording, and hope you can work with what you've got, unless I'm totally off-base.
  8. I've never played, although that goes for most of the games covered on this site, haha.
  9. I really dig it! Definitely getting the retro vibe, but it's a highly musical arrangement that doesn't let me get bored at all. Production is perhaps a bit below modern standards, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, since hypercompression is all the rage. Love it!
  10. You could probably get away with buying a good, high-quality 650-watt PSU. Something from Antec or Corsair should do nicely. I'm running a similar rig and have plenty of headroom on my 650-watt Antec unit.
  11. A few years ago at ACIDplanet, forum members created a big ol' honkin' loop package. Each forum member contributed between 4 and 32 loops each, approximately, representing various genres 'n stuff. Perhaps an effort like this would be useful here?
  12. I made the mistake of starting out on the Fruity version when I first bought FL Studio, back at version 6. While you can indeed simply upgrade, I'd recommend just spending all the money right now--the Fruity version is, in my opinion, a crippled version of FL. Do yourself a favor and buy the Producer version! Worth the extra price for clip-based producing and Slicex alone, IMO.
  13. Finally listened all the way through this one, and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna stick this in the "very awesome" category. Loved it!
  14. Don't feel bad if you don't have the funds, y'all! I made the pay-scheme this way with full knowledge that people could *gasp* actually get my music without paying for it. It's all about the music, money is only secondary! I must say, though, if you pimp it out to your friends, family, and neighbors, I'd be a very happy man.
  15. @GiRS: Desert-dwellers, represent! @urdailywater: Believe it or not, Chaos Prime was my very first foray into dubstep of any sort. I'm rather pleased with the reception.
  16. Oh whut? 0.o Well mine actually has a story to go with it, so there! Thanks for your kind comments so far, y'all!
  17. "sounds like a crappy Soundblaster" Hmm?
  18. Bump for the weekday crowd? C'mon, you know you want some more free music!
  19. Greetings, Overclocked Remix-Heads! I'd just like to point you over to a brand-spankin'-new album I just released, entitled Eye of the Storm. If you head over to my Bandcamp.com page or simply click on that picture above, you'll be able to obtain it for whatever price you wish to pay. The publicity junk: Eye of the Storm chronicles--in audible and written form--the journey of a brave group of travelers through a mighty tempest. This is the fourth album from Glendale, AZ-based solo electronic artist Flexstyle, featuring a collaboration with up-and-coming Boulder, CO-based house musician (and OC ReMixer) Hollidayrain and a spectacular remix by Norman, OK-based electro producer (also an OC ReMixer) PrototypeRaptor, winner of the Weeping Clouds remix competition. Included as bonus tracks (in the album download) are contest runners-up Moar and The Loopkitchen with their excellent Weeping Clouds remixes, along with a Flexstyle remix of Danish trance producer Airdrift's song "Phoenix," the original of which is available from Dangerbox Recordings. Please download, share with your friends, and enjoy!
  20. I try to be flexible in the styles I create, musically, hence "Flexstyle."
  21. Is it just me, or has the bar for electronica at OCR just been RAISED SKY HIGH? It's about freaking time someone did that! Killer work--one of the most cohesive and punchy mixes, especially electronic, I've heard in a while here. While I'm unfamiliar with the source (I know, I'm a horrible person), this is a completely face-meltingly-awesome mix. Kudos. Plus, it's reminiscent of some of my favorite artists, namely Skrillex and Noisia.
  22. FWIW, I know SGX has done this sort of thing (releasing free tracks thru iTunes podcasting) with his Protagonist Records site. I think he just uses Wordpress with a podcasting plugin alongside Feedburner to track downloads.
  23. Image-Line Harmless and Toxic Biohazard, Wusik.com Wusikstation, and Cakewalk z3ta+. Harmless: Super-phat sounds are really easy to make. Great for deep basses, screaming leads, and those wobblin' dubstep sounds. Toxic Biohazard: Tons of power under the hood. I'm very familiar with it, so I can make nearly any sound I want. Tends to be a bit CPU-hungry, though. Actually, that kinda applies to all my favorite synths.... Wusikstation: I realize this beast has more to it than just the presets, but I have yet to need anything but a quick look through the many banks available to my Wusik.com subscriber's account to find an utterly usable sound. z3ta+: Super-powerful. Older technology, but still one of the most versatile synths ever made. I'd also be remiss if I didn't mention 4Front TruePianos and Garritan Personal Orchestra, my two favorite "real instrument" plugins.
