I like how they're calling Metroid: Other M (or rather, Brushfire is) a cash-in. I thought a cash-in would be more along the lines of just copying a successful idea they had before? (aka Call of Duty type) Judging from previous Extra Credits videos I think sephfire would agree with Nintendo taking risks...

What Moseph said. Selling arrangements of other music is about impossible, since you have to license the music. (Pretty sure you have to pay to license music) xD Originals are fine... if you couldn't sell originals, then there would be no music market in existence.

What? Did you even read anything zikon said? Also, zikon, see if anything's wrong with your MIDI controller sustain pedal, as in try other samplers and synths and see if it works fine. If not, your pedal/keyboard is bwoken.

Your best bet is to just clone the instrument like said before.

I like the drums and the groove. Not liking the really off rhythm and (sometimes) off key koto/harp thing at 1:00. 1:24 Synths are pretty 90's techno generic-ish... 1:49 Same problem. The lead synth doesn't pack any punch and sounds like a general MIDI soundfont orchestral hit. I'm not gonna comment on anything else till you fix those problems, because they're in a lot of the mix. Arrangement's pretty cool, but whenever you have a chorus or any section with a beat and a main melody you're neglecting to give it chords, which makes it sound empty and like it's an intro rather than a main part.

Sheet music was added after Zircon made his opinion, though.

ridley doesn't die shut up n00b But for all siwiusness, the people who make metroid games have no idea what the word "death" means unless it has to do with samus's creepy ways of dying. (visor cracking, blood filling screen, visual heart x ray, suit exploding, etc.)

There's only one other thing I can think of that would be described as a "space brain thing" and that's a Metroid... I've never heard anyone refer to Metroids as giant space brains. And Mother Brain dies in Super Metroid there's no way she's back in Other M. D:

The synths are a bit cheesy and old-sounding. Needs more more modulation/filtering/vibrato/LFO. Sounds like a 90's techno song, which isn't a bad thing, because you pull it off quite nicely. Just personally wish the synths were a bit more elegant or aggressive. I've heard a lot of your previous stuff, I know you can do better. Arrangement's nice, as all of your usual work, but I'd like to see some more dominant chords. Maybe make the pad a bit brighter/colder?

I agree on the Paper Mario thing. It also sounds a bit like the toy galaxy in mario galaxy 1 and the Toad Brigade theme. xD
