  1. I can try at my brother's house, maybe. I will give this a try sometime. Exact same behavior. :/ It freezes from time to time but normally it responds completely fine when it's done loading. The problem is the driver has been working for more than a year now, and I haven't really changed anything in the OS. I did install a USB Header Internal SD Card Reader (and I've had this problem since around then), but I don't think that's the issue.
  2. Why did I play 5 minutes of it and love it?
  3. Hey guys, I have a Native Instruments Audio Kontrol 1 USB 2.0 audio interface. It's been great with low latency and all that, but as of a couple weeks ago all of my music making applications have been loading SUPER SLOWLY. As in, running Kontakt 5 standalone takes about 5 minutes to start up. Same for FL Studio. When I get the chance to switch these applications to use Primary Sound Driver/WASAPI or whatever, they load LIGHTNING FAST, so I've concluded it's my interface's ASIO Driver. I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled the latest driver (3.0.0) for Audio Kontrol 1, but have had no luck. Not even gonna bother with NI tech support because it's absolutely terrible, especially with discontinued products like this. Any soundcard geeks with some advice? EDIT: So it turns out my internal SD Card reader was causing a motherboard USB conflict. After unplugging it, my audio interface works perfect.
  4. You should stop being mad at people mad at people being mad. It's unhealthy and it makes me sad. Because we need video games and music. Food is only a secondary concern.
  5. Wait, do people think there isn't ANY hype for this system? What hole of the internet are they living in?
  6. I love everything about this system and its games (so far so good!), but I'm the same as a few others: Gonna wait a while to buy one. Maybe in college when the prices are cheaper, because this is just too expensive and I'm saving up money at the moment.
  7. This is pretty much just wrong. :/ Up-scaling works from the outside in, not the inside out.
  8. Actually, you're right. I had a brain "out to lunch" moment because djp said "emulation".
  9. So is everyone else who finds fun in Mario? We just had someone in IRC who said they're not interested in the kids games but they are in Epic Mickey. Wtf?
  10. I like how their wider audience catering is seen as some kind of "problem". I like "kids" games.
  11. I'm a stingy voter in the sense that I don't just look at source USAGE. I look at the blend of the themes. It's easy to key shift the sources to fit each other and stick em one after the other, but to break down the progressions of each source and combine them so you have elements of one source and elements of another at the same time takes real arrangement skill. I realize that's a little unrealistic based on the fact that they're week-made remixes but any remix that does that would get my vote over the other that didn't. Just another thing to factor in if you get stuck on voting for someone; which one not only used both sources but BLENDED them into one song?
  12. I figure I owe a little more than sorry for people expecting to get a mix from me: For the past few months I've been staying away a bit from remixing and trying to raise my original music composition prowess. I guess in a way, you could say I'm a bit sick of remixing stuff. Truth to be told, I joined this competition expecting myself to plow through anyway like usual. Half the reason was that my buddies were joining, so I felt a little pressured to get in too. That was a big mistake and I wasted a competition slot for it, so to anyone who couldn't get in to the competition because it was full, I'm really sorry because it was a douchey thing to do; I wasn't thinking much.
  13. You're forgetting like the 13 hours of sleeping in on a weekend. You did test your skills. You made a song. Every new song you make will increase your ability and make you a better musician. Whether I submitted something or not wouldn't have changed that.
  14. Got through 3 worlds of Super Meat Boy without knowing there was a run button. On a keyboard.
  15. So shut up about it. I was never saying that you said it, I blatantly said that I was talking about DaMonz's statement. God is real. No matter how much you try to argue he's not, he's real. (you see how that works, dude? It doesn't. That's the point.) A console is a stripped down PC with skilled marketing and execution, dude. Nothing more. wait a minute... Point is, stop taking your opinions on PC vs. Console as some type of basic facts about life. They're video games. Video games are an art, and art is subjective. Stop taking your damn personal preferences and video game ideals and trying to pit them against actual points about marketing and business (the two things that actually matter in a company start up) concerning Ouya.
  16. 1) OMG COMPUTER HOW DO I TURN IT ON?!?!??!?! 2) I'll give you that, it takes more a more experienced computer guy to build a small form factor PC. 3) I'll give you that. 4) Definitely give you that. 5) That was what I was saying, the main attraction of consoles is $$$. 6) You could easily turn this around to say that this is a disadvantage to consoles, because there are games that also only work on a keyboard and mouse. FPS, RTS, etc. What I'm trying to say is PC can do both just fine, whereas console can only do controller dependent games. And if you're going to give me crap about playing SMB on a keyboard, then you're not really allowed to counter this with "people do play FPS with a controller". 7) Right, but what I am saying is that a developer is not "screwed" without Ouya. It's more than possible to develop a game on PC with Xbox 360 controller support (the "standard controller" for PC gaming). It may not reach the same market that Ouya does, but then again we're not even sure Ouya will even have much of a market. I still stand by my original point, really the only advantage to consoles is market related. More $$$ earned for devs because they reach a different audience, less $$$ for consumers to spend. But I think the notion that there's some sort of developer's dream for making a game on a controller that can only be satisfied with Ouya is bull.
