Yeah, and for someone like me who has working experience with this stuff, it's a formal solidification of some stuff I already know, so the order in which he addresses topics won't screw me over or whatever. And I see the way he's trying to do it, he's doing processing audio before generating audio, which could make sense in a way. Easier to understand how synthesizers work when you already know how processing audio works.

I don't even understand why this is relevant. The whole point of open courseware is for learning material, not for an accredited degree. Hey guys, I bought Komplete a while back and realized I now have two licenses of Guitar Rig 5 Pro. I'm looking to sell my old one to someone. It's a Guitar Rig 4 Pro license and a Guitar Rig 5 Pro upgrade license tied together; in other words, you get a full Guitar Rig 5 Pro after activating both. Cinesynthethnijazz In other words, I like to draw influence primarily from EDM, Jazz, and Orchestral/Ethnic scores. My music could be one of or any combination of these, really. Sometimes it's other stuff too, but I think these categories really fit the bill for "what kind of musician" I am if you had to classify me. Currently, Darksiders II is one of my favorite soundtracks. It is synthetic but also has a very exotic, eastern component to its soundscape. This is compared to the first Darksiders soundtrack, which was very classical in nature. I found it a bit boring in comparison to the second. My tools are FL Studio 10, Komplete 8, and various freeware plug-ins/samples. That's really all I need, anything desired further is just fun toys and higher quality tools. ^.^

Elements does not give you Kontakt. It gives you player with a few extra samples. If you want Kontakt, you have to buy Kontakt or Komplete. Kontakt does go for half-off though, and will actually do so in approximately 2-3 weeks.

Komplete has never had a standalone sale. It HAS, however, had 50% off for UPGRADES and CROSSGRADES. Meaning if you own a previous version of Komplete or you had Kontakt like me, you could purchase Komplete at much less than normal upgrade price.

Laptop AMD's are atrocious. Hot and slow, but I was specifically talking about YOUR E-350, which is so ridiculously low end. Kyle is right, you can get decent AMD's if you look for them. They're cheap, but just incomparably low-spec relative to what Intel offers. A computer is an investment, if you're not gonna buy something ahead of its time you may as well burn your money. Simplified example: Buy ok $500 PC this year -> buy ok $500 PC 3 years later Buy great $900 PC this year -> still have it 3 years later Of course this is incredibly simplified and unrealistic, but that's a basic demonstration of why buy a high end machine. This doesn't even factor things like end user happiness either.

If he were to go with X79, yeah. Didn't know you were talking about those specifically, my bad. There's only 3 processors for LGA 2011; $300, $500, and $1000. Also, motherboards are twice as expensive. Just throwing that out there for the OP. If budget is a concern.

I guess it depends on your preference for either a quick slapped-on bandage or a complete obliteration of the issue. The former is understandable if you don't have much money, but I don't think anyone should make guarantees it's gonna solve the problem.
