  1. Personally, I'm skeptical of this brand of ReMixing overall, but it *is* Sam, so... -djp HELLLO EVERYONE! This is a chiptune remix of "Edgar and Mash". I didn't use "expanded-channel" options or anything like that. Just good old fashioned 3 melodic channels 1 for percussion. NOT THAT THERE'S ANYTHING WRONG WITH EXPANDED CHANNELS!!! I just simply prefer the challenge of only having 3 notes to use at any given time [also... if you want to use the "pseudo reverb" trick, you have to sacrifice one third of your entire arsenal OMG!]. Here is LInk to song:
  2. Email sub file Kremcrok Recharged.MP3 Hello, I'm Mark, and I'd like to know what you think of my remix. I originally found your site about a year ago, and was really impressed with the talent featured there. So recently, I decided to give remixing a try. Please give my remix a chance. It's my first time remixing, and I would love to become a part of the growing community of OC Remix. I decided to remix the old factory tune from Donkey Kong Country. I always wanted to hear it as a hard techno song, and that's what you get in this remix. I apologize that the tags on the MP3 file are not complete. I did not have a program that could edit all of the mentioned tags. I did as best as I could do. 5. Remixers: sephfire, SuperGreenX my email: sgxmusic@hotmail.com Game: Mario Paint original: sorry, I don't know the title of the original, but we have a midi we referenced: http://www.wam.umd.edu/~danadler/mariopaint_bgm.mid Name of Remix: Intense Color URL: Comments from sephfire: "This remix probably isn't what most people would expect to hear from source material like Mario Paint. I'm not even completely sure what musical genre this remix is, but it was darn fun to make and it gave me the opportunity to butcher classic Mario tunes. Big thanks to NNY for making the request and to SGX for offering to help take this remix to the next level. After working together with him on various projects, it's an honor to finally have an official collaboration to submit to OCR. Enjoy! " From SGX: "Sephfire sent me his remix a while back asking for comments. I liked it a lot and thought that I could add some to it and make it sound much more powerful, so I offered to do so with his input. I mainly worked in Acid Pro 5 bouncing pieces from sephfire's Reason file into the project so I could do all kinds of odd drum chopping, reverb distortions, reverses, pads, distorted sounds and the like. I just in general made stuff sound evil. It was great fun because I had sephfire's awesome stuff to work with." <html><DIV> - Danny</P></DIV></html>

  7. Contact Info ReMixer name: Uboichi Real name: Uub Jacobson e-mail: uubjacobson@quicknet.nl ReMix info ReMixed game: Final Fantasy IX Original song: Rose of May It’s been a while I since posted the first version of this arrangement. When it was rejected the first time, I kinda forgot it. But now I’ve got a new version. For this Remix I really had to push my computer to its limits, up to a point where realtime playback wasn’t possible anymore. Exporting the audio took me over 20 minutes! The result, although not optimal, was satisfying to me, except the beginning. There’s a lot of noise at the beginning which I wasn’t able to filter out. But I haven’t heard the noise at any other part so I accepted a bad start. I regret that I don’t have the possibility of performing it with a real orchestra, because I have a lot more confidence in my composing and arranging skills than I have in my Remix skills. But anyway, I pass this one up for the test. I hope you like it. ~Uub http://members.lycos.nl/uboichi/muziek
  8. Hi, I know this is getting really annoying, but please forgive me for being so impatient, and I promise this will be the last submit of this remix from me until its been judged. Regards
  9. LongeBane --- Final Fantasy IV: Underworld theme, Airship, Chocobo theme, Overworld theme Hello. I have always loved FFIV as a child, and loved the music just as much. Nobuo Uematsu is a wonderful composer, and I would gladly make a tribute to his works if I could. Here I have arranged some of the beloved and memorable songs of FFIV. This involved over a month of careful work, but I am finally finished, and would like to share with you this song. Enjoy

  11. Contact Info: DarkImpedence David Burch burchdc@earthlink.net Remix Info: Final Fantasy VII Compilation of the main fight song and Under the Rotting Pizza Remix name: Fighting Over Rotten Pizza This is technically the first remix I've ever attempted, though it's my second submission to OC. I played around with remixing about a year ago, but didn't have a keyboard or very good sequencing software so the results weren't too great. Since then I've purchased FL Studio 5 and a keyboard, and really got into remixing about a month ago. I really wanted to fix this mix and make it something I could be proud of, since I thought the idea behind it was pretty solid. Basically, this is a combination of the main fighting theme from FF7 and the song Under the Rotting Pizza (thus the name, Fighting Over Rotten Pizza). I'm not really sure what genre to characterize this as...at times it's Drum and Bass, other times it feels more like rock, and there are even some sections that are more dance than anything. The song goes back and forth between both themes, blending the different sections of each together to create a completely new song. I hope you like it...I've really put a lot of time and effort into this one, and feel it represents the best of what I have to offer at this early stage of my mixing career...er...hobby. Enjoy! Played on a Yamaha Motif ES8 and recorded with Garageband.
  13. Remixer Name: SynthR Real Name: Matthew Le Blanc Email: synthr@cogeco.ca Website: http://www.myspace.com/djsynthr Game Remixed: Streets of Rage 2 Song Remixed: Go Straight Remix Title: I'm Raging Original Composer: Yuzo Koshiro and Motohiro Kawashima Comments: I was actually just introduced to this site by a friend of mine who suggested I submit my track, although I feel my track isn't very good. Anyway, this is my first remix of a song from a game but I've been writing my own original music for some years now. Streets of Rage 2 was one of my favourite games when I was younger and the entire soundtrack, especially 'Go Straight', has been heavily engraved in my soul. I didn't want to completely change the style or rhythm of 'Go Straight' but wanted to bring it out from the Sega days without destroying it's feel. I wanted to keep the classic 90's dance beat and what I felt were the most important aspects of the song while writing a few new parts. For instance, the bassline and the melody that comes in at 00:59. The remix isn't a real floor mover but geared towards a more relaxed listener. Enjoy!

Protect the Stairbase has been the most effort that I have ever put into a remix, and I hope it shows. I showed it in the forums as a WIP, and have made about 8 revisions ( thread can be seen here: http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=70272 ).
  15. LT Edit - Original Decision: http://www.ocremix.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=68050 This is a resubmission of my previous song "Thunder 'N Lightning." I decided to not play my sax for it, and save playing it for future arragements that I proceed with. Anyhow, here is the link: If it does not work, you can send me an e-mail or something and I'll PM a judge with link (since the last time the link didn't work, I sent another right away to djpretzel, yet the version over at VGMix was judged instead). Oh yeah, the necessary information and shtuff... --Contact Info-- *Xenon Odyssey *Bobby Keller *xenonodyssey22@netscape.net *None *10277 --ReMix Info-- *The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time *Song of Storms/Windmill Hut *Larry's got this covered *http://www.zophar.net/usf/lozusf.rar - #57 *Well, I made this for the Dwelling of Fools competetion and won first palce back in August. Then I released it to VGMix and submitted it here. I got reviews, and once I read them, I realized that I had done a very stupid thing to submit to OCR. SO, I started working on it again, adding more and more things. Finally, djp sent me an e-mail saying the previous RapidShare link was broken, so I sent him a new link with a new version. Of course, Liontamer goes and uses the version I had up at VGMix since the song was a fall-through (though that's not his fault; he didn't know of the other version in the first place). It gets shot down by the smitting flames of Vig, Liontamer, analoq, and GrayLightning. Of course, that was completely expected, as the piece was extremely horrible back then (though all my friends liked it...idiots). So, I hope I have revamped it enough for it to pass as an OCR. Also, if this passes, please keep the "(Crimson Midnight Edition)" in the title as to distinguish this version from the other two on VGMix and OverLooked ReMiX. Thank you. Goddamn that was a long e-mail.
