  1. Remixer name: Master Tee email address: mrt203@ecs.soton.ac.uk game remixed: Warcraft 2 name of individual song (as far as I know): orc 2 Hey, This is my first remix contribution to your site. It's part of the Warcraft 2 soundtrack and is referred to in most midi transcriptions as "ORC2GM". I haven't got a decent id3v2 editor so I've not been able to place all the tags (specifically "content type" and "copyright message") so I've listed all the required tags here. Tags: Album = http://www.ocremix.org Composer = Glenn Stafford Content type = game Copyright message = Blizzard Entertainment Original artist = PC Original album = Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness Lead Artist = Master Tee Part of a set = Title = Warcraft 2 The Axe of Zul'jin OC ReMix Year = 2005 Warcraft 2 is such a cool game and I'm pretty surprised that no-one has attempted to remix any of the tracks from it. My guess is that they're all a bunch of pussies who are afraid of time sigs that aren't 4/4. Here is the link: I hope you like it, ciao, Master Tee...
  2. metaphist aka Paul Ford peford@cfl.rr.com http://www.arcane-d.com Kirby Superstar “Dreamstreet” (Dynablade Area 2 remix) Seems I can’t get off this downtempo stuff It’s definitely my style, though. I tried to start things off with a good lead that establishes the main melody of the original, since in the past I’ve seemingly had problems with weak leads. When the melody repeats, I added some string work that I hope complements the lead rather than confuses it. The second half of the remix introduces the bassline heard from the original tune. I thought that the bassline was a defining element in the original so I wanted to feature it. Next comes the breakbeat, which is my favorite part. I tried to keep things relevant by adding variations of the main melody underneath, which continue on till the end. Lastly is the bass solo, which I hope I pulled off better than the last time I tried it (coughMtKoltzcough). I close things out with a light return to the main melody so as not to forget the source. Hope you guys like it, we all need more Kirby in our lives.

  5. ReMixer name: Wolfgang Name of game ReMixed: Mechwarrior 2, for the PC Name of individual songs ReMixed: Track 12 and Track 14 (no names) Link to the original soundtrack: (link features all three Mechwarrior 2 games, as well as both Mechwarrior 3 games, and all three Mechwarrior 4 games) Mechwarrior 2 is one of my favorite games, the first installment most of all. The first track chosen represents the first mission of the Clan Wolf campaign, which takes place on a sandy desert planet, and the second track represents the icy planet of Garstedt, which can be selected in the instant-action "Trial of Grievance" mode. I chose these tracks because they are two of my favorites, and they flow from one to the other rather well. The tracks are admittedly "odd," so with this ReMix I hope to bring something interesting and unique to OCRemix. Link to the file:

It was soft but energetic, something I cannot fully describe. Lately, I've been learning how to use Reason, and I stumbled upon an old recording of the song. Immediately, I knew that I needed to remix it. I had so many ideas running through my head. After a month and a half of procrastinating and working on it here and there, I finally finished it. It isn't quite what I had in mind (what does anyway?), but the feedback that I got from it was surprising. I'm hoping I can receive the same from OCReMix.
  7. Hey, Roe again. Haven't been mixing for a while but I cooked something up nice the other day. It's a remix of the Lost Paintings track from Castlevania Symphony of the Night. Very funky, slow grooves and almost discoish in places with the guitar doing a somewhat western melody vibe, makes you think of a sad cowboy...or a heroic one. Two cowboys eatin' da puddin'? Lol hope not. So yeah, seeya again soon. Btw don't listen to zircon he thinks there are wrong notes O_o haha. (at least I don't hear them).
  8. A friend told me about ocremix a while back and since then I've just been lurking and downloading songs but never thought to try my hand at remixing something. Well, I finally did and this is the product. ReMixer: Awksijek Name: Gibson Starkweather email: awksijek@gmail.com website: http://www.awksijek.com forum userid: 33868 name of game remixed: Phantasy Star Online (Ver.2 for Dreamcast) name of song remixed: Image of a Hero I've always loved the mixture of classical music and a sort of funk/jazz approach to music. I've always thought of this song (Image of a Hero) as my favorite out of all the songs of PSO yet I never thought of it in the perspective of classical, so I gave it a shot. You can find the song here: The filesize (by the way) is 5.97 mb I hope that works. Thank you. -Gibson
  9. Hello, I've finally plucked up the courage to attempt submitting a remix to your site, having enjoyed many of the remixes there. The quality of mixes is a wee bit intimidating, but I decided I had noting to lose by trying. Contact Info Remixer Name - Warning Forever Real Name - Gordon Dempster E-Mail - gordon@empty-spaces.net Website - http://actsofgord.empty-spaces.net/warningforever.htm Remix Info Name of game(s) ReMixed - Sanxion Name of individual song(s) ReMixed - Thalamusik (Loading Theme) Comments - I originally did tis remix way back in 2000, using FastTracker 2 on my old P200. I'm finally getting back into music work after a few years away and wile rummaging through my old tunes, decided to remaster some of them using MadTracker 2.5. The Sanxion remix was always my favourite so decided to do it first, I added stereo panning and filters to it and the result sounded a lot better than the original mix, so decided to take a chance and try submitting it. The remix can by downloaded here - Hope you enjoy it! Regards, Gordon Dempster

  12. My ReMix: Name of ReMix: A Venture Through Hyrule *Contact Info* ReMixer Name: Antisheep Real Name: Paul Statezny E-Mail Address: Paul@Antisheep.net Website: http://www.Antisheep.net Userid: 22730 *Remix Info* Name of games ReMixed: The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past (SNES), The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (N64) Name of Individual Songs ReMixed: (In the order of the medley) Overworld(LttP), Dark World(LttP), The Lost Woods(OoT), Great Fairy's Fountain(LttP/OoT), Windmill Hut(OoT), Deku Tree(OoT), Title Theme(LttP) Composer: Koji Kondo Link to Original Soundtracks: Link to the Past MP3's - || Ocarina of Time MP3's - My Comments on A Venture Through Hyrule: This arrangement is actually the first Video Game Remix I've ever done. It's also the first orchestral piece I've ever completed. The purpose behind it was originally to make a tribute to the great Koji Kondo, one of my favorite composers of all time. I chose Zelda music because the Zelda games were my favorite ones that he composed for; they're full of adventure, excitement, and a story to tell. That's what I modeled this arrangement after. I wanted to illustrate all the auras that are radiated by the different areas of Hyrule. I arranged almost all of of this piece by ear without referring to the OSTs. I admit that some areas of the medley don't contain the greatest amount of original content. However, there are still some very noticeable additions to it. For example... (1) The meters for Deku Tree and the LttP Title Theme are changed. (2) Most of the transitions are comprised of chordings that I made up myself (not taken directly from the games) (4) The piccolo solo and upright bass part in The Great Fairy's Fountain section (5) The LttP Title Theme is changed from a very light major to a very dark minor (4:24) ***Important*** Regarding the following statement in the Submission Instructions & Standards: "However, it is strongly advised due to the nature of the way mixes are evaluated that you maintain focus and continuity in your arrangement, which is much easier when you are dealing with songs from a single game's soundtrack. Please keep this in mind - part of the focus of this site is to highlight and pay homage to the work of game composers, not cram as many of their songs as possible into a five-minute arrangement." - As I have stated, I was not attempting to "cram as many of" Koji Kondo's tunes as possible into one arrangement. I attempted to the best of my ability to make the arrangement pay tribute to many of the very catchy tunes of Zelda while still maintaining a somewhat natural flow. I hope this explanation shuns you away from being turned off by that aspect of my arrangement. Thanks for considering my ReMix! ~Paul Statezny

  15. Hello: djpretzel and judges. (On the link that I provided, I´m saying that the mix is incomplete. But it is really done now.) -Contact Info- ReMixer name: Txai Real name: Txai Junqueira Viegas Email address: t_x_a_i@hotmail.com Website: http://txai.deviantart.com Userid (number, not name) on our forums: 22288 -ReMix Info- ReMix Title: Chinese Dreams Name of game(s) ReMixed: Super Street Fighter 2 Name of individual song(s) ReMixed: Chun Li's Ending Part 3 My comments: This is certainly my best work. I worked on it for almost five months. And I put my best effort in this mix. This was a song for the SSF2 Project. However, I left of there because Shael Riley changed his Genre guidelines and rejected my song. He want urban songs, like trance, rap, hard rock...whatever. My song is an orchestral/ethnic piece. I am really disappointed with the fact that occured. Because it was also very hard to do. Some guys told me that the endings are hard to make because they´re very short and can´t bring some inspiration. Big mistake. The first thing that got me on it was the initiative to search the spc file of the original source tune. I listened the song several times and it got me with a lot of inspiration and clear ideas to start. The arrangement written have great lines of me. I absolutely had fun working with the percussion and the instrumentation. The flute was one of my favourite things. I also put some epic instruments to do it more asian. There´s many variation of instruments that I liked to work: pizzicato, strings, piano, cello, bells, oboe, bassoon, trumpets...and much more. But this song isn´t so famous. You can listen a spc file of that, or maybe this MIDI file: (NOTE: the original track was played only in few certain periods, like the end of the mix). On this time of effort, thanks to my friends for the suggestions. And thank you to GrayLightning for the feedback. Enjoy, -Txai.
  16. Hey there, I thought I'd surprise you this time (don't gimme that look ¬¬) with a collab working with the one and only Jredd, or in reality me (Phil) with my friend Trevin. The game I chose to remix was Threads of Fate, because I haven't seen any coverage of it so far, and it's one of my favourite soundtracks. Trev saw my WIP and said: 'Your drums sux' (a little more politely) and made me some better ones. Here is the original set of .PSF's in .RAR form: And now a link to the mix: I think this mix is a leap since any of my other mixes, and I have made sure the production is a shweet as can be. I hope more people will mix this soundtrack in future, yes, I'm looking at you! Thanks for all your work keeping the site in shape, and I hope this mix is to your likings, Phil and Trev.

I made it for RPGamer.com's Splendid Performance competition, round 4. I know the judges haven't been fans of my lyrical remixes in the past, but I believe my vocal work has improved at least somewhat since my last vocal submission, so hopefully I'll either get acceptance or some new, helpful comments. For clarity, here are the lyrics: looking back on all we've been through what is left, what else could we do? we've been down this road so many times before will i ever learn the way.. to come back to you this ardency has taken me and now it is a part of me I'm falling back to where I used to be.. this hearts debut is overdue now i can see, i know it's true I'm falling back.. yeah falling back to you.. i can see you from a million miles away things weren't always the way they are today if only i could learn to change the past if only things could last... another day this ardency has taken me and now it is a part of me I'm falling back to where I used to be.. this hearts debut is overdue now i can see, i know it's true I'm falling back.. yeah falling back to you.. 19. Hi, im a new ReMixer. Call me Darmak, or Dar for short. I have made a mix of one particular game, Final Fantasy 1 (like the world needs another...) But when I was fooling around with some effects this came up, a cool, rhythmic beat to the town theme of FF1. Mixed with some techno beat, this thing is great I always loved OC remix and wanted to be a part of it so... here it is n.n hope you like it. It is the result of a devious thought, with limited resources to create the remix. an old copy of Sound Foundry's Acid 4.0. File is attached, 3.63 MB, 3:04 long, MP3 format. ~Thanks! P.S. By the way, I love the radio station at ormgas! I always have it on. ~OCRemix supporter, Darmak
  20. Email sub file André Marigo - Infiltrating the DAM.mp3 Hi, I'm André Marigo from Brazil and this is my first remix. I'm a guitar player and I try to make versions with eletric guitars from the musics I like. That's it. This site is awsome by the way I really aprecciate the idea. 21. I know you guys have a general rule about professionalisim in the mixes that you accept, but the strongest point in this mix is infact it's retro-modern apeal. You see, I wanted to capture this game's very escence and mutate it into something that is/was unique to this game/era. Alot of that..in my mind has to do with the brilliant sounds that the Genises produced. This mix has a multitude of samples ripped from SoR, Contra Hard Corps, and even a record scatching sample from none other than Sonic 2's Metropolis Zone. The rest of the sounds were produced by a very old keybored, A Yamaha PSS-170. But the twist is everything is put through a modern digital mixer and/or my Magix Program. Hence "retro modern". Dispite it's rather short length and strange samples...I hope that it's atmosphere and over all presentation will find it's way into your retro-gamer souls, and OCR's collection as well. But if not, I still am glad you all at least took the time to listen. Jredd-
