Hey Pretzel, I'm back with something new! I made my new track in about 18 hours after I submitted my last mix, and it turned out a lot better than might be expected. Track: Another Winter Game: Seiken Densetsu 3 Remix name: Another Eternal Winter Track location: Style: Orcestral Mix I took the time to get an MP3.com account for more reliable uploads. Damn Geoshitties and their awful bandwidth rules >_> If my last track didn't download right, it's uploaded at the site as well. While we're talking about Seiken Densetsu games, there's fault in a couple of submissions. Seiken_Densetsu_3_Electric_Fields_OC_ReMix = Not from Seiken Densetsu 3. This is most definitely from Seiken Densetsu 2/Secret of Mana instead... Forest track... and Elinee the witch's track in one... Secret_of_Mana_FearOfTheHeavensFlow_OC_ReMix = Original song with simple percussion on top. To quote the submission guide - (under "3. What are the general guidelines for what / how to ReMix??") "In other words, don't just take the original and drop a few drum loops on top." Eh, I'm not trying to be nitpicky, it just pisses me off to see people who try to get away with such things. This is my first submission to Overclocked. I've been doing remixes for about 3 years now but never really thought they were good enough to submit, until a friend of mine bugged me into sending this in... Anyways, this is a remix of "One Winged Angel", FFVII, last boss theme. I kind of noticed there weren't many battle remixes on Overclocked, so it seemed appropriate to send this in. This is mostly a set of guitars, distorted and rock... yeah... I'm not good at describing music (never took music theory in school...) Oh and also, the actual song file is set to loop infinitely, but for submission purposes I let it go through one loop then faded out... kind of long as is anyways. Hey, how's it goin? Recently, I listened to my Brambly Rivers remix and almost vomitted, so I started work on a piece using some of my brand new equipment (i.e. Korg Triton) and a better understanding of music in general. The result was this short but sweet piece, titled (in Italian) Mora Mare. As I absolutely love the Bramble theme from DKC2, I felt I needed to do it justice, and redeem my past mistakes. For the record, I concur - Dan is usually a bit stricter than other judges and often I agree with his hesistance on mixes that are otherwise praised. We do want to keep a relatively high bar. Here, though, I think it was pretty clear to me at least that this ReMix is worthy.

Feel free to post a link on the WIP forum if you just want people to see it - no hard feelings, but I think we're in accord that while this is different, and different is good, this brand of different falls outside the scope of the site.

Malcos - Can we get the original? I guess what we have to ask ourselves is whether this is the type of thing we want to accept on a regular basis (i.e. no special treatment just because it's coming from a judge, etc.) I'd like to clear this up sooner rather than later as I'm trying to clear the forum out before I post the next flood, which you've probably been wondering about since it's been awhile.

Would the creation of a FruityLoops forum be a good idea? Just tossing that idea out there. Of course, then there might be similar need for a Reason forum . . . those are the only two I can think of. Perhaps not necessary?

I've tried using Reason (1.0), but it's just not working for me. Here's a little something I've been working on this last week using Fruity Loops 3.55. I love this program! (if the link doesn't work, right click, save target as, or try back later) <<If Trance/Rave is your thing, then you should LOOOVE this mix. It's far better than anything I've remixed so far. For Trance, it may be a bit unconventional, but it works. This will probably be the third BoF submission (first for this particular theme) to be posted on OCR. After this, maybe more people will take interest in this game Although there are some other games have need much more coverage (i.e. Tales of Phatasia, hint, hint). Expect more great remixes to come! Hi. My name is Domini,c I'm easily distracted so its incredible I actually finished a song for your site. Hopefully it will make it on to your site... i read the guidelines page a million times but i wouldn't be surprised if i missed something. Ive been coming to you site for a long time and i love it cuz i think game music is great and there is so much to choose from. one time when i was at your site i noticed in your review of some remix that the person used fruity loops and so i went and downloaded it and i started making songs that really suck but i thought it was the coolest program ever and so 8 months later now i think i have something worth trying to submit. Actually i have two other remixes- one for megamanx2 and super mario kart.. last time i checked there were no megaman x2 remixes(i hope i can be the first) and i would have submitted my song already but i still need to rework it because i am completely unsatisfied with it. anyways i can play the piano a little bit and the saxophone, im a little better at it then the piano but not much. im no musician and i didnt play the piano in this, its a soundfont... oh well i think its still sounds halfway decent, i hope you think so too. i won't usually write this much its just since its my first time submitting.
