    SIGN-UP IS OFFICIALLY OPEN!!! For all those of you who didn't post early (thanks Ethan Rex) I'll be updating the first post with additional information, so PLEASE READ all the rules for signing up and picking zones. Please only sign up if you're serious about participating and plan to at least be able to turn something in the week(s) you're mixing. Sign-up will remain open for 2 weeks, or until I have 32 participants. I'll be tracking everyone's picks on this handy Roster Spreadsheet. Feel free to use the spreadsheet to see who has signed up and the zones they've picked, if it helps you make your selections. If they are any conflicts with people's top picks, I'll need to flip coins to resolve them. You will only be assigned one zone throughout the entire competition, so choose wisely! For now, I'll be adding everyone who told me in advance in this thread they were 100% interested in participating to the Roster Spreadsheet. If you don't get back to me soon, then I'll free up your slot for someone else to sign up. OK GO!

    Exactly. Wing Fortress and S&K Death Egg are both ok. When I said Boss levels, I meant truly levels that are JUST bosses (and not standard zones), such as Doomsday Zone. I guess Cannon's Core and End of the World are fine too, although they might be a little harder to utilize. Sweeeeet! It's been a little while since we've had TGH in on some OCR compos I was talking to Funk Fiction and DJ Max-E on Facebook too, encouraging them to sign-up! So we'll see. Regardless, this gonna be goooooooooooooooooooooooooooood.

    Hey Asa, the song is sounding pretty cool. I really enjoy the instrumentation and the style you chose. Top-notch execution for sure. As for the vocals, I think the volume is appropriate. It's not overpowering, in my opinion. As for being able to understand them, I couldn't really without reading the lyrics (not sure how comprehensible you wanted them though). I think vocoded vocals sound pretty cool when executed correctly. Here they feel a little too robotic, but that's just my personal preference, I like them when they're a little more natural sounding. I think a lot of older Daft Punk stuff hits a nice happy medium. Something about the ends of a few of the phrases sounds slightly off too, like it's clashing or there is some dissonance almost like it's off-pitch just a little? The "seeing your face" line was the one in particular that stuck out a little bit to me. Really cool though, I'm enjoying this for sure!

    I should have clarified: I'll be randomizing the brackets, people won't be picking them per say. I just meant I would take in consideration people's requests if they know they would be busy on X week, then I can place them in a specific bracket if it helps. Yeah that shouldn't be a problem though!

    Hey Rashad! Mixing will be on alternating weeks (and depending on how far you advance in the compo) with the Sonic Bracket starting the week of Jan 26 (and subsequently Feb 9, Feb 23, Mar 9) and the Robotnik Bracket starting the week of Feb 2 (and subsequently Feb 16, Mar 2, Mar 16) . If you know your school schedule will be better on a certain week, I can assign you to one of the brackets specifically. Same goes for anyone else. As for Sonic & The Secret Rings... I was considering those "storybook" Sonic games to be spinoff games. So the "core" games are just your standard platformer Sonic games, whereas the spinoff games like the puzzle or racing games were excluded.

    I think I'm going to open this up for sign-up tomorrow night. Get your picks ready and be on the lookout for the official sign-up period to begin!!! I'll make a post and update the thread title and first post. We'll still plan to recruit for two weeks max to try and get 32 participants, and then kick off the first round of mixing on January 26th.     Awesome! Yeah ask away! The sign up period is going to start this weekend (Friday night probably) and last for two weeks. Mixing should start on Jan 26 for the first bracket!

    Yeah that Sonic track was simultaneously the funniest and most wrong thing I've ever heard. Well done gentlemen! Best use of vocal clips ever!

    Thanks Arrow! I had forgotten about the PC versions of the S3 zones. Those are definitely eligible too (we had a PC Launch Base picked last time!). And I'm admittedly not very familiar with Sonic Adventure 2, but you're right, all the main zones should be eligible. I just wasn't counting things like special stages or boss themes. Thanks!

    Whoa, thanks Xenonetix! That list looks pretty good, my only edits are that Sonic 2 has different themes for it's 2-player zones too and Sonic CD has the JP and US themes. Doomsday Zone is a "no", but I think the rest you listed were ok. Thanks for putting this together!

    Oh no no no, I purposefully didn't start the Sonic compo until this would end cause I didn't want to steal any thunder. It's just pre-recruiting right now (which I'll admit is going slow too). It's probably just the combination of being over the holidays, magfest, and just the general voting tendencies the farther along you get in a compo (always tends to drop off a bit). With that said PEOPLE SHOULD PAY ATTENTION TO THE CONCLUSION OF THE FFCC!!!

    Sure thing! When is your school trip and how long? If it's less than a week long, I can place you in whatever bracket doesn't mix that week so it wouldn't conflict. I'd love for you to join again if you got the time! Your track last time was great and you gave halc a run for his money ;)
